Made in 1910, it has the standard 20 inch carbine barrel. The front sight is the post and blade, the rear is a Winchester #44A carbine ladder style that is intact and functions correctly. The bore is very good. I rate it a strong 6 to 7 on a 1 to 10 scale.There is some minor wear to the rifling but should be a fine shooter, take a look at the last photo for more detail. The barrel and magazine tube have 70% blue coverage that has a slight plum tint, but overall very good. The receiver is fine mechanically, feeds, chambers and ejects smoothly. Little original finish remains on the receiver, it turned silver long ago due to the high nickel steel Winchester used in the early rifles. The buttstock and forend are tight, solid and fit properly. There are no cracks or extra holes. There is a minor scrape on the upper left side of the buttstock at the buttplate which you can see in the photos, and a small sliver behind the saddle ring. The wood stands proud above all mating metal surfaces in buttplate, tangs and forend areas. It has not been refinished or sanded. It's hard to judge if the finish is original factory or linseed oil that's been added over the years, but it's smooth and clean. This vintage saddle ring is in a scarce caliber and would be great for hunting or adding to your collection.
