Description: New Bell & Carlson Medalist fiberglass tactical / varmint stock for use with Howa 1500 short action or Weatherby Vanguard short action. Full-length aluminum bedding block and adjustable cheek-piece. Green with black webbing. Pachmayr Decelerator pad. For heavier barrel contours.

This stock is brand new and unused. I purchased it new from Stocky's for $415 just a few weeks ago. In addition to the factory pillar bedding, it has been professionally glass bedded (additional $125 value) by my gunsmith for use with my Howa 1500 (6.5 Creedmoor - shown) with a heavy (No 6) barrel contour. I left the bedding alone, but if you prefer it without, please let me know and I would be happy to remove the epoxy bedding material before shipping.

I also had my gunsmith relieve a small amount of the interior bridge near the trigger to make room for a Timney drop-in trigger, as there was a slight difference in the dimension of the Timney that required this, so now it works for both the Timney and the factory (HACT) trigger. That work was done to the interior (not visible) with a milling machine for a very clean line.

As you can see from the pictures, even the No 6 contour barrel completely free floats, and as you can also see from pictures of the barrel channel, no rasping of the barrel channel was necessary to accomplish the free float.

This is a great stock, very comfortable and ergonomic. It weighs in at 3 lb, 5.5 oz.

The reason I'm selling is that I decided to use my rifle for PRS matches, and therefore to use detachable box magazines. You CAN use detachable box magazines with this stock, but you have to purchase the correct aftermarket bottom metal and use appropriate magazines. I preferred to avoid that exercise, so I purchased a chassis and now I have an extra stock because the glass bedding, even though an improvement, renders it unreturnable.

It is more comfortable than the chassis I purchased to replace it. If you're willing to get the bottom metal, or don't need detachable magazines, then this stock is hands down better, and with the glass bedding will probably shoot more accurately than any chassis. For bench rest, recreational, and hunting, I like it better than the chassis. The adjustable cheek piece is very useful. Seekins Precision makes a picatinny rail section (PRS, 3") that fits in place of the current swivel studs, for use of bipod if desired.

Rifle not for sale of course -- just included with some pictures to give better idea how this looks with the barreled action.
