Chambering is 3 inch, also curiously marked with a small factory stamp 3 digit between the 3/4 and the word Shells. This bright blue factory Remington Barrel also has the words Duck / Goose beneath the chamber lettering. Date code is K O, manufactured in May of 1977. This barrel comes to us from an estate here in West Tennessee, and it has seen moderate amounts of action in the Forked Deer River basin, part of the Mississippi Flyway for waterfowl. Operation streaking to the finish from forend contact is minimal, only a thin 4 inch streak on the left side of the barrel beneath its lettering. There is a minimal amount of whitening as well to the rear edges of purplish-hued barrel lug. Bottom rear of barrel shows faint whitening from insertion and removal, and there is very faint case contact whitening on the edges of the muzzle and rib. We rate this 34 inch Full 870 Wingmaster Magnum barrel as Excellent, since we estimate that no more than 10 percent of its surfaces are affected by any kind of surface wear. Photos, at any rate, should suffice for shoppers to judge finish grade for themselves. Bore and chamber are bright, clean, and excellent.
