This is the SW99 service size, .40 S&W Caliber, 13 shot with Factory Night Sights. It is in its original box with a total of two High Capacity 12 round magazines, manufactured in Italy by Mec-Gar for Smith & Wesson. Both magazines for each pistol are late ban period Law Enforcement marked, not an issue for the time being except for residents of California, Hawaii, Massachusetts, D.C., New York, and a few other urbanized jurisdictions. Fired brass cases are dated 2003; and the frames are marked Made in Germany. Factory Product Code is 320232. We consider this SW99 to be in Very Good, perhaps even Excellent, condition. Its only surface detractions are faint amounts of whitening on the night sights's edges, and faint scouring on the grip. Neither of these are conspicuous. Factory night sights are about 70 percent full strength by our estimate, perhaps even more. Since night sights normally retain their luminosity for 12 years, these Trijicons have plenty of good service left. Barrel is 3 3/8 inches long, and weight empty with magazine is 23 oz. Note the period appropriate flat blue S&W box, each in its original box. Replacement price on the SW99 QA, its closest descendant, is now upwards of $1,000 in our area.
