Description: From Mr. Gaston Glock’s homeland of Austria comes one of the simplest, yet most advanced pistols in the world, the Steyr M40 chambered in .40 Smith & Wesson Caliber. The manufacturer is, of course, one of the oldest corporate names there is, and this pistol bears the full Steyr Mannlicher logo on its lower left grip frame. What is distinctive about this M40, more than any other competitor, is its 111 degree grip angle that, combined with its trapezoidal fixed sights, give it greater pointability than anything heretofore marketed. Type is striker fired semi-automatic pistol; construction is steel slide and internal parts with steel rails embedded in a high impact polymer frame. Weight empty is only 27 ounces. Slide finish is what the company calls Mannox, a finish that looks like military parkerized, but is more durable and 99 percent salt resistant. Polymer frame incorporates a Picatinny accessory rail. Barrel is 4 inch with conventional 8 groove rifling, capable of handling any .40 S&W ammunition. Overall length is 7 inches, from the muzzle to the rear of the grip frame strut; height 5 inches from the bottom of the magazine to the top of the rear sight; 1.10 slide thickness and 1.167 maximum frame thickness. Trigger is a relatively smooth, consistent 7-8 pound range, the same every shot. While the appearance is similar to its Glock neighbor, one improvement is the combination take down lever and internal lock, easier disassembly than the competitor. This pistol comes furnished with a total of two magazines, steel bodied LE Ban Period Law Enforcement marked rounders. It comes in its original box with instruction manual and cleaning kit. Serial number is 47000 range; and we estimate it was manufactured in 2002. It is not affected by any recall or problems like the Steyr USA specimens with numbers in the 3012000 – 3025000 range have. This specimen comes to us from one of our trader friends in Texas, its exclusive owner. It came from law enforcement channels. Surface detractions are negigible, only faint whitenin on the edge of the slide release tab, and very faint insertion and ejection whitening on the shoulders of one of the magazines. We rate it as Mint or Near Mint in Box, 98 – 99 percent vicinity by our estimate; but photos ought to suffice for our distinguished shoppers to judge finish grade for themselves. Normal retail pricing on this pistol in our area is upwards of $700.00, if a person can even find one. We’re offering the pristine M40A1 in the photos, however, for only $ 419.00. Not transferable to civilian residents of California, District of Colombia, or Massachusetts. For civilian buyers where 12 round magazines are restricted to Law Enforcement, $30 off but no magazines. 10 round magazines are readily available direct from Steyr Arms dot com. >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> $12 lower 48; $40 Alaska, Hawaii or Puerto Rico, USPS Priority Mail, insured with Delivery Confirmation. Don't let your buddies use your account. Registered user must be the buyer, with his or her own money. Buying firearms and related items for other people can result in felony charges. Don't try, either, to circumvent any law; for example, a California civilian may not buy a high capacity magazine and have it shipped to his brother-in-law in Nevada. That is a felony.
GA Pay buyers are NOT charged until we confirm we have the item and are ready to ship it. The same thing is true for phone-in, fax-in, and mail-in payments. In this respect, and in several others, Guns America outshines all its competitors. This is the best firearms website there is, hands down.
