Italian date code on this Investarm Hawken .50 caliber is AP, manufactured that year. This is a premium grade Italian Hawken with Blue Steel Octagonal 29 inch barrel, solid brass furniture, double set triggers, genuine figured Italian Walnut stock, windage and elevation adjustable rear sight with beaded blade front sight, and color casehardened hammer and lock plate. This one has undergone some bore neglect; bore exhibits etchiness but no conspicuous pits. Rifling on these is 1:52, the most versatile rate of twist that will accommodate round balls, maxi bullets, or even sabot loads. Surface detractions other than we have mentioned are only moderate. Nipple area exhibits some residue, and the case colored finish is somewhat weakened on the hammer. Wood exhibits only moderate amounts of use scouring here and there. We rate this Investarm Hawken as Very Good, eighty percent range finishwise; photos, at any rate, ought to suffice for our distinguished shoppers to judge finish grade for themselves. Lockwork mechanism is excellent and the sight adjustments are too. Weight empty is a well balanced 8 pounds.
