Special Order 44-40 cal BoreVG has strong rifling but fine pitting. Mech Exc, Wood near excellent with 40% original varnish, forarm has metal endcap. Stock has original iron buttplate. Has nice wood to metal fit. Has a 28” heavy (15/16” at the muzzle) Oct barrel with 44CTGE marked on the underside ahead of the forend. Has special order rear sight and original front sight. The receiver has the Remington Address and patent dates on the top tang and is a oct receiver. Has a Special Order Single Set trigger. Serial#2429 matching the barrel. Metal overall has traces of some fine pitting and has a couple small dings on the left side of the barrel 8” ahead of the receiver. The barrel has a faded original blue finish and the receiver has the mottled look of old case coloring. Shoots a 2 ½” group at 50 yds.
