On this specific variant, service size M&P with magazine safety, the M&P leaves its arch-competitor Glock in the shade. This is the standard service size M&P, 4 1/2 inch barrel with full size integral rail polymer frame and a total of 3 magazines of 10+1 rounds of firepower capacity. In addition to its magazine safety, this M&P has the basic trigger safety and firing pin safety. Specs are as follows. Weight empty, no magazine, is 27.7 oz; weight fully loaded will be a bit over 30 ounces. Maximum overall length is 7.5 inches; 5 3/8 inch height; and very nice thin 1.2 inch width. Barrel length is 4 1/4 inches with a 6 1/2 inch sight radius. This pistol, like all M&Ps, is full time double action, striker fire action, with a very consistent 6.5 pound trigger pull that only travels .300 inches from rest to fire and resets in only .14 inches. Frame is Zytel Polymer, and barrel and slide are Black Melonite finished stainless. The frame, as the photos show, incorporates a Picatinny Weaver type rail for light and laser mounting. Sights are rapid resolution factory Trijicon luminous Night Sights. Each MP-45 comes with three different backstrap inserts to allow maximum control and adaptability to individual shooters. M&P series has a fully ambidextrous magazine release setup; it is as easy to switch sides on it as a Beretta 92. The M&P series takes all comers for ease of handling, positive feel, and reliability and consistency under the most adverse field and combat situations. It comes with a total of 3 each 10 shot magazines, its factory red cable lock, its original box, both extra interchangeable mainspring housing grip backstrap covers, and its fired brass case. This M&P 45 variant commands retail prices in our area upwards of $700 apiece, if a person can even find one. Factory product code is 307607, basically the same as the civilian series 109607, only with an extra third magazine. Note that these pistols may come in a blue factory case or a black one, box coloration is transitional from blue to black.
