The new 940 JM PRO shotgun is the latest evolution of Mossberg’s 100-year tradition of producing value-packed firearms at affordable prices. I was lucky enough to spend two days shooting the 940. I ran the 940 JM as fast and hard as I could, and it was still ready for more.

In 3-gun matches, shooters use a rifle, a pistol, and a shotgun. Any of the three present challenges, but loading a shotgun quickly tends to be a skill that separates those who win from those who do not.

I’m not a what you would call a “shotgun guy” but when an opportunity presented itself to try out an AK-style 12-gauge shotgun, I jumped at the chance. If you’ve ever used an AK, then this shotgun will still feel very familiar to you when you pick it up.

The CZ 712 G2 shotgun is excellent. You’ll love everything about it, especially if you get the Green version. The look and finish, the way it comes up and points, the feel as it shoots–it’s all terrific. Even CZ-USA’s customer service is top notch.

Don’t let appearances fool you, this is not a shotgun. It is something completely different. The 12 gauge Remington V3 Tac-13 is a 26.5-inch long semi-automatic firearm with a Raptor grip. Built on an aluminum receiver, it weighs under 6 pounds and holds up to five 2 3/4 inch shells in the tube magazine with one more in the chamber.

Law Enforcement was one of the obvious target audiences for this gun, and it shows. The 1301 Tactical features a slightly shorter receiver than the 1301 Competition, part of an overall size reduction. The stock is also slightly shorter, offering a 37.8 inch length of pull out of the box.

The TriStar KRX Tactical Shotgun is a serious player. With AR ergonomics and a box magazine, it is easy to load and simple to shoot. No matter what your sport, the KRX is ready to play. The advanced self-adjusting gas system feeds any shotgun ammo reliably and the removable choke system (Beretta/Benelli Mobile Threads) lets you pick your pattern, including extended tactical chokes.
