Here is a fine old Leupold that comes to us from the State of Nevada. It is an M-8 fixed 4 power with standard Duplex Crosshairs. It has only moderate finish wear, faint whitening at places on its sharp edges. Serial number is 588,000 range with no prefix or suffix, and that necessarily dates it to 1973 or earlier. Note the nice purplish ting to the turret caps, lock ring, and eyepiece ring with patent numbers. Both lenses show no signs of scrubbing, as the photos show, so the coatings are intact and excellent. We rate it as Very Good, perhaps even Excellent, since 85 to 90 percent of its original finish is intact by our estimate.
