William Powell No. 3 Best Boxlock Ejector, Made in 1989, 12 bore, 2 3/4" chambers, 3 1/4 tons nitro proof, 28" fluid steel chopper lump barrels choked .006 Skt and .020 Mod., 6 lbs. 6 oz., 15" LOP to checkered butt, 1 1/2" DAC, 2 1/4" DAH, 1/4" cast off for right hand shooters, double triggers, scalloped action with automatic safety with "Safe" in gold, straight grip, splinter forend, narrow concave game rib engraved "William Powell & Son, 35 Carrs Lane, Birmingham", chambers .728, barrel wall thickness .032 and .035, highly figured walnut with very high contrast with drop points and fine checkering, fine English scroll engraving with rose bouquet accents, near 100% original case colors with vibrant blue tones, comes with it's original high quality leather motor case featuring burgundy cloth and a maker's paper label, included are an ebony cleaning rod and Powell snap caps and case keys. Excellent near new condition gun with original owner's initials in the gold oval. This was and is William Powell's best quality boxlock and along with Westley Richards, the best quality boxlock still being made today in Birmingham. The cost of this gun new is well over $30,000.
