More than any other company, Kimber defines excellence in the 1911 Family of Pistols. This specimen is one of only 1050 made, the Pro Carry II 1911 NRA Gun of the Year for 2015. Manufacturer is Kimber of America in Yonkers, NY. Type is 1911 semi automatic pistol. Construction is steel barrel, slide, and parts, and alloy trigger assembled into a Commander Size lightweight alloy full length grip frame. Barrel is bushingless heavy stainless, six groove left hand 1:16 match grade. Slide is serrated rear, with full length stainless guide rod. Sights are dovetailed black blade front and dovetailed modified Novak combat black rear, with 5.7 inch sight radius. Trigger is .245 serrated face, skeletonized white coated alloy with overtravel adjustment, factory set at 5 3/4 pounds with no felt creep. Hammer is skeletonized steel serrated Commander type. Slide release is checkered serration, with extended serrated left side main safety for right handed shooters. Grip safety is modified beavertail, with C type alloy checkered serration mainspring housing. Grips are NRA Logo rosewood laminate, with Crimson Trace Laser mounted into the right panel and on-off switch in the left panel. Width is 1.28 inches at the port, or 1.61 from the main safety to the Laser’s barrel. Overall length is 7 1/2 inches, with a height of 5 1/2 inch. This pistol is furnished with One factory 7 shot magazine, but will accept any 1911 type .45 ACP Mag. Weight empty is 29 3/4 ounces, with center of gravity at the magazine release. This specimen comes to us from a local West Tennessee Friends of NRA Auction. Serial number is 450 range out of only 1050. It is in its original box with all its papers, grease, and wrench. It was only handled during the auction, and it has never been loaded or transferred to any consumer. Laser has been operated for fewer than 15 minutes. This pistol and its mates commonly fetch bids in excess of $3,000. We’re offering the Kimber NRA Gun of the Year for 2015 in the photos, however, for only $ 2589.00.
