Many folk ignore the beauty and strength of blue steel in favor of stainless. Stainless, our friends, will certainly rust, and we have seen many instances of it. Blue steel, on the other hand, is not as easy to rust as people think, and this Taurus model 605 .357 Blue 2 inch revolver is proof of that. Its only surface detractions are a minimal amount of perspiration etching on the upper left rear edge of the frame, inconspicuous spotting and scouring on the left side of the frame and muzzle area. We sold this revolver new a couple years ago, and it has been constantly carried by one of our local tomato-loving, high acidity citizens. Despite being carried much and fired little, it still maintains its original attractive blue coloration. We rate it as Very Good, perhaps even Excellent, finishwise, since 85 to 90 percent of its original finish is unaffected by surface wear in our estimation. Photos, at any rate, should suffice for prospective owners to judge finish grade for themselves. That is what we say about this revolver.
