The controls of the FNS-40 are fully ambidextrous. This includes the safety, slide release (or slide stop), and magazine release. Its ambidextrous nature is really what makes the FNS-40 stand out against the Glock and Springfield .40-caliber entries as those pistols are only partially ambidextrous. For example, the Glock .40-caliber Gen 4 models feature a reversible magazine catch but this requires disassembly of the gun. They do not have an “external” safety in the conventional sense and the slide release is one-sided. The XD pistols possess an ambidextrous magazine release but not an ambidextrous slide release or external safety. This makes the FN much more suitable for left handed shooters. This FNS-40 has never been owned or fired and is new old stock. The top of the barrel does exhibit minor finish wear due to slide racking for demo purposes, but this is the only thing that makes this gun new old stock as opposed to factory new. The pistol is equipped with night sights making it suitable for duty carry or home defense. The pistol comes with no less than three 14-round magazines. This gives the user a total of 43 rounds (42 in mags, one in chamber)! If you are a looking for a high quality, ambi pistol with multiple applications in mind, the FNS-40 is a fine choice.
