Here is an excellent reincarnation of the fabled Winchester 1892 Trapper with the Chuck Connors style Large Loop Lever, a Rossi 92 chambered in .357 Caliber, manufactured in Brazil by Rossi and imported by Taurus’s Braztech wing in Miami. Its only departure from the classic 1892 design is a hammer block safety, mounted unobtrusively on top of the bolt just forward of the hammer. Metal is entirely blue steel, including the butt plate. Forend and buttstock are Brazilian Hardwood. Weight is a pleasantly balanced 6 pounds empty. Barrel is 16 inches long, and capacity is 8+1 rounds of .357 Magnum or .38 Special ammunition. Weight empty is only 6 pounds, and overall length is a compact 34 3/8 inches. This particular rifle comes to us from a Georgia Educator who traded for a long barrel version. Surface detractions are minimal to negligle, two tiny streaks on the forend and three small white streaks on the upper right flat of the receiver. We rate it as Excellent, perhaps Near Mint, 95 percent vicinity by our estimate. Photos, at any rate, ought to suffice for our shoppers to judge finish grade for themselves. It is excellent mechanically; bore, chamber, and mechanism are all bright, clean, and excellent. We estimate it has been fired fewer than 20 times. From its K281000 range serial number, we estimate this 92 was manufactured in 2004 or 2005, before Rossi began installing the Taurus patented locks into their hammers.
