From its home in a Florida importer's warehouse comes this Akkar 12 gauge Over and Under Shotgun. Manufacturer was Akkar Silah Sanayi Ltd. of Istanbul, Republic of Turkey. Importer was Samco of Miami, the Charles Daly Importer from mid 2012 until 2015. From its 11 serial number prefix, it was manufactured in 2011. Action is box lock over and under shotgun. Construction is entirely steel metal, walnut, and rubber recoil pad. Chambering is 12 gauge, 2 3/4 inch and 3 inch shells interchangeably. Barrels are 29 7/8 inches, nominally 30 inches with muzzle threaded for standard Rem-choke tubes. Upper barrel has 9 Ports arrayed on either side of the second post; and 12 ports on either side of the lower barrel. Bore is standard diameter, non back bored, and chrome lined. Choke tubes furnished are full choke .689 flush fit single slash mark; .6975 Extended Improved Modified, IM marked; .7035 Extended Modified, M marked; .711 flush fit Improved Cylinder 4 slash marks; and .725 Cylinder Bore 5 slash. Sight system is .390 width serrated top, 9 post ventilated rib, that sits .21 inch above the barrel at midsection. Front sight is steel supported green fiber optic, with .096 brass mid bead on the sixth post. The .300 smooth faced gold plated trigger pulls single stage at 3 pounds vicinity with moderate felt creep and overtravel. Transfer is selective and recoil dependent. Mechanism is independent ejectors, not simple extractors. Safety tang mounted and serves as the barrel selector. Forend is semi beavertail with cut checkered surface laterals. Buttstock length of pull is 14 3/4 inches from the trigger face to the end of the 1 inch recoil pad. Stock drop is 1 1/2 inch at the comb, and 2 1/2 inches at the heel. Buttstock is cast fully 1 inch to the right. Stock has Cut checkered laterals on the pistol grip. This will NOT be a southpaw friendly over-under unless made so by a competent stock smith. Weight empty is 7 pounds, 9 ounces, centered at the pivot pin.Overall length is 48 inches. Finish is polished surface blued barrels and stainless steel furniture. Walnut finish is semi gloss. Lettering is roll stamped on the barrel and inked on the receiver. Note that the recoil pad has a small tear on its left side. Apart from that, Surface detractions are negligible. We rate this Daly as Excellent, 90 percent vicinity by our estimate, but photos ought to suffice for our distinguished shoppers to judge finish grade for themselves. Bore, chamber, threads, and mechanism are all bright and clean. We estimate this shotgun was fired fewer than 300 times, if at all. It still has its original barrel sticker attached. It came to us in its foam padded factory plastic case with choke tube wrench, total of 5 tubes, and with protective papers. It probably served as a showgirl at the SHOT Show in Las Vegas, or at the NRA Convention in Pittsburgh in 2011. Note the fiddleback figure to the walnut.
