Mossberg & Sons of North Haven, CT. Construction is steel barrel, magazine tube, bolt, forend carriage assembly, trigger, and internal parts; with alloy receiver, safety, and trigger group assembly. Forend is full steel support serrated corn cob type. Finish is matte blue metal, with matching black polymer stock, forend, safety, bolt, and trigger group. Barrel is heavy 18 1/2 inch, .930 OSD at the Muzzle, .10 wall thickness, and .730 vicinity Cylinder Bore. Sights are welded base steel front, with dovetailed white dot blade; and screw attached steel Novak two dot fixed rear. All 12 and 20 gauge Mossberg receivers are drilled for Weaver #88 or 417 size optics bases or Mossberg 96200 rails for any Picatinny type light or optical device. Chambering is 2 3/4 inch or 3 inch 12 gauge shells interchangeably, with a magazine capacity of 5+1 on 2 3/4 inch, and 4 + 1 on 3 inch. 590 Magazines are open ended, readily accept magazine extensions. Forend is full length steel support serrated corn cob type. Safety is steel and alloy top tang type. Buttstock is Polymer with spring loaded cavities to hold 4 extra shells. Length of pull is 14 inches. Drop is standard 1.5x2.5, but the stock has No right hand cant, so this 590 is eminently southpaw friendly. Buttstock has a steel QD sling stud, and magazine cap is threaded, but no forward stud included. Trigger is .275 steel smooth faced, pulls two stage at 7 pound vicinity with minimal felt creep and moderate overtravel. Weight empty is 7 pounds 3 ounces, center of gravity at the breech face. Overall length is 38 1/2 inches. This 590 comes to us from Mossberg’s distribution system. We call it a factory demo. It served light duty, likely with a sales rep or writer. The letter U is stamped near its serial number. Surface detractions are minimal, only faint streaking on the magazine tube and trigger guard. We rate it as Excellent, 90 percent vicinity by our estimate, but photos ought to suffice for our distinguished shoppers to judge finish grade for themselves. Bore, chamber, and mechanism are all bright and clean. We estimate this Mossberg was fired fewer than 20 times, if at all. It comes in a factory box with protective padding, cable lock, NRA and NSSF flyers, and a factory instruction manual that includes Mossberg’s warranty statement.
