All on its own,Taurus has introduced a .40 S&W caliber revolver, this one, the 405, that carries the same round as the 40 autos in a 5 shot Chief's Special Size package. The 405 comes with a total of four moon clips, a very nice and very old invention that amounts to having four speedloaders, and the moon clips certainly simplify the retrieval of fired brass. This is the traditional K Frame, Tracker size Taurus medium frame center fire, with 2 inch full lug barrel. It is double and single action; has an internal transfer bar safety as well as the Taurus patented hammer-internal lock security system with two keys; factory Taurus Ribber combat; 5 round cylinder capacity; and weight empty is a well balanced, pleasant-shooting 30 ounces. Sights are fixed notch rear and stepped ramp front. It is in Satin Finish matte stainless with traditional satin finish serrated hammer and .400 smooth combat trigger; This specimen comes in a factory box marked, Factory Reconditioned. It carries, writes the label, the Exclusive Taurus Functional Repair Policy, but not on its finish. We know of no one who warrants finish anyway. Surface detractions are minimal, note the small streaks on the right front side or edge of the frame. Cylinder rotation marking is minimal. This Taurus is in its factory box just like it recently left the Miami warehouse, with its manual and keys for its internal lock. We rate it as Excellent and unfired, but photos ought to suffice for our shoppers to judge finish grade for themselves. We have not cleaned it; any residue in the bore or cylinder chambers, comes from test firing in Miami at the Taurus International Facility. Go interchangeable and own the fine little Taurus .40 S&W Revolver in the photos for only $ 399.00. Not transferable to civilian residents of California, District of Colombia, or Massachusetts.
