This listing is for the exact pistol in the photos. Here is Sig Sauer’s P229 smaller sized pistol chambered in .357 Sig caliber. Type is hammer fired, metal frame, traditional single and double action semiautomatic pistol. Manufacturer and warrantor is Sig Sauer of Exeter, NH, combined German parts from the Eckenforde plant, and US made parts. Production date was April of 2008, attest the AM serial number Prefix, and the box date. It was issued then, in Chief Kenny Winslow's Inaugural Year and served under him until its retirement in 2016. Slide is stainless steel and so marked, 1.12 wide at the port, with serrated rear laterals and one piece full length guide rod. Sights are steel dovetailed front and rear, three dot Siglite Night Sights. Barrel is 3 13/16 inch, six groove right hand 1: 16 rifling. Trigger is .370 smooth faced steel, pulls double action at 11 pounds vicinity, with a short 1 inch of travel. Single action pull on the photo specimen gauged at 5 1/2 pounds on its two stage pull, with moderate felt creep and overtravel. Box is marked SRT, Short Trigger, per Department Specs. Hammer is short serrated spur .315. Sigs do not have or need a manually operated safety, the decocker lever puts the car in park to end any firing session. Magazine is factory issue Italian steel bodied, polymer follower 12 rounder with short finger rest, so 12 + 1 fully loaded capacity. Grips are Crimson Trace Laser, fully operable with fresh battery pack. Overall length is 7 1/16 inches from the muzzle to the grip frame strut. Height is 5 3/8 inches from the floorplate heel to the top of the rear sight. Weight empty is 33 1/8 ounces with center of gravity at the breech face. Finish is durable black Nitron throughout. Note the well executed Department seal from the Springfield Police Department atop the slide forward of the rear sight. Surface detractions are moderate, principally wear to the grip frame's front strap, to the edges, lateral wear on the grip surfaces, and operation wear on the barrel. We rate this P229 as Very Good condition, 80 percent vicinity by our estimate, but photos ought to suffice for our distinguished shoppers to judge finish grade for themselves. Bore, chamber, and mechanism are all bright and clean. We estimate this pistol was fired fewer than 600 times for annual qualification by the Springfield P.D. That is no rounds at all for a Sig.
