The Remington 241 Speedmaster was featured on the cover of Life Magazine in October 29, 1940 and pictured with the first man who was to be actually drafted into the U. S. Army at the start of World War II. This Remington 241 Speedmaster .22 cal long rifle only, has with it the original canvas camp carry case! This is the 22 caliber rifle that is a take down. The rifle is in very good condition and is an excellent shooter. If you want to have a rifle with the accuracy to shoot the spots off the Ace of clubs this is it. It will deliver a tight group time after time. The Walnut stock is one that will please you. It is in very good condition as you can see from the photos. The sn# dates it to mfg. 1941. The Remington 241 Speedmaster was first introduced in 1935 and discontinued in 1951. A total of 107,345 rifles were mfg during that time with the U.S. Goverment being one of the largest buyers. Between 1942 -1945 Remington supplied over 7,658 Model 241's to the U.S Government and an unknown number were sold to the U.S. Navy for training in 1944 and 1945.
