The 28" barrels are 32 caliber rifled octagon on top and 12 gauge smooth bore round barrel on the bottom. Blade front and semi-buckhorn rear sight on the rifle barrel (see photos). The bores appear dark (I have not cleaned this gun or taken it apart). The wood stock is in good condition with no chips but has a small age crack midway of the engraved tang and the side plate (see photos). The tang is threaded for a "Lollipop" peep sight (see photos). The stock has a German Silver, flrush inlayed, two peice patch box, brass cresent butt and trigger guard. Steel receiver and engarved tang. The side lock is unmarked. Two iron barrel thimbles on each side for the two ram rods (see photos). The gun is 44" overall with 28" barrels. The single trigger works both hammers independently. The lock has a strong spring on both hammers and they function as they should. The top of the barrel is marked "J B TUBBS WATERLOO NY." At the sale they said J B TUBBS was a Waterloo New York gunsmith form 1813 to 1876. The metal has a very nice brown patina with some spotting on the barrels(see photos). The hickory wood ram rods have brass tips, one rifle and one shotgun (see photos).
