From the estate of one of our Southern Fertilizer Scientists comes this pristine Smith & Wesson .2 Rimfire Single-Action Target Pistol, numbered Model 41, manufactured in 1969, one of the last fully traditional 41s with the Muzzle Brake and without serial number prefix. Number is 114,000 range. Apart from one single blemish to the right grip panel, its only surface detractions are minimal. There is some very faint whitening to the blue steel safety lever, and faint amounts of age dulling to the walnut grip panels. Right panel’s rear edge has a small concave groove in its rear extremity. The only part of this set that is not original 1969 is one of the magazines, a 12 rounder manufactured in the early 1990s but still factory Smith & Wesson. This pistol has its original box, and the owner taped the lid where it was fraying. Extra guide rod, flat platic muzzle piece, original cleaning rod with nylon brush and even the rod wrapper are included. Manual is original as well. We rate this 41 as Excellent despite the blemish to the grip panel. The late owner was a meticulous chemical engineer and maintained his firearms very, very well.
