Accepted Payment Methods: Returns: No Returns Description: This is a sad little Ithaca that comes with a sad story. We purchased this, along with several other firearms, from the estate of a man who passed away much too young. His widow told us he received this Ithaca 37 Featherlight from his father for his 17th birthday. (If our math is correct that would put it around 1973) She said he cherished the Ithaca and it was the only shotgun he ever used, including his deer hunt last fall. That, in a nutshell, explains the condition. We took it out and put a box of shells through it without any concerns. The action locks up fine but is very loose. Knurling is gone on barrel nut. (Probably from using a pliers to change barrels)The bluing is worn badly as you will note in the pictures, The stock is cracked behind the trigger guard and has stress cracks where it attaches to the receiver. The forearm is not cracked however does have a couple of pieces chipped off it. The 28" vent ribbed, modified choke barrel is chambered for 2-3/4" and the bore is fine but does have some scaling on the outside. Included is a 20" "Deer Slayer" barrel also chambered for 2-3/4". This barrel is in better overall condition than the rest of the gun. This would be a great project gun or an emergency back-up. Heck, the previous owner bagged a lot of game with it and it sounded like he had no intention of putting it away. The "Deer Slayer" barrel alone is almost worth the asking price so it's like getting the shotgun for free. Now, the fine print.
