Description: Photo shows the first 226 we’ve ever had chambered in the .357 Sig Caliber. This good looking pistol comes to us from one of our veteran Pennsylvania shooter friends who was ready for a subcompact. It is not date coded since it has an American slide, made in Exeter, NH; but from its U507000 range serial number, it was manufactured in 1995, the First Year of Production for the 226 in Sig’s own caliber. The .357 Sig caliber’s popularity and novelty has long since peaked, but it is still a viable and popular caliber. Despite market fluctuations, one thing has not changed since we began dealing Sigs almost 40 years ago: Sig quality. Here is what the factory says: The Sig Sauer P226 is the pistol that set the standard by which all other combat handguns are measured. Designed as Sig entrant in the military trials to replace the 1911, today the P226 is in use by the U.S. Navy Seals, Federal agents, and numerous law enforcement agencies including the Texas Rangers, Ohio State Highway Patrol and the Michigan State Police to name a few. The exceptional ergonomics and balance make this full size pistol easy to handle. . . its longer barrel yields better ballistic performance and accuracy. We offer our amen and respect to the Sig. This specimen is furnished with its two original ban period factory 10 round magazines, only 2 rounds different from stock 12 rounders, both made by Mec-Gar for Sig and with the factory marking in the .357 Sig caliber. .40 caliber Sig 226 magazines will work fine, of course. Classification is what S&W calls traditional double action, double action from the decocked position on the first shot, and then single action on subsequent shots during the firing session. The Sig 226, of course, does not have a manually operated safety. It has a decocker lever to put the car in park. Sig has a firing pin block safety that prevents accidental discharge if the pistol is dropped, yet even with that, Sigs have the best single action trigger pull of all from the factory. Weight empty is 34 ounces; finish is black stainless; barrel length is 4.40 inches; and it has the conventional dovetailed white bar rear and white dot front sights. Sig Pistols, including this 226, are always point of aim from the factory. Sometimes operator adjustment is necessary, but rarely sight adjustment. Surface detractions on this 226 are minimal, only faint buffing to the lower right grip panel, and moderate slide buffing on the outer barrel surface. We rate it as Excellent in Box, since by our estimate no more than 5 percent of its surfaces show any wear. Photos, at any rate, ought to suffice for our distinguished shoppers to judge finish grade for themselves. It is certainly excellent mechanically; bore, chamber, and mechanism are all bright, clean, and excellent. From its condition and our conversations with its exclusive owner, we estimate it has been fired fewer than 500 rounds, barely enough to break it in. It is in its original gray factory case with both magazines, instruction manual, and a California Compliant cable lock. Replacement price in our area on these fine pistols, if a person can even find one, is upwards of $1,000 apiece. We're offering the .357 Sig caliber P-226 pistol in the photos, however, for only $ 569.00 >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> $10 lower 48; $30 Alaska, Hawaii or Puerto Rico, USPS Priority Mail, insured with Delivery Confirmation. Don't let your buddies use your account. Registered user must be the buyer, with his or her own money. Buying firearms and related items for other people can result in felony charges. Don't try, either, to circumvent any law; for example, a California civilian may not buy a high capacity magazine and have it shipped to his brother-in-law in Nevada. That is a felony.
GA Pay buyers are NOT charged until we confirm we have the item and are ready to ship it. The same thing is true for phone-in, fax-in, and mail-in payments. In this respect, and in several others, Guns America outshines all its competitors. This is the best firearms website there is, hands down.
