According to its BNR serial number prefix, this .357 Military & Police Heavy Barrel Stainless was manufactured in early 1993. It is one of the last fully traditional model 65 Smith & Wessons manufactured, since the square butt grip frames began phasing out in 1995. Note the Satin Stainless hammer and smooth .312 Satin Stainless Combat Trigger. Barrel, of course, is 4 inch Heavy Barrel, and the weight empty is a well balanced 37 to 38 ounces. Our friends at DGS Custom Gunsmithing have refinished this former service revolver to a solid matte stainless finish, and any detractions are residual and negligible. Pachmayr SK-GP grips exhibit moderate wear in the rear areas of both side sections. We rate this revolver as Excellent / Refinished; but photos should suffice for interested parties to judge finish grade for themselves. It is Excellent mechanically. Blast effect to the under side of the frame top strap directly above the barrel's forcing cone is negligible, and that area is not really distinguishable from its adjacent territory on the top strap. Lateral play to the cylinder is minimal, no more than 1mm total movement, both with the trigger relaxed and with it pulled. Both those facts indicate to us that this 65 has had few if any Magnum rounds fired through it. Double action trigger pull is smooth and consistent, and the hammer travels an exceptional 15 to 20 degrees after the cylinder times in all six positions on double action. On single action, the hammer travels a full 20 to 25 degrees on all six after the cylinder times, and the single action trigger pull is an exceptionally light and crisp 2 7/8 pounds. Bore and cylinder chambers are bright, clean, and excellent. Cylinder face to forcing cone gap is a perfect .006. This is a very well constructed Model 65. We are including a North Carolina Department of Corrections left hand security duty holster. Don't let your buddies use your account. Registered user must be the buyer, with his or her own money. Buying firearms and related items for other people can result in felony charges. Don't try, either, to circumvent any law; for example, a California civilian may not buy a high capacity magazine and have it shipped to his brother-in-law in Nevada. That is a felony.
GA Pay buyers are NOT charged until we confirm we have the item and are ready to ship it. The same thing is true for phone-in, fax-in, and mail-in payments. In this respect, and in several others, Guns America outshines all its competitors. This is the best firearms website there is, hands down.
