Here is an unusual variant of the tried-and-true 700 Remington, the #27478 model 700 SPS with factory Muzzle Brake. Specs are 22 inch barrel, 24 inches including the brake; Special Purpose weather resistant matte blue finish; ADL type graphite based SPS stock; 4 + 1 capacity with internal magazine; caliber .30-06 Springfield; classic matte steel windage and elevation adjustable sights; Remington internal bolt lock; adjustable serrated face trigger; weight empty 7 1/2 pounds. This 700 comes to us from one of our friends in California, and it has minimal surface wear. Rear mount area of the receiver shows a bit glossy from scope base contact, and there is a tiny streak on the metal finish of the chamber area of the barrel. We rate this rifle as Excellent, since less than 5 percent of its surfaces are affected by any kind of use evidence. Photos, at any rate, should suffice for prospective owners to judge finish grade for themselves. It is excellent mechanically; bore, chamber, and mechanism are all bright, clean, and excellent. This variant is the best combination of strength, accuracy, and reduced recoil of any 700 .30-06 ever. It comes to us with its original box, and from our knowledge of its exclusive retail owner and the condition of the rifle, it has been fired fewer than 40 rounds.
