Fox C Grade guns are considered by many to be the most attractively finished Fox guns made. There are higher grades with prettier wood and checkering, but the C Grade engraving is very tastefully executed. This Philly Fox, sn16431 built in 1911, is one of the finest CE's you will ever see, with all factory original parts, highly figured French walnut, lots of factory case color, and very deep, well executed engraving with an unusually detailed English Setter in the bottom vignette. This is not the typical CE that has been used hard and is a run of the mill gun, but something special. It matches the order card exactly, and Vintage Firearms restored the wood and reblued the barrels. The receiver case color is factory original. The early Fox guns are considered the best, while Ansley himself was keeping quality at its peak. A great shooting gun that is a sound investment, sure to increase in value as you enjoy its use.
