The bore is Fair with some minor pitting. The metal is in Excellent condition with NO pitting. The barrel is about 90%, just starting to brown, the tube is mostly brown. The receiver remains blue in protected areas. The wood has not been refinished or tampered with. Overall, this is a very pleasing rifle in original condition. This is an investment grade Antique Rifle that would be a great addition to any Winchester collection. It would be very difficult to find an earlier rifle in equal condition. Far too good for restoration, don’t even consider it.
