LG2562 At the time when this .303 Rifle was sporterized, they were extremely plentiful and not all that collectable. We used to trade them at $15 apiece a lot of the time. So many of them were sporterized during the 1950s – 1980s like this one. After all, the .303 is an excellent deer hunting round. Front sight is English marked, and it matches well with the rear aperture. Barrel has been cut and crowned professionally to hunting length 22 inches, and the stock has been modified on its forward section with the forend extensively altered. Wood finish is a very nice oil finished walnut, and the barrel appears to be professionally bedded. Surface wear to the metal is only moderate, with extensive whitening on the receiver area, but lots of strong bluing on the barrel, as the photos will show. Sling is a very nice, serviceable 1 1/4 inch military style leather. Bore, chamber, and mechanism are all bright, clean, and excellent. We’re offering this good old .303 Sporter, one that could be restored to jungle carbine configuration with some parts and talent, for only $ 219.95. Not C&R Eligible.
