The only surface detractions are faint to moderate holster contact on the sharp edges and flat sides of the slide. Barrel is 4 inches long, and weight empty with magazine is 25 1/4 oz. This 99 has the innovative decocking bar on its slide in order to return the pistol's first shot to a longer, more deliberate trigger pull; otherwise, with the mechanism set, the trigger pull is more akin to conventional single action. This pistol is excellent mechanically; bore, chamber, and mechanism are all bright, clean, and excellent. Replacement price on the current production P-99's is over $700 apiece.
