When Ruger introduced its K-77 Mark II All Weather Stainless Rifle in 1990, the company assumed another level of leadership among firearms manufacturers. The improved accuracy control of the barrel manufacturing process for the 77 Mark II put it ahead of Remington, Winchester, and Browning for accuracy, and here was an American Made All Stainless Hunting Rifle with no competitors until Winchester followed suit 2 years later, and then Remington in 1993. This K-77's serial number is 791-659xx, manufactured in 2005, a year or so before Ruger began calling them Hawkeyes, quite catchy. This .270 Stainless Ruger has the hard polymer Ruger Logo Stock and trademark Ruger KD-71H Scope Rings. Any surface detractions to this rifle are negligible. It is Excellent Throughout. The Nikon Silver ProStaff 3x9x40 mm Scope is excellent with no abrasions at all to its trademark green coatings. Scope model is 6311 Pro-Staff, plex crosshair. We rate this fine rifle and scope at 95 percent or better finishwise; photos, however, should suffice for interested parties to judge finish grade for themselves. Bore, chamber, mechanism, and bolt surfaces are all bright, clean, and excellent. This is a locally owned rifle and we do not believe it has been fired more than 40 rounds, if that many, all with Remington 130 grain factory Core-Lokt ammunition.
