Description: Here is an eminently viable Smith & Wesson Combat Masterpiece, numbered model 15-3, manufactured in 1975 from its 8K90,000 range serial number. It has been professionally refinished with DuPont Teflon, a finish that is more durable and maintenance-free than Stainless Steel. Many of its mates were finished with a similar texture known as Nitex during the 1970s, so this configuration is period correct in a sense. .265 service width hammer and trigger have the same finish. The only residual detractions from its service years are etchy places on the left side of the frame between the cylinder and trigger, and another small place on the same side of the frame between the trigger guard and grip frame. Double action trigger pull is smooth and consistent, and the cylinder times correctly, at or slightly before the break, in all six positions. On single action, the hammer travels an additional 15 to 20 degrees on all six after the cylinder times, and single action trigger pull measures a tight but crisp 4 7/8 pounds. Blast effect to the under side of the frame top strap directly above the barrel’s forcing cone is negligible; a thin short streak with no depth that traverses less than 1/4 of the width of the top strap. Lateral play to the cylinder is negligible, less than 1/2mm with the trigger relaxed; with the trigger fully depressed there is no movement or endshake at all. Cylinder face to forcing cone gap is a tight-fitting .004, and this helps explain the absence of blast effect. Bore, cylinder chambers, and mechanism are all bright, clean, and excellent. We rate this 15-3 as Excellent / Refinished. Photos, at any rate, ought to suffice for prospective owners to judge finish grade for themselves. Grips are new replacement Hogue Combat. Other specs are blue steel revolver, 6 shot capacity, caliber .38 Special, 4 inch barrel with windage and elevation adjustable rear sights, and ribbed barrel with black ramp front sight. Weight empty is 35 1/2 ounces empty. To the best of our knowledge, its law enforcement career was located in the Bay Area of California. We’re offering this attractive, eminently serviceable Nixon Era model 15-3 for only $ 369.95. Not transferable to civilians in California, D.C., or Massachusetts.

Don't let your buddies use your account. Registered user must be the buyer, with his or her own money. Buying firearms and related items for other people can result in felony charges. Don't try, either, to circumvent any law; for example, a California civilian may not buy a high capacity magazine and have it shipped to his brother-in-law in Nevada. That is a felony.
GA Pay buyers are NOT charged until we confirm we have the item and are ready to ship it. The same thing is true for phone-in, fax-in, and mail-in payments. In this respect, and in several others, Guns America outshines all its competitors. This is the best firearms website there is, hands down.
