Description: The Medalist was designed for the serious competitor who demands faultless accuracy. Meticulous attention is accorded the fitting of every part to assure smooth, precision function. One of the most beautiful, accurate, reliable, and adjustable handguns ever made!

The accuracy level of the Medalist is legendary and certainly enough to win bullseye matches with ease, assuming the shooter does his job.

The Medalist is indeed bred for target shooting, from its contoured walnut grip with thumbrest to its medium-heavy vent-rib 7" barrel to its broad, adjustable gold-plated trigger to its fully adjustable micrometer sights. And it's got something else that's essential for a serious rimfire target pistol a dry-fire mechanism permitting--with the safety in its forward position--a partial hammer fall with each pull of the trigger. A slight pressure on the safety latch (after each trigger pull) quickly recocks the hammer.

The Medalist comes with three separate counterweights weighing 2.52 ounces, 1.79 ounces and .94 ounce. The counterweight support itself weighs 2.41 ounces. To install the counterweight system, first loosen the forearm screw, and remove the forearm. Slide the counterweight support into the dovetail slot in the bottom of the barrel, with the counterweight-screw hole toward the muzzle, and tighten the counterweight support screw to secure it into place. The desired counterweight can then be selected and screwed into the counterweight support.

The adjusting screw to regulate the trigger pull is located on the rear face of the frame. Turning the screw in a counter-clockwise direction lightens the trigger pull; turning it clockwise increases it. The adjusting screw to regulate trigger backlash is located in the top surface of the trigger. Turning it clockwise decreases backlash.

The micrometer rear sight is click-adjustable for both horizontal and vertical correction. Each click, horizontal or vertical, equals one minute of angle.

The shell deflector is a small pin at the top of the grip on the right side. It's designed to send spent cartridge cases in a forward direction rather than at an angle that could interfere with another shooter. The deflector is a friction-fit pin and may be removed easily when not needed.

In great condition, and given a lot of care over the years. Still a mystery why great masterpieces like this are not longer in production.
