- SALE PENDING - Here is a Browning Automatic Rifle Grade V BAR in .30-06 with a 2-7x Browning scope with fine crosshairs. These top of the line Grade V's were only made for 3 years, 1971-1974, in a very limited quantity of a little over 500, in 5 standard calibers. It has spectacular engraving by Master Engraver L.Ernst who engraved and signed both sides of the Gold Inlaid game scenes and Bleau who signed the left side scroll work. These scenes were designed by Louis Vrancken, who also designed the similar engraved Midas Grade Superposed, complete with gold line inlaid around the scenes. If these were bolt action Brownings, the Grade V would be 1 grade higher than an Olympian which was the top of 3 grade of the Brownings Bolt actions. Of course the Olympian had no Gold Inlays, and Olympian prices are averaging twice what I am selling this one for and there were 2600 Olympians produced. This 1st year BAR appears not to have been shot, and I find no issues that would make it less than in 100% original condition. If you want to own one of the rarest production Brownings, this is it, and it is still ready and inexpensive enough to take out hunting. You won't be disappointed. Merry Christmas!
