This rifle was made in the late 1800’s and was the standard German armed forces rifle through WWI until the Mauser Model 98 came into sufficient production numbers to effectively replace it. This rifle features an external barrel sleeve made out of metal that encases the entire barrel. The external sleeve has somepitting along the stock edge. The actual barrel has no pitting and is in very good condition. The stock is in good condition and has two loops to place a leather strap.
