Description: As soon as Ruger introduced the P-85 in 1987, we couldn’t help but notice, they’re ugly. Part of that comes from the late Mr. Ruger’s German background; after all, these are close kin to the Walther P-38. We’ve always liked the weight, 32 ounces compared to steel frame Hi-Powers and Smith & Wesson 5906 weights in the 40 ounce neighborhood. Our local folk, including poor honest police officers, put great stock in the P-89’s safety features, their firing pin safeties and their ambidextrous decocking safety the puts the car in park, so to speak, and leaves it there; the Ruger’s safety, however, leaves the pistol readily accessible due to its on-slide placement. The one piece beveled end metal guide rod ensures accuracy and uniform lockup even with a very dirty gun, and the close lateral tolerances on the barrel-to-slide fit guards against windage errors during firing sessions. This P-89 comes with both its Pre-Ban 15 round magazines, and Ruger magazines are the least expensive of all domestic pistols of quality. For our Southpaw shooters, the Ruger’s magazine release doesn’t need reprogramming, it comes from the factory fully ambidextrous. And most important, Ruger 9mms have always digested anything you put in them, from sloppy crimped lead semi-wadcutter reloads to steel case Russian to the finest match grade Federal rounds. Anything. The Ruger will shoot anything. They always ignite CCI Primers, Remington Primers, anybody’s primers. They are incredibly simple to disassemble and reassemble, not, mind you, that they won’t shoot dirty. Other specs are: traditional double- and single-action semi-auto pistol; 4 inch stainless barrel and slide; capacity 15 + 1 rounds of 9mm ammunition; .315 short spur stainless Commander type hammer; .400 wide smooth face combat trigger, anodized alloy frame with stainless barrel, steel internal parts; lanyard ring equipped mainspring plug; three dot drift-only adjustable sights. Here is a Ruger Blue P-89, factory number simply P-89. It was manufactured in the First Year of Production, 1993, from its 305 prefix serial number. It has extensive surface scouring and scratching from its decade and a half of service protecting our fellow citizens on the Atlantic Coast. Grips are replacement rubber. It is Very Good mechanically, could use an internal mechanism cleaning - this pistol actually came to us with its bore pretty clean; only some superficial spotting and rust on the magazine surfaces. Finishwise, we rate it Good at best, since half or more of its finish is affected by wear; but photos should suffice for prospective owners to judge finish grade for themselves. We’re offering this serviceable, ugly Ruger for only $ 219.95. Not transferable to civilians in Chicago, Cleveland OH, Cincinnati, Massachusetts, or New York City. Since the magazines are original Pre-Ban, they are transferable to civilians in Massachusetts and Upstate New York. For civilian buyers in jurisdictions with magazine capacity restrictions, including California, D.C., Hawaii, Puerto Rico and Toledo OH, $5.00 off and freight paid but no magazines.

Don't let your buddies use your account. Registered user must be the buyer, with his or her own money. Buying firearms and related items for other people can result in felony charges. Don't try, either, to circumvent any law; for example, a California civilian may not buy a high capacity magazine and have it shipped to his brother-in-law in Nevada. That is a felony.
GA Pay buyers are NOT charged until we confirm we have the item and are ready to ship it. The same thing is true for phone-in, fax-in, and mail-in payments. In this respect, and in several others, Guns America outshines all its competitors. This is the best firearms website there is, hands down.
