Description: We have a photo of our proprietor emeritus taken in 1917 holding his Stevens Crackshot #26 boys rifle. Production began in 1913 of this popular and desireable rifle, and it was sadly discontinued in 1941. We estimate that this one came midways through that period, late 1920s to early 1930s. Its home domicile was in the Sooner Lake area of Oklahoma, and it is better preserved than many we have seen. Finish is textured brown patina over the barrel and lever, and the receiver still has some hints of the original nickel near its screws and on the take-down screw. Barrel measures 17 7/8 inches, and the steel fixed rear sight and brass blade front sight are original. Buttstock and forend show only moderate scouring and edge wear. There is a substantial amount of weathering at the point where the steel buttplate fits the stock. Upper grip area of the stock shows two hairline cracks about 1 inch length with no separation evidence; and only one similar crack on the under side behind the receiver tang. Bore has about 30 percent light pitting, no deep pitting, and the rifling is still strong. Lever has about 3/4 inches of lateral play, but it is operative. The hammer stands under pressure, and firing pin, spring, and extractor all look good. We have test fired this rifle and it functions correctly and pulls the spent cases back to the proper length. We rate it as Good finishwise, but photos should suffice for prospective owners to judge finish grade for themselves. We also rate it as Good mechanically. Length of pull is the original youth length 13 inches. Own this genuine and original #26 Crackshot for only $ 219.95. Don't let your buddies use your account. Registered user must be the buyer, with his or her own money. Buying firearms and related items for other people can result in felony charges. Don't try, either, to circumvent any law; for example, a California civilian may not buy a high capacity magazine and have it shipped to his brother-in-law in Nevada. That is a felony.
GA Pay buyers are NOT charged until we confirm we have the item and are ready to ship it. The same thing is true for phone-in, fax-in, and mail-in payments. In this respect, and in several others, Guns America outshines all its competitors. This is the best firearms website there is, hands down.
