This is a Late 18th Early 19th Century Spanish Colonial Long Sword. During this time period, the Spanish took old blades of the old swords and retooled to suit their needs with more modern hand grips, usually the D type guards. They also would typically cut the blades down, and even give them a more curved point. These swords were used in their Colonies, and quite a few ended up in the early Mexico. This one is not typically since it is still in the Medieval "long sword" style. The double handed guard appears to be a later piece, likely an addition during the Victorian era. Blade possibly dates earlier than the Late 18th Century. Blade is thin, and very sharp.
Blade is etched on each side with "Nomes Saues Sin Razon" and "No Me Embaines Sin Honor". Only part of the "No Me Embaines Sin Honor" is legible.
