They have become an investment grade gun with the prices continuing to climb as they are never going to come back into production and be the same hand fit and tuned "Rolls Royce" level of gun that they once were. As you examine this revolver keep in mind that the early guns without the "letter" prefix are far more desirable than the later guns, and hence command a higher dollar. The box and paperwork add value as well. This gun, sn28196 made in 1961, sports a 6" barrel and comes complete with the original box, papers, and cleaning brush. It has been shot but has been well cared for and retains 99% of its brilliant high polish Colt blue finish, with the original walnut grips and Colt medallion. There is a drag line and a bit of wear at the tip of the muzzle, but otherwise in outstanding condition. The box is a bit tattered but is all there. What a delightful gun to shoot targets with the soft shooting .38 Special, then have at your bedside loaded with .357 Magnums for protection. That is one nice thing about having a Python that has been fired a bit...you can enjoy its use as it appreciates in value. Just keep it clean and well cared for.
