Description: We fondly remember our good old friend, Mr. James Hollis Glover, late of Baldwyn, Mississippi. James Hollis traded with us from shortly after we opened in the 1950s until his untimely death a decade ago. Mr. James was an expert knifemaker in his own right; but more than any other American, James Hollis was responsible for a massive wave of Pakistani-made pocket knives that fairly saturated the Southern and Midwestern markets during the late 1980s and early 1990s. He even sent his supplier plant managers by to visit us when they were in country. Mr. Glover’s knife brand was White Tail Cutlery, slick made and good looking knives with his trademark inked on the obverse of the main blade and the word Pakistan on the reverse. This is one of Mr. James’s genuine stag Copperhead styles. Bolster, blade, liner, and backspring material are all brushed stainless. White tail logo, backspring rivet, and handle panel rivets are solid brass. Blades are, as the photos show, conventional clip main blade on the reverse side and extended spey or skinner secondary blade in front. Both blades measure 2 7/8 inches from heel to point. While the Pakistani steel was nowhere near the quality of its U.S., German, or Japanese competitors, the star of the show on this one is its genuine stag handle panels. Most of the Case Stag whose knives are so prized and so collectable are from the same country and the exact same material, just a little slicker finished than this one’s. Despite the storage grime, this knife is excellent, near mint by our estimate; and those measurements are factory original. It has not ever been sharpened, only stored with a collection for the past 20 years or so. Backspring strength is excellent, and fit and finish is better than other Pakistani knives from the period. The present flood of Chinese made knives, of course, spelled the death knell not only for White Tail Cutlery and Pakistani producers, but also for almost all U.S. Made modestly priced cutlery. That flood is so extensive that resale on China made knives is nil. We will not even pay $1.00 apiece for any of them. We’re offering this fine Pakistani Mississippian specimen, however, for only $ 20.00. We do not sell knives to civilians under 21 years of age. Most knives with blades over 3 inches are illegal to carry on Federal Property. All knives are illegal to transport on airlines. No shipments of knives with blades over 3 inches to civilians in New York unless we have a copy of your current New York hunting license. No knife shipments to civilians in Chicago or New York City. Knoxville Tennessee residents must furnish Weapons Carry Permit for fixed blade hunting knives or copy of Police Commission Identification. By offering to buy any of our knives, buyer certifies that he/she is 21 years of age and is not prohibited by federal, state, or local laws from possessing that specific knife or knives. >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Grips, Magazines, slings, holsters, scopes, mounts, parts & most any small light items, entire accessory orders only $10.00 total shipping no matter how many a person buys. $10.00 for an entire order, Not $10.00 per item or anything of the sort. $20 Flat Fee on magazine orders to Alaska, Hawaii, or Puerto Rico, and gun parts to PR civilians must ship to an FFL. Don't let your buddies use your account. Registered user must be the buyer, with his or her own money. Buying firearms and related items for other people can result in felony charges. Don't try, either, to circumvent any law; for example, a California civilian may not buy a high capacity magazine and have it shipped to his brother-in-law in Nevada. That is a felony.
GA Pay buyers are NOT charged until we confirm we have the item and are ready to ship it. The same thing is true for phone-in, fax-in, and mail-in payments. In this respect, and in several others, Guns America outshines all its competitors. This is the best firearms website there is, hands down.
