Description: Here is a very credible specimen of Navy Arms’s earliest collaboration with Armi San Marco of Italy. Date code AB identifies its manufacture year with our national Bicentennial Year, 1976. At the time, Navy Arms was competing heavily with F.I.E., at the time a heavier-volume importer. The strength of the steel frame on the 1858 Remington, its cylinder interchangeability, and its influence on development of the Colt Single Action army all made it a more highly regarded black powder revolver than its Colt Navy competitors that FIE sold so many of. By the mid 1980s, FIE had reorganized and closed out its black powder lines altogether, and Mr. Forgett’s Company, Navy Arms, was the chief importer. This is one of the revolvers that helped accomplish that. This particular 1858 Remington comes to us from an estate in Southern Illinois. Its surface detractions are minimal, moderate cylinder rotation marking, and faint small areas of whitening on its edges and grip panels. We rate it as a strong Very Good, perhaps even Excellent specimen since no more than 15 percent of its surfaces are affected by wear in our estimation. Photos, at any rate, should suffice for prospective owners to judge finish grade for themselves. Bore and cylinder chambers are bright, clean, and excellent, no indications of any pitting at all; and the cylinder times correctly in all six positions. Other specs are single action percussion revolver, entire blue steel construction with brass trigger guard; 7 1/2 inch octagonal barrel; walnut grip panels with brass escutcheons; blue steel 6 x 1mm nipples. Weight empty is 41 3/8 ounces. Replacement pricing on this NA / ASM 1858 Remington .44’s descendants is currently upwards of $400 in our area. We’re offering this very attractive, serviceable and collectable 1976 variant, however, for only $ 259.95. Hawaii, New Jersey and New York City civilians must transfer through an FFL. Don't let your buddies use your account. Registered user must be the buyer, with his or her own money. Buying firearms and related items for other people can result in felony charges. Don't try, either, to circumvent any law; for example, a California civilian may not buy a high capacity magazine and have it shipped to his brother-in-law in Nevada. That is a felony.
GA Pay buyers are NOT charged until we confirm we have the item and are ready to ship it. The same thing is true for phone-in, fax-in, and mail-in payments. In this respect, and in several others, Guns America outshines all its competitors. This is the best firearms website there is, hands down.
