Levi Strauss CEO Goes Full Anti-Gun, Paying Employees to 'Volunteer' for Gun-Control Organizations

In the best attempt to date to unseat Edward Stack as the nation’s Virtue Signaler in Chief, Levi Strauss’s CEO Chip Bergh bravely announced this week his company’s support of “youth activists” working to end the “gun violence epidemic” in America and encouraged other “business leaders” to do the same.

“As business leaders with power in the public and political arenas, we simply cannot stand by silently when it comes to the issues that threaten the very fabric of the communities where we live and work,” he said in a recent op-ed published by Fortune. “While taking a stand can be unpopular with some, doing nothing is no longer an option.”

Naming his brand among the “pioneers of the American West” and the “great symbols of American freedom,” Bergh outlines three ways he’s hoping to restrict the constitutional rights of his fellow Americans.

First, he plans to establish the Safer Tomorrow Fund, which will dole out $1 million in “philanthropic grants” to “nonprofits and youth activists who are working to end gun violence in America.”

Next, Bergh and his company will join Everytown for Gun Safety’s new Business Leaders for Gun Safety coalition. Roughly paraphrasing Everytown’s website, this group is working to join banks and other businesses doing their darndest to bankrupt gun companies and marginalize gun owners.

Finally, Bergh hopes to incentivize his employees to join him in his righteous crusade. Levi Strauss will double its usual employee donation match to anti-gun organizations and pay employees for sixty working hours per year (5 hours per month) to volunteer for the same organizations.

“We’re encouraging our employees to use their time to make an impact,” he said.

Bergh assures his readers he doesn’t want to repeal the Second Amendment or suggest that gun owners aren’t responsible. He’s a former Army officer, after all, and he took an oath to support and defend the Constitution.

Those constitutional rights don’t apply to everyone, of course. Bergh quotes retired four-star general Michael Hayden, who said in a promotional piece for the Giffords Center that “some people… should never have access to any weapons.”

In a dramatic conclusion, Bergh explains that Levi Strauss has “never been afraid to take an unpopular stand to support a greater good,” highlighting his company’s support for integration before the Civil Rights Act and for same-sex couples all the way back in the 1990s.

“While each one of these stands may have been controversial at the time, history proved the company right in the long run,” he says, courageously. “And I’m convinced that while some will disagree with our stand to end gun violence, history will prove this position right too.”

Levi Strauss may have been at the forefront of the Civil Rights movement, but they’re hardly the first company to take a stand against Guns: The Great American Evil. Following the Parkland massacre, a variety of companies, including Walmart, Bank of America, Shopify, and Dick’s Sporting Goods, announced policies designed to curb the Second Amendment rights of their customers and business partners.

Buy Wrangler, better fit, better quality.

  • chuck April 9, 2021, 8:32 pm

Yet again another CEO running his mouth about guns. Let me provide you with two important comments.

One: Run Levi Strauss & Co and provide a product people like and want to buy and thus return a good value to the shareholders and pay your employees a decent wage…..

Two: No! Gun Violence Is Not Ripping This Country Apart. You and politicians are.
The NUMBER ONE thing destroying the countries families and young and upcoming people is DRUGS!

Drug kill and destroy 1,000 X’s the number of lives and even more so die every from overdose and addiction.

But I am sure this lunatic is also a supporter of Abortion.

  • Mike aka “boredgimp” March 18, 2021, 12:25 am

Why does this guy just keep doing what he’s good at which is making subpar jeans most likely found in thrift stores in the ‘Free Section’. I mean really paid hatred?
In a world of getting canceled for literally asking a girl out or making a comment that may be out of character this takes it to another level. I mean I get it he is trying to virtue signal that he is against Guns…. i mean after all last time I checked a gun has never shot anyone, It’s always been the person behind it. So before Levi Strauss decides that it’s a good idea to go anti-gun how about he goes pro mental health and give money to his employees to volunteer their time working with the mentally impaired. Just some food for thought since his jeans suck he should have plenty of time on his hands to do something that might actually make a difference.

  • Bill October 30, 2020, 11:59 am

I knew of Levi’s anti-Second Amendment stance several years ago, and quit purchasing their branded merchandise then. I try to support pro-Second Amendment companies when I can, and avoid anti-Second Amendment companies when I am aware of their policies. I quit purchasing from Dick’s when they made know their views, quit buying Smith and Wesson for several reasons, including their political stance, avoid Wal-Mart whenever possible now. I also quit dealing with companies in liberal states when offered and alternative. I also avoid visiting, and doing business in states that are governed by leftists. Money is the only leverage that they pay attention to. I would encourage any freedom loving American to follow suit.

  • Phil in TX October 30, 2020, 9:03 am

I too quit Levis over their political stances many years ago. The only things I have left with their name on them is one polo shirt and a denim jacket which I rarely wear. As long as they continue to advance leftist policies, they will get no more of my money. All of this is in addition to their tactic of coming into a community and getting huge tax breaks to set up a plant, then leaving town when the tax breaks either expire or the town refuses to extend them.

    • Gunnery Sgt. October 30, 2020, 4:29 pm

I agree as we made a scarecrow out of Levis and burned it as a sign of our solidarity for the second amendment. We also made a pact to never purchase Levi products, patronize Dicks (their name is appropriate) and Walmart. The slap in our face is us sportsmen made Dicks what they are today and then we get betrayed. Screw you Dicks (seems so fitting). We will have a party when you file bankruptcy and fund it with the money we saved by not patronizing your stores.

  • jack Summerell October 30, 2020, 6:48 am

Haven’t owned their jeans since they came out of the closet literally!

  • Drew Read October 30, 2020, 6:33 am

I believe in free thoughts and free speech. I also believe in the 2nd amendment.
My money will be spent on goods and services with like minded companies. Levi Strauss is no longer on that list.
I hope your bottom line reflects your poor decision.
    Good luck on your stance.

Say bye bye to my business.

  • Kelsey Baker February 19, 2020, 9:39 am

For the large majority of their jeans, Levi’s are not made in the USA. More than 99% of their jeans are made in countries like China, Japan, Italy, and others.
Then ship apparel back here to sell to bleed us and tell Us we shouldn’t have Our Constitutional Freedoms. Time to shut this company down and spread the word. No More Levi for Me.

    • Jeff Edwards February 26, 2021, 9:24 pm

I will never own another Levi product, and no one in my family. We are a free people, because of guns, and never forget that. We have never had a war on american soil since the civil war, because the American people are HEAVILY ARMED.

  • Justin kloepfer February 18, 2020, 7:44 pm

I use to have a bunch of Levi jeans and guess what I threw them all out. Wranglers fit better and last way longer anyways. Good luck keeping your sales afloat.

  • Ram Muchewicz February 18, 2020, 6:56 pm

When Levi Strauss began marketing itself as in alignment with the “revolution” in TV adverts.
I stopped purchasing their products. I readily found replacements with Carhartt, Dickies,
Wolverine, Riggs, and Duluth. Which I only mention here to give the virtue signaling rat turd
    a bit of a kick.

  • Art m February 18, 2020, 3:59 pm

This is why I will never buy another pair of jeans from this company.

  • Wallace Hatfield February 18, 2020, 2:39 pm

I haven’t bought a pair of Levi’s in over 20 yrs and will never again

  • Sharon Speth January 18, 2020, 6:58 pm

This will rightfully hurt Levi. We wear Lee anyway.

  • Vallory joy January 17, 2020, 3:44 pm

I will never wear or purchase anything connected with Levi Strauss again.no one is ever taking my protection away EVER

  • Melanie December 26, 2019, 8:09 pm

Your sales will go down, I bet everyone that wears Levi’s are legal gun owners! I will carry my gun any where I please. But, I’m not buying your brand anymore for the men in my family. Goodbye, Levi

  • Ralph December 19, 2019, 8:30 am

  • Ron Becker October 20, 2019, 7:32 am

Saying that liberalism is a form of mental illness used to be a joke. It is no longer a joke, it’s an epidemic.

  • rich July 3, 2019, 2:36 pm

I just called Levi Support and while the young lady was very nice….I politely informed her if the information is true and Levis has gone against the 2nd Amendment….. I will never ever buy another pair of Levis. I need some new 560’s, but I will buy from CINCH or Wrangle now. I boycotted Smith & Wesson years ago when they sold out to Clinton….and now I am boycotting Levis. I hope your sales tank

    • Joe July 19, 2019, 5:09 pm

Will never buy anything from Levi’s again

  • Rodney Tietjen June 5, 2019, 8:14 am

You people are fools , why do you try to put your petty feelings before the whole world to see. Cant you see that the people that are killing us is the foriegn people that you have let come into our country. These people are not use to being free and will do anything to destroy our way of life. For example , the Mexicans and the middle east people are only here to cause havoc in our nation. Why do you think we have the right to walk down the streets or go to a ball game or even let your kids outside to play. These foreigners have made this country into this shooting match. Almost every time you here of a shooting it is somehow connected to the middle east. All of these countries are killing our society. Get with the program \” America is for the free and the brave\” not for these pussy whipped left wingers. If you want the guns to go away move , we don\’t need you here. If you remember just a few years ago ,before the corporation\’s started bringing in the foreigners this country was a peaceful, God fearing country. Where you could be outside your house without the fear of being shot. Or your children taken by these people and sold into whatever. You people like Walmart, Levi Strauss and the other big corporations don\’t want you to have a say in anything, that\’s why they go along with this shit. WHEN YOU TRY TO TAKE OUR GUNS WE WILL FIGHT BACK, THEN SEE HOW MANY OF YOU NON GUN BEARERS TAKE UP ARMS TO DEFEND YOURSELF. I HOPE YOU ARE IN A RALLY OR SOMETHING WHEN IF IT HAPPENS. THERE WONT BE MANY OF YOU LEFT TO be counted. Stupid fucks. Hope your the first to go.

    • Jeff K June 30, 2019, 10:44 am

Well said Mr. David B, well said! You are a true American and your love for our great country is immense. I stand right beside you and support your opinions 100 percent. More Americans need to read your words in these paragraphs and I intend to pass it along to all I can. God bless the USA!

Never another dollar spent on Levi merchandise in this household. Praying for people of the United States to stand up against liberal businesses that think they can take away others rights.

  • Natalie May 20, 2019, 2:01 pm

  • Jamie May 18, 2019, 3:46 pm

I will NEVER wear Levi’s again! How dare you think you can take my rights away! You’re the type of idiot who has armed security but think the rest should go unarmed and unprotected!

  • Greg Takemoto May 17, 2019, 6:11 pm

Chip Berg who do you think are to strip me of my civil rights, while hiding in your gated community and armed guards. Having worn only Levi 501 most every day for the past 50 years. I nor my children will NEVER again buy any Levi. May those you love most experience what you want to impose on others and be unprotected unarmed defenseless when they encounter an armed psychopath.

  • Carla Brown May 17, 2019, 12:29 pm

While I love levi’ jeans and have always worn them, I will not from now on! You sir are an so misinformed about guns and have no clue about the real world. Guns are not the problem; mental health is! No one will take my guns! And further…..shame on you for using a long standing product of the US as a political tool!

  • Angie becknell May 17, 2019, 10:09 am

We can NOT let these people use these school shootings to strip away our gun rights. It is our RIGHT as an American citizen. It is NOT the gun…it is the people that’s doing the shooting. As bad as things are getting in this world we have to have the right to defend ourselves, our home & our property. PERIOD!!

  • Joe May 16, 2019, 8:01 pm

I think you should stay in selling clothes not politics. Chicago has a gun control and look what’s going on there. City that has the highest murder rate in America

  • Doug May 16, 2019, 6:27 pm

Screw you someone start a petition to remove all Levi merchandise from all selves

  • Maria May 16, 2019, 12:39 pm

When will people realize: Gun control does not control gun violence. Have they not seen the stats in Chicago? Studies show it’s more about the lack of Fatherhood influence. Levi Strauss should put their money into campaigning for men who make babies to be better fathers!!! Poor Levi Strauss employees and investors, say goodbye to the American Jean and your American earnings.

    • Gunnery Sgt. October 30, 2020, 4:52 pm

Ignorance manifests itself to fit one’s agenda but it’s the ignorant that believe it.

  • Robert May 16, 2019, 10:46 am

I will not be buying anything from them just like I don’t go into dicks sporting goods now both have lost a good customer since they want to try and mess with my rights. I’ve owned guns my whole life (55)and I’ve never hurt anyone.so go ahead and jump into the I hate guns group and lose money

  • Sugaree May 15, 2019, 9:12 pm

I have been wearing Levi’s since I was about 8yrs old. Not going to support this decision and will NEVER purchase anything made by them. Be a company and stay out if politics

  • Katherine Royer May 15, 2019, 3:39 pm

No longer will I even contemplate purchasing Levi products.

  • charles e goetschius May 15, 2019, 1:35 pm

i will NOT buy another levi product –and i will look into all other companies that are connected with bergh or uder levi’s wing and WILL NOT purchase from them–i will not further his agenda–paying employees to work against stuff is not right

  • Jeff Packer May 15, 2019, 9:46 am

NEVER AGAIN!! Not another Levi product. Not ever! I have worn them all of my life but to the burn barrel they go! No retreat no surrender. I took an oath to protect and defend the constitution of the United States of America against all enemies foreign and domestic so help me God!

  • Mark Gautreaux May 15, 2019, 7:13 am

    Gun violence does not exist.
    Guns do 3 things.
    They function.
    They fail.
    They rust.
    Violence is from the heart.

  • mark Koernke May 15, 2019, 2:54 am

I WILL NEVER BUY A LEVI PRODUCT AGAIN EVER. NO MATTER WHAT THEY SAY AFTER THIS. NEVER TO FORGIVE, NEVER TO FORGET. JUST LIKE KMART. NEVER AGAIN AFTER THEY WENT ANTI GUN. PISS ON THEM ALL!

    • Wyman December 23, 2019, 7:14 pm

I also will never buy not weay any Levis branded anything. I fought too long and hard i. The U.S. Military to just let someone who has money and liberal at that who thinks they can screw with my 2nd amendment rights. I will burn every stich of clothing I have that bears the Levi name and never look back. Hope your company can survive what you have just did to yourself. Frankly I don’t care if if it does ot not. You have been canceled in my book and I know the majority of veterans will feel the same. Have a good day, not.

  • Rodney Brewer May 12, 2019, 8:55 pm

Cant we just place the blame where it belongs? People who choose guns to attack people are the persons to blame. Once again, the law abiding gun owners are the people being made responsible for the few idiots that commit these crimes. If these students made nerve agents or poisons in chemistry class, used them on their classmates or faculty, would the manufacturers of the chemicals used by the student be blamed?

    • Truette Cliver May 16, 2019, 9:32 am

In the perverted world we live in unfortunately…yes.
      Liberalism is mental illness.

  • Norma wix May 9, 2019, 9:20 pm

I do believe your cells and Levi products jeans and the lake I’m going to take a nosedive you as a CEO of Levi Strauss and Company need to keep your nose in the business of clothing and accessories for Levi Strauss & Company and stay out of politics that’s the biggest problem nowadays that entertainers such as actors and actresses comedians late night show hosts and the like need to keep their noses and their particular businesses that they’re in and keep their noses out of politics that’s why we have congressmen and congresswomen senators Governor’s Mayers and presidents that’s where politics need to be it can be in your own home among your friends but as far as publicly degrading certain people in the government that needs to stop for one for 2 they work for us we the people and they’re not the Democrats definitely are not there out for power and self-gratification and whatever they want they want to get and to have and there’s some Republicans that are like that to their right there with the Democrats. They all work for us and all Republicans need to stick with and be loyal too and work for their Republican voters the Democratic Party Works for their democratic voters or pretend to but as we can see in the news and what not that they’re not they fought against a lot of what their Democratic voters wanted once they got Inta Congress and the House of Representatives now we’re finding out that they blocked or try to block a lot of things for certain groups of people. I am absolutely ashamed to be owning a pair of Levi jeans now. Being Levi Strauss company all those years from way back in the western days I’m just speechless I I can’t even really comprehend why you CEO of this company that has been around for a very very long time would even suggest or even try to pay your employees to go along with you on this it’s a tad bit ridiculous and I’m pretty sure the ones who decide not to will probably end up losing their job for one reason or another that you’ll come up with. Are hard and money will not be buying anything from Levi Strauss & Company ever again. And I surely hope a lot of red-blooded Americans true Americans in this country who believe in our Second Amendment and standby our Second Amendment and our constitutional rights will also boycott and not purchase anymore of Levi Strauss & company’s products enough is enough.

  • David B May 9, 2019, 10:44 am

Why can’t today’s CEO’s just try and run their company fairly and profitably for the stockholders, customers and employees and stay out of politics, religion and volatile social matters. First of all it is an extreme abuse of power and a vulgar display of arrogance as you automatically assume that your employees, customers and investors have the same beliefs that you do which is always wrong!

So he joins the long list of highly compensated CEO’s who have made so much money, they no longer need to worry about that security for themselves, so they can risk other people’s futures to arrogantly state their own personal philosophies through further abusing their power. They often completely forget the history that made the company who they are today and insure they will never be the same company again. All through arrogance. I have seen this first hand a few times during my career and it is sickening to watch.

And aren’t most Levi’s made outside the USA today anyway? So how many hourly workers do you actually have in the US? Aren’t most US employees exempt and on salary? Why don’t you move some of that production back to the USA and help support tomorrow’s leaders by increasing manufacturing jobs and training leaders in this country? Remember – that’s how you grew to the company you are today! Why did you leave the US? Perhaps more relaxed environmental and labor laws in other countries? Several of the gun companies at least still manufacture here in the US!

And most of all – blaming a shooting on a gun is like blaming a misspelled word on a pencil! So what about reckless homicide with a vehicle? Should the car manufacturer be liable? What about someone drinking and driving – should the beverage maker be liable? What if someone hits someone in the head with a ball-bat and kills them – should Louisville Slugger be liable? How stupid and moronic – why not attempt to get at the root of the problem, not the symptom! How about better recognition of and treatment of mental illness! How about making people fully accountable themselves for their actions and decisions vs. always trying to blame someone else? How about looking at what has changed in this country to drive people to these choices?

We take God out of not only schools, but also everyday life more and more. We teach our children that any behavior is acceptable or at least “not their fault”. We talk about how our Grandparents and Great Grandparents were truly the “Greatest Generation” but then work to change almost everything that made them so great! We restrict parent’s ability to discipline their children but then blame them when those same children cause any harm to others or are confused about what is right and wrong. We market video games that teach hatred of police and that killing people at random is ok! We drag up issues from 30-40 years ago and ruin lives by applying today’s standards all without any real proof – just circumstantial evidence or hearsay causing irreparable harm but no concern about libel or slander as it is widely accepted to criticize certain issues – mostly liberal favorites.

We now have made it ok to attack the office of President of the United States and not show the respect it deserves. Remember when the Dixie Chicks said George Bush wasn’t their President? People burned their albums and they immediately fell out of favor. What has happened in so short a time to make it permissible today to attack the office and not show the respect it deserves? Just one man?? That was elected by the people in spite of media attacks. I agree that I don’t like a lot of his personality traits, personal behaviors and historical choices but he was elected and I will respect that and I will definitely respect the office and title! Too many people have died to defend the US to allow overly compensated, super arrogant tyrants to harm her. Chip loves the fruit from the tree but wants no part of respecting the work that grew it!

America was founded to get away from tyrannical leadership that made people’s choices for them yet Chip wants to go after some of those basic principles and display behaviors that our forefathers fought to get away from. Leave the basic rights guaranteed in the Constitution alone and leave it to non-profit groups to challenge/support/change. Support your employee’s, customer’s and shareholder’s individual rights and don’t try and use power and authority entrusted to you in a way that wasn’t intended – just because “you” believe it is ok. Support our children – don’t further confuse them. And teach them they are accountable for their words and actions!

But for now – neither I nor my family will support anything associated with Levi’s ever again until these wrongs are righted! Board members – it is time for you to speak up and not let Chip ruin another iconic brand! Look at Dick’s Sporting Goods if you need a great example. I will never, ever support them again!

    • Justin May 16, 2019, 10:24 am

      You nailed it.

    • Leigh May 16, 2019, 12:37 pm

How is this keeping guns from the “bad guys”?

    • Joshua Pace May 19, 2019, 6:05 am

That’s the most intelligible thing I’ve read or even heard in the media, whether it be social or otherwise, in a long damn time. Well put Sir. I would like to share your comment with a couple friends, with your permission of course.

  • B May 7, 2019, 4:56 am

Really?! Can’t businesses just stay out of politics??? Now I need to find a new favorite jean. “Thanks”, Levi’s. 😒👎🏻

  • R.L. May 6, 2019, 12:45 pm

I’ve worn Levi’s jeans for 45 years but I’m done. They may always be around but will never see another cent from me.

  • Ecominer May 4, 2019, 10:18 am

Instead of alienating the customer maybe his emphasis should be applied to mental illness rather than bankrupting firearm companies. I’ve never seen a gun shoot someone, a car kill someone or a needle overdose someone without someone involved.

  • Swampfox1965 May 3, 2019, 1:50 pm

I’m burning my Levi’s jeans. Won’t even donate ’em like I do most of my old clothes. Levi’s just alienated over half of the country — which will probably cut their bottom line by more than that. They won’t be able to use MY money to fight against America.

    • Luke Robinson May 8, 2019, 5:07 pm

Don’t burn them, they already have your money, so you’re just harming yourself. If you don’t want to wear them, save them away; maybe you could put them in a box labeled “Boogaloo,” or “Incase of Zombie Apocalypse.” Lol. (If you have any Benchmade knives, you could throw them in the box too.)

  • Rich April 29, 2019, 4:05 pm

I wonder how much difference Levi’s would make if they gave their employees the exact same incentive and donated the same money to volunteer at homeless shelters or shelters for abused woman or veterans or orphans. Maybe even just donate the “rejected clothes” to people who lost everything from storms or fire or flooding. So many other ways to make a difference that would truly be noticeable by many .
Guess I have bought my last pair of Levi’s

  • Tony April 29, 2019, 8:18 am

This guy absolutely disgusts me, being someone who wears Levi Strauss jeans, I am just sick to see this. I hope you and your company crumble. So please stick to making jeans and stay out of politics!

  • Doc Bretz April 19, 2019, 2:25 am

    Wranglers……that is all.

  • Kenny March 26, 2019, 7:24 am

  • James Smejkal March 23, 2019, 4:04 am

Quit wearing Levi’s years ago and with this anti-Gun attitude will never wear any of their products again.

    • Sharlene Unternahrer May 6, 2019, 2:21 pm

      What are you afraid off??

  • Jeff March 21, 2019, 1:02 pm

Wranglers rule…will never buy Levi’s again.

Ass holes like you will never lift a gun in defence of our country from a foreign invader if it ever came to that. You most likely applauded when the Muslims attacked us on 9-1-1. Move to the middle East and you’ll see how violent others can top us in that arena.

    • julie May 8, 2019, 10:55 am

He was actually in the Army….

  • John March 18, 2019, 7:43 am

I applaud Levi Strauss and all companies who are willing sacrifice earnings to support the greater good of society. Our country is uniquely violent among civilized nations because of our unique and ubiquitous access to firearms of every kind. For every gun owner that chooses to boycott businesses who support reducing the rediculius over-supply of guns in our nation, there are more than enough responsible gun control advocates to more than offset angry gun owners (except for, naurally, businesses whose business models are based on putting guns into everyone’s hands). Levi, I salute you, and thank you for taking a position that will hopefully one day protect us from the scurge of guns everywhere.

    • Sheena April 29, 2019, 12:58 pm

Guns in the hands of “everyone”?
Are you insane or just intentionally stupid?
Legal gun owners are some of the safest and most law abiding….point your pious outrage at CRIMINALS!!!
Every time a new law comes up, it is pointed at ME! WTF did I do to deserve being criminalized for my belief in our constitution, my rights and the need to defend them?

    • Sgt. James Hamilton May 19, 2019, 4:51 pm

John, you are not completely aware of how laws don’t work in this Great Country of ours🤔 Drugs are illegal but we still have serious drug problems; Drinking/Driving is illegal but yet we still have problems w/ it! So how exactly is this going 2 be any different than all the other problems/issues we face on a daily 🤭. 🇺🇸+🙏& 🔫’s=💪💪💪💪💪💪

  • mike p March 16, 2019, 10:32 pm

more ignorance, stupidity. and a 70 year old lifetime buyer of Levi clothing lost ! Good luck in your next job you dumb ass.

  • GD March 15, 2019, 9:14 pm

Strange how Levi made those bones when the 45 long colt ruled the land. Those cowboys built that co with those support.
No one has the right to work against the constitution of America to strip rights away from law abiding citizens when they are a birth rite of each American. Not your decision.
Done with Levi. How soon will the store closings begin.

  • Gary March 14, 2019, 11:01 am

I threw out the last pair of Levi’s I had the other day. Business should remain natural on issues like this or lose all the customers they go against. My family will not be purchasing Levi products period.

  • Lynne March 13, 2019, 11:59 pm

Won’t ever buy another pair of Levi’s. Always loved them, but the company doesn’t represent my values anymore!

  • Gene March 13, 2019, 6:44 pm

I guess with all the prior comments I’m not alone in my attitude…same goes for me. When a clothing, model, or actor decide that they need to get into the politics of an issue that does not coincide with their beliefs and ideas its time to shut up or put up. Seeing as you decided to run your ideas and bribe, yes bribe your own employees to enter into the fray I’m done with your products and symitry to these other actors and the rest of your ilk. I have other places to shop and I can pick out my own jeans and products without your help.
You have made it easier as to what my family wears and doesn’t along with their friends and family.
Seeing as you decided to get into this fray maybe you can come up with an idea as to why you need to make honest people into criminals and fix the system with the wackos (especially when it appears that most of the time people suspect them of being a bit unhinged and have made comments prior to their insane ideas) who do these things instead of going about it in your own fashion. If you wish to make your own opinions heard do it on your own time not the companies time and dime.
Taking your business and employees with you…hope you enjoyed your career with Levi’s and their subsidiaries. What a waste…Stay with what you know not in what you think you know..this isn’t it.

  • Jan Shelton March 13, 2019, 2:21 pm

Good for you sir. Please excuse the sexist remarks, there are so many stupid people. And imagine them with guns!

    • Gunnery Sgt. October 30, 2020, 4:38 pm

  • Tabitha Abbott March 13, 2019, 11:57 am

Levi’s was one of the first working class Jean’s in the country debuting their first Jean in the “wild west” in 1870. The founders are probably rolling in their graves right now. Shame on you! That money should be spent on bettering the mental health systems here in the USA, not gun control and limiting our 2nd Amendment rights! A gun is a physical object and therefore can’t kill a person. If a gun is put in a person’s hands that is the only time a gun can kill. Advocating for a better mental health system is what all you snowflakes should be doing. You all should know better! Never will I buy another pair of Levi’s when there are now so many better options.

  • Adam d March 13, 2019, 9:21 am

My father works for Levi’s and I was raised with them as were my children but never again will I ever pick up one of there products. This mans stupidity will not be the end of my family’s protection! Back when there factories went over seas is the time they started going downhill fast when Walmart began selling Levi’s so called signature series, now they try to run out all the older employees there there whole life that can actually make enough money to support their families by any means possible with out any severance pay and bring in people off the street just over fast food pay! Shame on you and I don’t wish you any luck! A former loyal customer

  • Frances March 13, 2019, 12:34 am

I will never buy another pair of pants from this company agian.

  • Usunder53 March 12, 2019, 8:09 pm

Watch him wish he had his 48 special when he’s looking down the gun barrel from the open end of the barrel.

  • Craig Bachman March 12, 2019, 7:23 pm

Levi’s never fit right – now I know why!!!! Wranglers my whole life.

  • Gary March 12, 2019, 3:06 pm

Bringing awareness to gun violence is a good thing. Taking a stand against the 2nd amendment is UNAmerican, maybe that is why he has move factories to other countries. Find someway to take guns away from criminals. Do not continue to impose restrictions on law abiding citizens. Nike, Dicks Sports and now Levis are not places or products that I support.

  • Eric March 12, 2019, 2:31 pm

Well just like I did with yeti products. I’m removing all Levi products from my business and will never purchase from them again.

  • Candy March 12, 2019, 7:41 am

    Boycott Levis

  • John March 11, 2019, 10:49 pm

What do fire arms have to do with gun violence? That’s like saying hammers are responsible for deforestation. I wonder if this guy is also asking them to volunteer in mental health clinics. Since gun violence stems from mental disease and disorders that’s where he should be sending them. Obviously the guy is a political animal and has not educated himself very thoroughly on this issue.

As soon as we regain social sanity and stop cuddling nut jobs Guns will become a non-issue.

  • bob March 11, 2019, 8:45 pm

I’m ahead of all of you. In my lifetime I have bought only one pair of Levi’s and the only reason I bought that pair was because I knew they were knockoffs before I bought them. I do not believe in buying over priced products unless I have no alternatives. Another thing, some of commented on other’s use of your rather than you’re. The reason people use the wrong words including wrong usage of their, they’re and there is because our public schools are not allowed to teach what our children need to know. Teachers are forced to teach such things as “America is evil” “America has done only evil and should not be respected but rather destroyed.” Schools teach that good is evil and evil is good. Our (?) government is trying to dumb Americans down so they can be controlled. Take away our guns so we cannot protect ourselves from the government. Do you know how many times a government has taken away guns from the citizens then after a few short years started rounding up those citizens and murdering all of them? Way back when I went to school my teachers would tell us things, then tell us “do not take my word for it, go out and look it up for yourselves so you will know if what I told you is true or not.” Now students are told to “believe what I tell you or leave the class.” And students are ostracized for thinking for themselves if they should be stupid enough to disagree with the lies they are being told. The students are being convinced that there is only one way to believe, there are no other opinions. It is time for Good American Citizens to wake up before it is too late.

    • Candy March 12, 2019, 7:42 am

Bob you hit the nail on the head.TY

  • Ken March 11, 2019, 6:00 pm

Gun violence is not an epidemic in the USA.

  • doug kugler March 11, 2019, 2:02 pm

    Bye Bye loser (snow flake)

  • Charlie March 11, 2019, 12:09 pm

Is this the same idiot that moved all of his manufacturing facilities to China? He is already anti-American. Now he’s trying to tell Americans their Constitutional rights are incorrect. I am 81 yrs. old and have worn Levies since I was old enough to walk. NO MORE!

    • Irene March 11, 2019, 4:16 pm

I worked for Levi Strauss back yeas ago when they closed I said I would never buy any thing they put on the market.

  • Billy Tripp March 11, 2019, 9:28 am

Used to wear/buy Levi jeans. After this I will never purchase another pair. I personally hope the company sales flops likes Dicks! Major let down.

  • Jimmy March 11, 2019, 9:20 am

I will sending about 20 25 pair of jeans back for a refund.this company has been through the western and cowboy day .long before you sir.i will not buy them anymore.

  • Pat Wayne March 11, 2019, 9:13 am

I don’t understand why people like this would jeopardize their own company. If a person wants to get politically active, weigh out the pros and cons before you put your foot in your mouth. Levi doesn’t just manufacture jeans but a whole host of clothing and various other accessories. Been a Levi customer for years. Gonna find out if its true, “Cowgirls go nuts over Cowboy’s Wrangler butts”. Bye bye Levi.

    • Luddy May 5, 2019, 2:42 pm

You are right on. Bad guys don’t care about our laws. Never have, never will. This is just feel good politics. The facts are that gun violence is way down in our country. Most gun violence is committed by bad guys on bad guys. It’s gang related. The Chicago rpidemic is black on black gang members . Trump offered the national guard to help, and their lovely mayor turned him down. This is a guy trying to influence young stupid buyers. He is a non issue in most stores for young people. This guy is an idiot, but, not stupid.

  • Miss Priss March 11, 2019, 7:21 am

Stick to your business and stay out of political agendas.

  • Gerrie March 11, 2019, 4:02 am

I loved levis, raised my son wearing levis! Such a huge disappointment!!!! I will no longer buy from your company!!! Don’t mess with my right to bear arms!! So long levis.

  • Dina March 11, 2019, 12:58 am

Levi, I am very disappointed that you would take this stand, and to try to make it sound as tho you are not jeopardizing my right to own a gun. There is always a risk where there are freedoms. I will gladly take my risks while enjoying my freedoms. I gareentee you there’s will always be guns to protect the VIPs of this country. And so long as they deserve protection. So should the rest. I will certainly never support your company any longer. So sad that you couldn’t have been as concerned about the rate of overdose in this country which is double that of gun violence.

  • Lawrence March 11, 2019, 12:33 am

This idiot sold out America when the company began manufacturing their product out of the country, and began using cheaper materials and processes. No loss to me. I began buying their competitor’s products a very long time ago.

  • Clarence cole March 10, 2019, 10:41 pm

    Will never buy another pair

  • Carol N March 10, 2019, 10:24 pm

“Next, Bergh and his company will join Everytown for Gun Safety’s new Business Leaders for Gun Safety coalition. Roughly paraphrasing Everytown’s website, this group is working to join banks and other businesses doing their darndest to bankrupt gun companies and marginalize gun owners.”
I like to educate myself as much as possible before making decisions. I checked the link you cited in your article. I could not find any comment regarding ‘bankrupting gun companies’. Is there another link that would support this statement?

  • Carl Black March 10, 2019, 9:15 pm

The pair I have on are my last!

  • Johnny lynn March 10, 2019, 8:42 pm

Happy trails Levi liberal taking out the trash “YOUR JEANS” Good day #MAGA

  • Bo March 10, 2019, 8:40 pm

Swore off Nikes and Dicks Sporting Goods, now this lifetime Levis customer who has bought countless pairs of Levis jeans over the years is done with them also. You should stick to making jeans and keep your nose out of politics and the second amendment!

  • Floyd Darnell March 10, 2019, 6:40 pm

I wonder if this CEO really believes that with total ban on owning a gun will totally remove or eliminate gun crimes? I bet if he were confronted by a criminal with a gun, and they do get guns illegally, that he would quickly wish he had a gun to protect himself or his family. Total gun ban will never work!!! Criminals will Always get a gun no matter the law or ‘ban’ on guns. There is an answer but just not a gun ban of this country’s citizens!!!! I am a Veteran and I will always protect my family, my property and my neighbors!!!!!

    • Luddy May 5, 2019, 2:41 pm

There are lots better denims for way less money..

  • Charlene March 10, 2019, 5:15 pm

I will no longer be purchasing anything by Levi. You stock is about to fall!

  • JR March 10, 2019, 4:02 pm

Guess it’s time to start wearing Wranglers.

  • Sharon L Lockhart March 10, 2019, 3:47 pm

Well, sounds like this person, doesn’t want anyone else’s business, so, he is insuring himself and the shareholders that there will be less Levi’s worn than ever.
Even tho they were never my choice of clothes, but… I have been known to buy them once or twice in my lifetime but NEVER again.
If you as a company don’t want to support your country and the Constitution, that’s OK with me, I won’t be supporting you or your shareholders either.
Go broke, that is what will happen soon enough.

  • Pattie weber March 10, 2019, 3:42 pm

Bob oh bob did you just shit in your nest. I will never buy Levi’s again.
Don’t mess with my guns. If you don’t want them I don’t try to put them in your hands or home so give me the same courtesy.

  • Scott March 10, 2019, 3:40 pm

As an Army Officer he himself should realize it is not the gun that kills, it is the individual that pulls or squeezes the trigger! Lets refresh the fact that it too is the young who wish to stop the gun violence but yet they themselves continue to text and drive and believe that’s ok to do. Again how many die from distracted drivers rather form the gun? When all the good legal abiding citizens have no guns to defend themselves with who is gong to protect them? Oh I know it will be the criminals ask them because they will still have their guns!

  • Jim March 10, 2019, 3:05 pm

Well, I have been a long time purchaser and to be honest the only jeans I will wear(35 years). I will no longer purchase. I will get rid of the ones I have, or just use them as rags. I will look for another pair of jeans where the company stays out of politics or supports our AMERICAN values and rights! Levi will soon feel what so many others who have stuck their nose where it don’t belong. I see financial problems in their near future!!

  • Elwood March 10, 2019, 2:33 pm

I’m a fan of wranglers anyways. Only wore Levi’s because I got them free.

  • DAVID M March 10, 2019, 2:17 pm

Some folks refuse to use history as a learning tool. It was about 100 years ago that alcohol was vilified as the nations worst evil. Let’s pass laws, eliminate it and that will cure the ills of our society. We all know how that experiment turned out.

    • Art March 15, 2019, 8:56 am

The alcohol problem now day’s is bigger than the gun problem. The CDC shows that death by alcohol use is much larger than fire arms deaths. The 35,000 plus firearm deaths boils down to most are suicide, and accidental deaths. The number for homicide is about 1/6 of the total of fire arms deaths. The problem is the courts and there lax punishments for DUI’s and also for not punishing individuals for the use of unregistered handgun’s, More times than enough the court records show plea bargaining eliminates punishment for that crime and puts the criminal back on the street.

  • James W. Hopkins March 10, 2019, 12:50 pm

No more Levis. I’ll vote you off with my wallet.

  • Mike Hutchins March 10, 2019, 11:45 am

There is absolutely nothing brave about this. This is yet another slimy liberal attempt to underminrle the United States Constitution and attack our citizens rights. The founders of Levi would fire this weasel in no time flat and such liberally biased articles and reporting are equally as unexcusable.

  • Suzanne March 10, 2019, 11:15 am

Used to be my favorite brand now I will have to find another!

  • James March 10, 2019, 11:12 am

I can’t take anyone serious who for gun control. How do they plan on controlling guns, by using guns.

  • Bort March 10, 2019, 10:06 am

Well looks like i wont be buying another pair of those cheap ass shitty jeans
    Fucking petty tyrants

  • Anthony March 10, 2019, 3:55 am

How about Chip Bergh and his employees fight for our mental health institutions and help people that need help get it. Let’s stop attacking the wrong issue. Gun control is not going to stop mass shootings. I have a friend that has been trying to get help for a family member that needs help and it is a 9 month wait and near impossible to find an institution that can help. Let’s focus on the real problem.

  • al stone March 9, 2019, 10:43 pm

Levi’s you have been covering me for 55 years, you will be covering me no more.

  • Brad Taylor March 9, 2019, 10:13 pm

I have been a big Levi wearing fool for 40 years. 501’s were my favorite jeans.. Bought and worn several jean jackets and 100’s Levi t-shirts in my life. But upon hearing of this ridiculous news I will no longer purchase another Levi product. Back when Levi Strauss founded the company in 1847 the men wearing these jeans had pistols on their hips and rifles over their shoulders. And it wasn’t to wildly and senselessly kill people. They had guns to protect themselves and their property and gold claims!! Shame on this liberal quack CEO!!! No more Levi’s for me ever!!

  • Leslie March 9, 2019, 9:53 pm

Well I guess Levi’s will be burned just like my Nike’s were! Buh-bye Levi!

  • Jeanne Polden March 9, 2019, 8:23 pm

    Will never by Levi’s again.

  • Clifford March 9, 2019, 8:22 pm

    Buy somewhere else!

  • Clifford March 9, 2019, 8:22 pm

    Buy somewhere else!

  • Scott March 9, 2019, 6:14 pm

Can’t understand where messing with constitutional rights would be a good business decision, in the US. Shot you’re self in the foot!

  • Cindy Tatters March 9, 2019, 2:52 pm

After years of Levi ‘s being around ,here is their down fall. When will you companies realize ,the bigger you are the harder you fall.

  • John Pryor March 9, 2019, 2:47 pm

Real cowboys wear Wranglers. I wouldn’t let my dog sleep on a pair of Levi’s. And if I did happen to own a pair of Levi’s, the fact that CEO Bergh and his company support same-sex marriage would be more than enough to keep me from ever buying another pair! So, pound sand, Levi’s Corp! I’ll continue to proudly wear my pistol in my holster around the waist of my Wranglers!!

  • Mike March 9, 2019, 2:04 pm

F*** Levis. Dumb move anyway. You are selling jeans you bunch of whining f*** tards. Nobody cares about your politics. You should have kept your mouth closed. We WILL have guns in the United States. There is a reason that we’re the only nation on earth that has never been invaded.

  • Keary March 9, 2019, 1:56 pm

I guess I’ll never buy Levi’s again. So sad that grown adults don’t understand freedom or the constitution and the rights and risks and responsibility to be free and protect freedom.

  • John Sturrock March 9, 2019, 12:45 pm

Screw Levi’s. I haven’t bought anything from that company in a long time. Now it will be even longer before I ever buy anything from them ever again.

    • John Ciccone March 9, 2019, 7:34 pm

      Never buy Levi’s again.

    • Margie March 9, 2019, 9:34 pm

Burning my one and only pair of Levi jeans

  • Non of your business commi March 9, 2019, 12:40 pm

Wanglers are better anyways and a little cheaper!!!!!!

  • Robin March 9, 2019, 12:18 pm

No more Levi’s for me, stupid move

  • atilla thehun March 9, 2019, 11:36 am

Duluth. A little more expensive but worth it.

  • G S Harden March 9, 2019, 11:12 am

No more Levi’s in this house EVER!!

  • Doylesgirl March 9, 2019, 8:45 am

We knew this over 20 years ago. Levi Strauss jeans are made over seas in sweat shops using child labor. They made just pennies a day then and pennies a day now. They make a killing at the retail stores. So he can spew his self-righteous garbage all day long about guns. The jerk needs to look in the mirror!

    • Cliff March 9, 2019, 9:00 pm

Slave labor for profit is a sin right from the laws of GOD✝️✡️🇺🇸🌷🍀

  • Mandi March 9, 2019, 8:40 am

Another attempt to divide Americans on his personal beliefs with the Us and Them platform. Why does he need to drag Levi’s into the stupid division we are plumiting towards. Promoting division of America is the new American way, oh wait can I say American way anymore, or is that no longer politically correct.
No guns, they kill people. More abortions, they don’t? You want less guns, more illegals, less Americans, more services for free, less success, more distribution of wealth, less earned but more gained, less effort but more results, less responsibility more income, just shut up and pay taxes so everyone can claim rights to your taxes and resources because they just got here by breaking law because they were poor in their country and look to you to change that, you however are to fund all of this and like it. Screw this, the division of us will leave one side greatly under funded, because the equal gain for everyone will not work if the money earners dont share and the money takers dont have other people’s money to distribute, No other country in the world villianizes their citizens for trying to succeed in their own country by allowing the resources to be given away to others who illegally get here and leave it’s own, kicked to the curb.
Where do we migrate to when we are poor and want a better life? I know I am bound by property rights in my country, I see walls, doors, fences and all kind of boundary barriers that let me know, that’s not mine. No problem. If I cross these things, I’m breaking the law and tresspassing. I know I could get shot, I will go to jail and my kids will not be in jail with me but taken away. Just because I have not does not give me the right to take.
How long do you think people will keep giving away their cash to support these ideologies that takes your money and then calls you evil for having it to begin with.

    • Bill March 9, 2019, 2:37 pm

      Well said Mandy!

  • Joseph March 9, 2019, 4:04 am

    Good bye levi.

  • Virgil March 9, 2019, 1:15 am

I’ll try to remember to look for Wranglers. My problem with this is that, though he may want to support gun owners, but cut down on violence, he will direct monies to these young people and other groups that will take it furthur. No Thanks

  • Cindy March 8, 2019, 11:50 pm

I am going to use my Levi’s as targets now.

  • Kevin Baker March 8, 2019, 9:51 pm

Have worn Levis for many, many years but I will never buy another pair. So sad that bigshots can’t stick to what they do instead of thinking anyone gives a crap about what they think.

    • Bob Serpan March 11, 2019, 10:02 am

I have purchased my last pair of Levi’s!

  • Mary March 8, 2019, 9:23 pm

It’s people who are violent. Great job trying to make everything worse for legal, law abiding gun owners. The bad guys don’t care about your law’s. They don’t register their guns. They will obtain them illegally. You’d think the CEO of a company would be smart enough to realize that??

  • David Couch March 8, 2019, 8:42 pm

Levi Strauss & Company eliminated thousands of jobs by closing all of their factories and getting their garments from countries where wages are very low. To my knowledge there are no more factories in the United States.

Chip probably lives in either a gated community or has a wall around his home.

He fits well into the mind set in California.

    • Paul Andersen March 9, 2019, 7:00 pm

You are so right David therefore he should not worry about U.S. He probably lives in South America where so many wealthy began to flock to while President Obama was in office for fear of paying increased taxes. If Kevin truly cared he would close his foreign factories and bring them home. Just another big mouth in continuing selling out of America.

  • Mark March 8, 2019, 7:03 pm

Sounds like a good time to bring back the old bullet jeans and star jeans from the 80s I like them better anyway screw Levi’s

  • Mike March 8, 2019, 7:01 pm

I have worn Levis for 40+ years looking like it will be wranglers now

  • Bkb March 8, 2019, 6:56 pm

The dickweasal doesn’t have a clue. He needs to have his family threatened and see how he feels.

  • J. Meacham March 8, 2019, 5:49 pm

Im just wondering. How many crimes (murders, school shootings, etc.) have been committed while the person was wearing Levis?? What if they were trying to relive the wild wild west by having a shootout at the ok !!

  • Grrek March 8, 2019, 5:40 pm

Another stupid decision Guns don’t kill people kill,I’ve had my guns for 40+ years and not once have they shot any human being. Taking guns away will not stop any of these sick humans from killing they can get wepons easier then us responsible licensed owners can and you will never confiscate all weapons. Work has to be done with the mental health of people and background checking.

  • Sharon March 8, 2019, 5:36 pm

Ban all Levi Strauss products …..refuse to purchase THEIR products….,PUT THEM OUT IF BUSINESS!

    • Bonnie Lee Lowery March 9, 2019, 1:04 pm

I am a firm believer in protecting myself and family. Was raised with guns and taught to use them safely. Please boycott LEVIS until they come to their come to their senses. They are going against our 2nd Amendment!

    • Bob Serpan March 11, 2019, 10:06 am

      Amen and very well written!

  • Dennis Smith March 8, 2019, 5:06 pm

NO MORE LEVI STRAUSS, see how they like it

  • Brian Horton March 8, 2019, 4:57 pm

For all the ignorant people freaking out it not about taking our guns away this is about ending gun violence. Its about enforcing the laws we have to keep firearms out of criminals hands and raising awareness on gun crimes. If your a law abiding citizen who owns fire arms you should support this as well so we are allowed to keep or privilege to own fire arms because the more crimes and violence caused by them fuels them to take them away. We should all support this movement and march with them and bring our fire arms legally and safely.

    • RUSTY March 9, 2019, 11:24 am

OWNING GUNS IS NOT OUR PRIVILEGE. IT IS OUR CONSTITUTIONAL RIGHT!

    • robert burns March 9, 2019, 12:47 pm

      brian,

you had better rethink what going on, your statement “so we are allowed to keep our privilege” shows you are not on the right path. gun ownership is not a “Privilege” given by the government, its a god given right protected by the second amendment.

      • Sherri March 9, 2019, 7:09 pm

Robert, You need to rethink your comment also…it is NOT a “GOD given” right!

[The amendment was ratified by the States and authenticated by Secretary of State Thomas Jefferson as: A well regulated militia being necessary to the security of a free state, the right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed.]

    • Jonas March 10, 2019, 7:16 am

First of all, it’s our RIGHT as citizens to own a gun, not a privilege. Second, if a person is criminally minded, they’re going to get their hands on one, no matter what. Disarming honest people won’t help one bit. Third, it’s “if YOU’RE a law abiding citizen”, not “your”. Who’s ignorant now?

    • Connie March 10, 2019, 9:55 am

And this is how the gun grab starts. Gum safety my ass. You WILL NEVER GET WEAPONS OUT OF A CRIMINALS HANDS EVER. If they want it, they will get it..

    • Dina March 10, 2019, 5:12 pm

You already have gun control…. look at the pulse nightclub shooting. You had off duty police forced to leave their weapons outside and had they been able to bring them in perhaps there wouldn’t have been as many killed and injured that night. So that’s what gun control did for those folks. I’m from Alaska and we just don’t have a bunch of these kinds of incidents because on average Alaskans own about 2.5 guns per person, we are an open carry state, and if you point a gun at a bunch people your most likely going to have a bunch pointed back at you, thems the rules here.

    • Joey March 10, 2019, 6:26 pm

Yeah they probably have more supporters if they would go after the real problem , by helping with mental health , instead of gun control

  • Tay March 8, 2019, 4:55 pm

No longer will Levi’s clothing be bought or worn in this household.
The only thing in my home with the name Levi on it is going to be my Service Dog, Levi.

  • jr March 8, 2019, 4:08 pm

If it weren’t for George Washington and the patriotic people of his times having guns (to fight the despot King George III) there would probably be no LEVI straus. History is about to repeat itself.

  • js March 8, 2019, 3:41 pm

    goodbye levis

  • Linda March 8, 2019, 3:22 pm

Well Levi’s have always been my favorite jeans. No more. I will not support anyone who steps on my constitutional right. Goodbye Levi. There are plenty other jeans out there.

  • Kevin Blankenship March 8, 2019, 2:19 pm

So sad to proudly announce I will never buy another Levi Strauss product!! If he is against me a Law abiding gun owner who would only defend a human being with m gun or myself with a gun I cannot support such idiocy and those who cannot think clearly with their power and money!! Sad really!! Now to research what Levi Straus owns and influences with his money!!

    • Brian Horton March 8, 2019, 4:52 pm

well for starters they not against gun owners or guns they’re against gun violence. Which im a proud gun owner but i dont support gun violence and if you dont your the ignorant one.

      • Jonas March 10, 2019, 7:21 am

Brian….. it’s “YOU’RE”, not “your”. Zip up your fly, your ignorance is showing.

See that? “Your” is a possessive term, referring to one’s ownership of a thing or idea, etc. “You’re” is a contraction of the words “you” and “are”. Before you keep talking about ignorance, you should check your own self. Bless your heart.

      • Joel Gardner March 10, 2019, 7:46 am

        Brian,
I’m a gun owner and a militia member as well. What this guy is doing isn’t what needs to be done. We need to teach and train more people to support gun rights and we need more people ready to defend themselves against the thugs of the world. By restricting guns it simply makes it harder for law abiding citizens to get a gun. No law has ever stopped a crime. To use the phrase gun crime instead of crime I believe is also wrong. They use the tag of “gun” to constantly link it to “crime”.

      • Cindy Koshinski March 10, 2019, 12:53 pm

Well, what responsible gun owner does support gun violence? The only problem with this fellow is that he is going to unwittingly play into the gun grabbers’ agenda, which intends to take it to the max.

  • Bob March 8, 2019, 1:10 pm

Do you honestly think that passing any gun control bill will make a difference in a criminal mind. If you do, you are dillusional. Tired of you liberal morons screwing with my 2nd Amendment rights. No more of my money will ever go to purchasing any of your products.

  • Ivor James March 8, 2019, 12:38 pm

I will never buy another pair of Levi’s jeans or any other of it’s products, period!

  • Ed March 8, 2019, 10:55 am

You just turned America’s pants into pussie pants. Carhart or Wranglers dam near anything else will work just fine. Livi can kiss my gun toting ass good by!!!

    • Susan March 8, 2019, 5:41 pm

Ed, I couldn’t agree more, I’ve always loved seeing a man in Wranglers anyway 🙂

  • Lee March 8, 2019, 10:46 am

This clown has just insured, I will never buy anything Levi Strauss sells! Ever again!!

  • JannyAnny March 8, 2019, 9:59 am

Guess who is gonna do photo shoot in her 501s…..holding her Saint
This girl. I’ll sell them for ya !!
    🤣🤣

  • Greg March 8, 2019, 9:31 am

This stupid BASTARD doesn’t seem to understand just what in the hell is is trying to start, it’s going to be a war here in the states again! I will most definitely be cutting my Levi’s up then pour kerosene on them to make sure nothing is left! If you mail them back to this FUCKING CLOWN, he will just send them back to his factory to be redone for some other fucking idiot to wear! No, I’M not going to mail them back, no enjoyment there, would rather use it as cleaning patches for my guns or burn THEM!!!! I use to enjoy wearing these jeans and I have a good amount of dockers, but now I will be BURNING ALL OF THEM AFTER I HAVE USED THEM AS CLEANING PATCHES!!!!!! ALL BECAUSE OF THIS BASTARD, he can’t get his word out there unless he bribes his employees, too bad that they can’t send his ASS to another country!!!!!!

    • Mel Morgan March 8, 2019, 3:02 pm

I love tis man’s enthusiasm. I feel the same way. I will never buy another pair of Levis.

  • Ted March 8, 2019, 9:30 am

Just go to American Clothing Company in Ohio….American made Jeans….Never another pair of Levis….

  • Frank March 8, 2019, 8:54 am

Oh well, another foolish brand I will no longer buy. What exactly are they going to do EXACTLY to end gun violence?
I never hear any plan besides trampling the 2nd amendment and gun industry.

  • Stuart Upchurch March 8, 2019, 8:35 am

I wonder if the Vietnamese, Guatemalan and Indonesians get equal time off from your sweatshops! You so kind! I bought my LAST Levi’s. I can’t stand your hypocrisy. Levi Strauss was always associated with the “wild west”, firearms and denim. Looks like you sold out and never learned the lessons of Dicks Sporting Goods!

  • Joel E March 8, 2019, 6:51 am

    Goodbye Levi’s…

  • Rex March 8, 2019, 6:50 am

Any form of gun control is unconstitutional. Enforce the laws on the books dont waste time on disarming law abiding gun owners. Disarming legal gun owners will only create a problem that nobody wants…ever.

  • Joe March 8, 2019, 6:49 am

I’m thinking that we the people should bankrupt you and anyone else that steps on our constitutional rights. We dont need you telling us what is what so get off your high and mighty horse. Until someone breaks the law set forth by the second amendment sit down your opinion stinks of oppressionalistic scumbagism . Who the hell do you think you are helping ,wake up you dont get to be a criminal by obeying what ever you hope to accomplish. All that you could ever accomplish in your thinking is to unarm good citizens. Great thinking dumnass . Keep up this way of thinking and the way you make a living can and possibly will be a thing of the past. I’m still in disbelief of what your trying to do to our country the same one you took money from. Your not going against the so called popular vote. How about we find it against the law for your fucking companies to hire mostly to all part time employees, giving you no rights to deny them benefits, ok buttercup your a stand up guy I challenge you to go against the so called popular vote and give all your employees full benefits with full time jobs being at least at 95percent. This stand makes more sense than yours does. I’m betting you fall right in line with all the other big business that every day takes millions from their employees in the name of profit. So how do you or anyone else profit by taking guns from citizens. Please take your time to answer so we the people can slam you with the facts you seem to overlook. Yeah just in case your to fucking stupid to realize this one common sense fact ” GUNS CANNOT BE HELD RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY CRIME THEY DONT THINK FOR THEMSELVES “. Your just another self serving piece of shit scumbag trying to remove our rights. As far as the other referenced companies very bad reference you just proved my point . The could care less they fired their employees that they care so much about. Now with no legs to stand on maybe you will be man enough to apologize to the American people and do what is right . Here in the great U.S.A. believe in punishing the guilty not the innocent.

  • Kim March 8, 2019, 6:35 am

I just googled it… 99% of their jeans are made outside of the USA. I had no idea. This article has opened my eyes in more than one way. No more Levi’s for this family.

    • Bob Mailly March 9, 2019, 6:11 pm

Since they are made in other countries maybe we should ban there import by
the simple fact they are part of wanting to help fund a revolution in our country against gun ownership.

  • Customer March 8, 2019, 6:13 am

When companies use their political veiw to influence people to make policy changes in thie country isn’t smart business so bye bye Levi’s til this CEO IS REMOVED FROW YOUR COMPANY

  • Brian James March 7, 2019, 11:42 pm

I have not and will not buy their fucked up and over priced brand and now i find that they support the left wing i definitely will bann them from my family.

  • Lyle March 7, 2019, 11:42 pm

I love Levi jeans but guess what I will not buy another pair as long as this guy is there CEO. You should stick to selling jeans and let the politicians politic you can have your personal opinion on the matter and if you personally want to do something then go for it but you should leave your company and its employees out of it.

  • Dennis cochnauer March 7, 2019, 11:28 pm

Let things get a little tough he moved his levi plant to old mexico now wants to tell. Us how to run our business and how to protect our family

  • Tammy Boen March 7, 2019, 10:45 pm

Why don’t you just give everyone lollipops while you’re at it!! The guns are NOT the problem, the people picking them up choosing to use them ARE!!

  • greg March 7, 2019, 10:29 pm

I stopped buying Levi’s when they sold out to WalMart with China made ‘knock offs’ ….. now I have one more reason to ‘never buy a Levi’s product ever again’ ..

  • Forrest March 7, 2019, 10:21 pm

Why is anybody concerned what he does. When they start making Levis in this country again, even 20 %, then I’ll listen to someone who may have an oppinion.

  • Burger March 7, 2019, 10:17 pm

Levi’s will take a plunge now just like Dick’s did. See how he likes this history.

  • Kirt Linford March 7, 2019, 9:57 pm

So done with Levi . I will check my pant to see if I have a pair to burn !!!

  • Sherry March 7, 2019, 9:41 pm

Guess it’s Wrangler and Lee all the way for me! Don’t buy Levi’s!

  • Law Abiding Citizen March 7, 2019, 9:30 pm

Our family shall never buy another any of your other brands.

Reason, you are just another far left liberal Democrat trying to force people to give up guns.

Why don’t you simple move to a country that does not allow guns.

  • Tracy March 7, 2019, 9:08 pm

You want a war against gun owners? Get real, First of all we know we can’t fix stupid. Second you just made yourself the squeaky wheel. Last thought ask you your traitor friend Hillary how this is going to work out for you. Might I suggest you put up anti gun signs on your mansion lawn. I will ask my NRA for free signs for your neighbors.

  • D March 7, 2019, 8:52 pm

    Never buying their products again

  • Floyd Guinn March 7, 2019, 8:42 pm

Berths is another nut who really does not know a think about guns or gun control. People like him make me sick. I will ever use any of their products again. These idiots are going to keep on until there is revolution in this country

  • Tim A March 7, 2019, 7:53 pm

As a VERY loyal customer, you have lost my business. As a sportsman and supporter of the 2nd amendment your stance disgusts me. Why do you think as a CEO you are powerful? Your only power has cost your company money that I spend on my entire family’s clothes. I support being able to be a responsible gun owner and pride myself in keeping my family safe! You should be fired!

  • Terry Intermill March 7, 2019, 7:34 pm

I will not buy another pair of jeans from Levi again.

  • Jim Parrie March 7, 2019, 7:32 pm

Screw that pencil necked douche. His products haven’t been worth buying since they offshored production. I get a better pair of jeans for $12.00 at Costco. Maybe he will have some time on his hands to contemplate just how wrong he is when his business tanks.

  • Shirley kelley March 7, 2019, 7:28 pm

I have bought my last pair of jeans or anything else for myself and my husband. They were at one time part of the backbone of the country!

  • E-4 Wardog March 7, 2019, 7:28 pm

Ironic how the article mentions the he was an Army officer, wanting to protect the constitution! I wonder if he has ever been in combat…oh yeah, silly me…the Officers send the enlisted into combat. So it’s only logical to him to send his employees out to fight for him….AGAIN!

    -Real War Veteran

  • Joe Bouvier March 7, 2019, 7:15 pm

    Goodbye, period, end of story!!!

  • James Himes March 7, 2019, 7:13 pm

now why in hell would this Genius want to go doing something like that? i thought sure all of the brand suicide all the other businesses have suffered would keep most of the rest of them fairly unresponsive about this issue because MOST of the ones who comment on this sort of thing have ZERO clue what the hell they\’re even talking about when they take these stands against all of America\’s 2nd ammendment rights. All this does is get people pissed off and make them not want to shop in those stores, not buy your product, and makes staunch defendants of 2A really pissed that you are yet gain limiting them on the purchasing choices they make regularly with your choice to fight against their constitutional rights. NOT GONNA CHANGE A THING other than pissing people off and makes them not want to buy your products at all because you\’re being so ignorant! there\’s a whole list of anti-gun establishments i won\’t go to because of their Anti 2A stance Starucks, Panera bread, TGI FRIDAY\’S, Buffalo Wild Wings, well here ….http://concealednation.org/2018/04/report-here-are-54-anti-gun-companies-that-dont-deserve-your-business/

    • pegasus March 7, 2019, 9:51 pm

Doesn’t make sense that this CEO was an officer defending our constitution. Does this mean that he is against our constitution now? My hubby & I will not buy Levi products either. This CEO isn’t paying his employees to volunteer to go to the Non gun training. He is BRIBING his employees. He is a turn coat for sure.

  • Patrick March 7, 2019, 7:01 pm

Been wearing their products all of my life. Not any more…. when you have companies or celebs who speak of their ignorant views, then you lose your customers or fans. Too many other great products out there.

  • Wes Eavey March 7, 2019, 7:00 pm

There is no such thing as GUN VIOLENCE… it is PEOPLE VIOLENCE… GET it right!!!! This only shows his ignorance….

  • Ralph March 7, 2019, 6:57 pm

Question, what did Levi’s contribute for Jewish refugees during the Holocaust. My parents told me this company did Zero even though it’s Jewish owned. Democratic caucus states Omar’s remarks bear more resilient fact than that of those who survived the Holocaust .

They are saying Jews like myself who’s parents suffered during and after the Holocaust bears zero credibility over those who’s hatred of Jews is prevalent for centuries.

No Levi’s, this Jewish son of Holocaust survivors doesn’t support your cause. My father was a Partisan and your organization didn’t raise one finger.

  • Brenda Cookson March 7, 2019, 6:47 pm

You’ve just lost a 30 plus year customer!! I even bought my unborn granddaughter a “First Levis” gift set last night! They’re going straight back tonight.

  • Mom of boys March 7, 2019, 6:38 pm

I will be buying carhartt and wranglers. This idiot doesn’t understand gun laws keep guns out of law abiding citizens not the criminals.

  • Dan March 7, 2019, 6:34 pm

Junk jeans anyway. They tailor them different now with smaller crotch room to cater to queers. Bankrupt them. I will never go into a Chipotle, Starbucks it wear Levi’s again. Take a stand. It’s not that difficult to find other companies.

  • John Yanero March 7, 2019, 6:16 pm

BANKRUPTCY will look good on you!

  • John Schug March 7, 2019, 6:06 pm

I won’t spend a dime on any liberal companies. Wranglers for me.

  • Randy March 7, 2019, 5:59 pm

Why do CEO’s believe that their personal views should be those of the company. Did he ask the employees their views? As long as this is the view and actions of Levi’s, I will no longer buy them.

  • Keith Teachout March 7, 2019, 5:39 pm

I am 64 years old and I have been buying and wearing Levi clothing all my adult life. NO MORE I am officially done with this unamerican company.

  • Deborah March 7, 2019, 5:37 pm

I quit purchasing Levi’s years ago, when they pulled their support for Boy Scouts of America. This just seals the deal. I will be sure every one I know is aware of this ridiculous policy.

  • Susie Shelton March 7, 2019, 5:35 pm

No more Levi anything for this family EVER….. All you big companies are in for one Hell of a Rude Awakening……..

  • Steve Jenkins March 7, 2019, 5:31 pm

I wonder when him or his family behind their wall gets threatened when they leave their walls guards with guns would protect them. If no guards I guess he’d rather call someone with a gun to protect his sorry ass if not that he could take his Levi’s off and through them at em.

  • celtblood March 7, 2019, 5:30 pm

Levi’s have been going downhill for a long time, constantly changing the way their jeans fit to the point that you never can count on the sizes they have in the label, and chances are if the waist fits, the seat is too baggy. This will be the final straw for me. Personally, I recommend Wrangler– they’re just as good, fit much better because the sizing is reliable, and they’re a fraction of the price.

  • Steve March 7, 2019, 5:30 pm

Good that you want to stand for something. But why don’t you actually stand against the people that cause the issues instead of the tool they use. Law abiding citizens always seem to pay the price for the actions of criminals. So if you ask me Levi’s stands up for the criminals

  • RANDY KNUCKLES March 7, 2019, 5:16 pm

Well effective now i will no longer be buying Levi’s any more . I have worn Levi’s every since i can remember , but to take the stance they have taken against me freedoms and my rights i feel i can no longer support a company that is willing to take my rights away . The gun does not kill anyone it is the idiot that pulls the trigger , the spoon or fork does not make a person fat it is the person using it and the car does not kill any one it the person behind the wheel . WAKE UP PEOPLE GUNS DON’T KILL PEOPLE DO . Stop making it so easy for a person to use a gun in a crime . If a person uses a gun to kill another ….what do the get as punishment ??? They become a person with their face on the news and spend very little time in prison ………JUST MY OPINION TAKE IT OR LEAVE IT . By the way i am male and over 50yrs.old

  • Brian March 7, 2019, 5:14 pm

See you Levis family of 4 that just stopped buying your product. I never wish for a business to fail but there is always a first I hope you go down in 🔥 i just gonna feel bad for your employees that will be jobless that don’t follow your idiotic thinking. You will see that once you lose the business it won’t comeback. Looks like Carhart and Dickies here we come. Too late but you will see to keep politics separate from business. Can’t wait to see your stock hit the toilet

  • Kth March 7, 2019, 5:13 pm

Well Damn, no more Levi jeans for me… find something else,

  • Dell Herring March 7, 2019, 4:29 pm

In Piper Jaffray’s latest “Taking Stock With Teens” survey, American teens ranked American Eagle as their second favorite clothing brand after Nike. Levi Strauss didn’t even crack the top five.

Could it be that Mr. Bergh is simply trying to appeal to the younger crowd?

  • Rick March 7, 2019, 4:05 pm

It’s Lee and Wrangler jeans for me!

  • Mike March 7, 2019, 4:04 pm

I’m throwing my levis away come on wranglers

  • Susie March 7, 2019, 3:43 pm

Guns sold on the streets have nothing to do with people passing the request for them going though the all it takes a background check to get a gun but guns only kill by the people that holds them do you protect your home and family well we want be buying anymore Levies

  • Ann Marie Loomis March 7, 2019, 3:40 pm

Later days Levis… I will no longer purchase your products… Shame on you….

  • Wallace Mackay March 7, 2019, 3:38 pm

This is new world order. I will tell everyone i know and plaster it on my truck and ttailer the companies involved in trying to take away our rights to defend ourselves from Government overeach.

  • Alexander Marinesko March 7, 2019, 3:11 pm

Former Levi wearer, LEE for me, now!

  • Paula Watson March 7, 2019, 3:06 pm

I think that he needs to be replaced.
Made a mention of taking an oath to defend our Nation…”With What??a Slingshot?” He is a disgrace to the women and men who took the same oath and uphold it.
I am against Violence. However, I will defend myself and my family.
I agree there is problems, but banning weapons is not it.
How about having a data base of people who are proven mentally ill, secured of what lead to this diagnosis, but prohobits the purchase? How about stopping sells at flea markets unless they provide the same system gun shops use like the data base? How about prosecution of parents / any gun owner who do not exercise caution and make secure places for guns out of reach of children and the mentally ill? There is no one solution. There is however multiple solutions that could drastically reduce accidents where children have acess . Lets try these things before we hope on some bandwagon to ” constrict” our Second Amendment Right to arms.
As for big companies like Levi . You need to spend your money on getting homeless veterans off the streets, fed, trained and house them and help them with jobs till they can stand on their own. But no company should have a say in political issues and everything bearing your brand will be removed from my home and not given away, but put in the garbage where people like him need to go out with the trash . They need to elect a new CEO with some sense.
    Think about who buys jeans.

    • Gerry Randolph March 7, 2019, 8:19 pm

Lee’s I have wore Levi’s my whole life I payed 5$ for my frisst pairs done went and burned 8 sets Lee’s

  • Butch March 7, 2019, 2:44 pm

    Bye bye Levi

  • Pam Batley March 7, 2019, 2:30 pm

All these companies have lost my business. Walmart, Yeti, Dickies and Levi Strauss.
I am strong defender of 2nd amendment!!!

  • Chris March 7, 2019, 2:24 pm

I’m done with LEVI forever!! The ignorance in unbelievable. I hope he goes out of business over this and is made an example of.

  • John Mitchell March 7, 2019, 1:58 pm

Love Levi jeans, but you just lost me forever as long as you don’t believe in the second amendment.

  • John March 7, 2019, 1:57 pm

    I guess I won’t be buying Levi’s!

  • kelly March 7, 2019, 1:55 pm

along with what seems to be a few former customers I have been one since the late 60’s and now I am done with your overpriced off shore made garbage …. Thanks for being honest about your heads being up your butt bye bye Levi……

  • David March 7, 2019, 1:48 pm

Was my favorite, NEVER will I buy Levi’s again! Dont these companies know it’s best to keep your mouth shut!!!

  • Mark Given March 7, 2019, 1:45 pm

Another company that I’ll be boycotting just like Dicks

  • John March 7, 2019, 1:31 pm

Have worn Levi’s forever. No more! Their other brands are Dockers, Denizen, and Signature. I will never knowingly spend another red cent with this company.

  • Don. Molder March 7, 2019, 1:29 pm

My family will never buy any thing made by Levi.

  • Rick March 7, 2019, 12:58 pm

Levi would roll over in his grave to learn some cuckold named “Chip” was running his company

    • Ricky l Phillips March 7, 2019, 3:18 pm

      Not running. Ruining.

    • Wallace Mackay March 7, 2019, 3:39 pm

      Haha, so true..

  • Darren March 7, 2019, 12:29 pm

Guns don’t kill people people kill people shoot people get that through your thick head most Democrats are not common smart

  • Sgt. Harrison March 7, 2019, 12:23 pm

I stand for the American way of life and the freedoms I fight for as a service member and veteran. I always had a pair of these jeans because they represented old to new in America, not they represent an anti American way of life. Levi’s have are no longer welcome in my home. If you wear them bring a pair of alternates, because your not coming in. May your jeans become a spec of dust as in history we may only remember through google.

  • Marlon Lane March 7, 2019, 12:22 pm

    Wrangler here i come!!!

  • Dustin Henderson March 7, 2019, 12:14 pm

    I used to like Levi’s!!!!

  • B Harn March 7, 2019, 12:11 pm

How about taking the guns out of Criminals and Terrorist hands first? Too hard for you? Much easier to get them from law abiding citizens eh? How about teaching our kids morality in class instead of unusual sexual practices? Kids used to have guns in their vehicles in the 50s and 60s. What has changed since then? Liberal teachers!

  • Butch March 7, 2019, 12:08 pm

I’m about to turn 65. I’ve worn Levi’s since I was in school. That’s a long run but now it’s over. You should have learned something from Dicks but nobody said liberals were smart people. I’m done with your brand.

  • Yvonne March 7, 2019, 12:02 pm

Another elite member of society disguising the way to implement gun control / people control. How about focusing on the real threats to our country. By the way, Planned Parenthood has killed more children and receives taxpayers monies to kill. NRA has never killed anyone and receives 0 $.

  • Green Beastie March 7, 2019, 11:59 am

The best way to fight against the anti-gunners using kids for their agenda is to support programs like the USA High School Clay Target League which gets kids involved in shooting sports through their schools.

Something like 30,000 kids in the program just this year. Nobody’s bigger, nobody’s doing a better job than those guys in getting kids involved.

  • Not coming after your guns March 7, 2019, 11:52 am

The “paraphrasing” of Everytown’s website is completely wrong and sensationalistic. Please check sources and think for yourselves. The deep divisions in our country can only heal if everyone accurately understands the other side’s perspective. Doesn’t everyone want responsible common-sense gun regulations so our friends and families can stay safe? Do you really want a crazy criminal running around armed to the hilt??

    • Lance March 7, 2019, 2:55 pm

There are already laws in place, in every state, designed to prevent both felons and the mentally-ill from purchasing guns.

    • David dziados March 7, 2019, 3:02 pm

Your a complete idiot if you think we are that stupid!why is it always the people that okay the law that have to pay the price for the few that don’t.you people don’t have the balls to fo after the actual criminals that are killing people!you just want to puff out your chest and pretend your helping our country by taking guns away from law abiding citizens.hitler said the same thing we don’t want your guns!tour fools and Americans are wise to your propaganda.

  • Jeffery March 7, 2019, 11:46 am

Levi’s u k kiss this and I don’t mean these rosie red lips I talking about where the sun don’t shine. I will never buy Levi jeans again I burnt the ones I had, and just like Dickhead sporting goods they can do the same, I promise never to visit their store again even if their giving shit away, . Crooks still going to get guns no matter what, why don’t you put ur money to stop killing babies oh but that’s ok with you guys uh. U can’t fix stupid.

  • Gary Rank March 7, 2019, 11:26 am

I will not buy another pair of jeans from Levi again.

    • Larry Burson March 7, 2019, 12:28 pm

Buy Wranglers better Jean’s since Levi went overseas to make their products. I wouldn’t buy any boycott them

What a corporation does, and who they support is none of my business as long as it is none of my business. Once they announce it to the world I will vote with my dollars.

I love Levis jeans but their need to express their politics makes me uncomfortable supporting them with my business.

  • Nathan March 7, 2019, 11:05 am

When shft happens we are gonna need our gun to keep pants on our ass or learn how to sew really well. Levis pants last about 4 months before the crotch starts ripping out.

  • Jessie Glascock March 7, 2019, 10:51 am

I have always worn Levi jeans(I am now 63 years old) but will not spend another dime supporting this company or its idiotic principles.

  • zchonie miller March 7, 2019, 10:44 am

Levi’s. I am 78 years old. The last pair of Levi’s Jeans I bought I found were made in Mexico. and they fit like shit. they are in my closet, I was planning to donate them to good will, But now I think I’ll just burn them instead. I can assure you of one thing for sure, I’ll never buy another Levi’s product.

  • Robert Giese March 7, 2019, 10:28 am

I’m a 72-year old retiree of the United States Navy. Since I was a youngster, I’ve always worn Levi’s. No wranglers for me and no other jean of lesser quality. I own three pair of Levi’s to this date. I intend to cut them up and send them to this stupid CEO. Does anybody know his address? Will anybody join me in ripoff up their jeans and sending them to Levi’s, just to send them a message? The most dangerous thing to our nation right now are mentally deranged leftists who are, unfortunately, in a position of power and have an open mic. I ask each of you to boycott Levi’s from now on unless they change their policy to support and defend the United States of America, against all enemies, foreign and domestic. All enemies foreign and the domestic includes this CEO. He is committing a crime against the constitution by failing to live up to his responsibility to protect us from him, one of those who swore to protect us. Just ask the CEO of Starbucks how his anti-American policies turned out. //s//Bob, LT, SC, USNR (Ret) a mustang naval officer.

    • Drew March 7, 2019, 11:24 am

I’m with you!!! I’m going to cut my Levi’s up and send them to the CEO. I’m going to write on the box, “This is the last pair I’ll ever buy”. They are not looking to end gun violence, they are looking to take guns away and make them unattainable. Done with Levi’s!!!

    • Jarid March 7, 2019, 12:29 pm

Disgusting. Guys like this who took an oath that means nothing to them but they use it as a way to legitimize themselves. This CEO I’m sure lives behind guarded walls and had security details the same as the rest of the anti gun leftists that want to take a bottle of whiteout to the constitution for the rights they don’t like but claim the rights they do like should never ever be limited like freedom of speech that allows them to spit out lie after lie for power and total control. The second amendment was there so the people could guard against the people with the most power in our country and the military the control. It’s also why when our soldiers take there oath they are forbidden to take place in confiscation or property siezure from the citizens.

  • Gary Hall March 7, 2019, 10:26 am

I’ve worn levis all my life and I’m 62. I now live in Wrangler country and have for 24 yrs. but always wore Levis and defended the Levis brand. Now my guns will be tucked into Wranglers. I will never budge on my 2ed admin rights no matter which company tries to infringe on lt.

  • Albert Elizondo March 7, 2019, 10:23 am

You have way too many people that wanna play politics I need you grow up and leave our gun control to the politicians but I will keep my gun

  • StarvinMarvins March 7, 2019, 10:23 am

Chip, you need to look at the real problems in America rather than mess with one of our Constitution Rights. Guns are not the problem. Guns don’t kill people, people kill people. It’s time you big corporations keep your liberals thoughts to yourself. You just lost another customer that has wore the Levi name for 50+ years.

  • RF March 7, 2019, 10:20 am

I edc and have worn Levi’s my entire life. I’m ashamed of the company and will no longer buy the product. There are many other great options out there so when mine ware out I’m done! I can’t think of a better way to ware the ones I have then with an open or conceal carry lol

  • 191145 March 7, 2019, 10:17 am

I cut the legs off my Levi’s, split them up the side and lay my AR-15 on them to clean it. I use the pockets as bore patches and when I rust blue firearms I use the leftover material to card the rust flakes off.

  • Rhonda chastain March 7, 2019, 10:15 am

    No more Levi’s for me

  • Bruce March 7, 2019, 10:04 am

I’m 72 and had been warring Levi’s 60+ years. A year or two ago I found that a new pair of Levi’s didn’t really fit right when I got them, figured I just put on a few extra pounds but I hadn’t. Then I found that Levi’s moved from San Francisco to China to stay profitable. Hell, they were charging $40.00 ish and they didn’t lower the price after the move. My wife and I were shopping at Costco and I noticed they had Kirkland jeans, they were really heavy material and about $10 – $12 ish so I bought a pair. I figured if I didn’t like them after I tried them at home I could take them back the next time I was at Costco. They fit great and at my age I don’t give a damn what name is on my pants.

  • Patrick March 7, 2019, 10:02 am

Well, beyond the fact that your products have been shit for years, this is just one more reason to purchase better jeans at Walmart…

  • Al March 7, 2019, 9:58 am

I’m 62 worn Levi’s all my life till now. Good company gone liberal, I guess they forgot why buys there product.

  • John March 7, 2019, 9:54 am

For the Levi’s I do own, I will proudly wear my gun with them.
Now, I will never purchase anything that says Levi’s!
Stop being part of the problem in America!
For us law abiding citizens, carry on with our CCW!
    God Bless America

  • Tom March 7, 2019, 9:44 am

I have a pair that I just bought that I will be returning. I was buying the 559’s because it would fit my gun in the front pocket so we’ll. Just know that the reamaining Levi’s I have will have firearms in them. Now I have to find something else. I will buy them no more, I am almost ashamed to wear the ones I have now! I hope they go out of business!

    • Joe March 7, 2019, 12:10 pm

Try Carhart, better quality, have more belt loops.

      • Mark March 7, 2019, 6:32 pm

Much better quality and much less expensive.

  • Karey Engel March 7, 2019, 9:34 am

Instead of looking at taking away on of our rights. Maybe he should consider the texting and driving issue. More teens, and young adults, die from that then gun related deaths.
Or possibly doing away with automobiles to keep people from being killed by drunk drivers. That would solve two problems of innocent people being killed or injured by simple doing away with one privilege. Surely that would be alot easier than doing away with one of our rights.

  • Erma Huntley Rhodes March 7, 2019, 9:23 am

    STUPID MOVE DUDE

  • Ron Bush March 7, 2019, 9:21 am

Guess I’ve bought my last Levi product!

  • Jon March 7, 2019, 9:17 am

I too want to end the violence but donate the money to mental health where it is need. Donate to the real problem.

  • jcb March 7, 2019, 9:07 am

I’ve had guns all of my life and none of them has been violent. How about ending the “People Violence?” “End The Gun Violence” is a euphemism designed to “reeducate” folks toward totalitarianism.

    • Dylan March 7, 2019, 12:32 pm

Silly and ridiculous. Conservatives truly are the real snowflakes.

  • Tony King March 7, 2019, 9:00 am

I’m 59 yrs old and have worn Levi’s over 50 of those years, my family and myself will never purchase Levi’s again and will also spread the word by all means available to see that as many people as possible know what is going on at levi

  • Russell Abernathy March 7, 2019, 8:46 am

I’m 64 years old and have always worn Levi’s jeans everyday since I was a kid I’m done never will purchase another Levi product again ! Check out American Giant they sell jeans and all their clothing is made in America best of all

    • Diane March 7, 2019, 9:39 am

$150 for a pair of women’s jeans. No, thanks.

  • robert March 7, 2019, 8:42 am

sorry levi,i wont be buying your products anymore,im a responsible gun owner,i will campaign against your company,i hope in 5 years u will be out of business.

  • Karla March 7, 2019, 8:41 am

Time to burn my Levi’s 🤮😡🤬

  • Gene Sax March 7, 2019, 8:22 am

Well EVERYTHING in my house with the Levi name on it will be burnt in my yard today!!!

    • Eric March 7, 2019, 10:55 am

So, you paid money for those jeans and instead of donating them to the homeless to help another problem you are going to burn them in your yard and…what? exactly does that solve? Take a stand, sure…everyone’s right to protest. But to destroy a product that can help someone else shows you care about no one but yourself, and the Sermon on the Mount and other teachings of our Lord means squat to you. Glad you get to be privately mad with no endgame….Levi got your money, my friend. And your actions made zero difference in the end. Signed – Proud 2A and follower of Jesus

  • Wayne March 7, 2019, 8:17 am

I guess as for myself I won’t be buying any more Levi’s 4 my employees which comes to thousands of dollars I’ve spent for work clothes! Not a real smart move there because the amount of people you’re going to lose in your sales your stocks are going to plummet. What a shame!

  • R March 7, 2019, 7:27 am

Nobody disagrees with ending gun violence you moron! We disagree that disarming the law abiding does anything to affect the criminals….who do not obey laws….from committing gun violence! Once you try wranglers jeans you will find them to be of superior style, comfort, fit and durability. My Levi’s are gone and will never buy another pair.

    • Cecile Barbour March 7, 2019, 9:10 am

      What. ???
The problem is not owning a gun It’s. from
taking. PRAY OUT OF SCHOOL. PLEDGE TO THE AMERICA FLAG.ETC.
      WAKE UP PEOPLE

      • Pat March 7, 2019, 12:23 pm

EXACTLY!!!!! The mental stability has seriously declined since taking God out of people’s lives. They don’t know how to handle stress, how to deal with daily issues nor any knowledge of love that is had for them, nor even have a code of good conduct. Taking God out of people’s lives leaves them unprepared for life!

  • Brent March 7, 2019, 7:24 am

It’s hilarious to me that they point out, “he was an Army Officer after all.” Probably a Lieutenant, cuz the dumbass is lost. I’d habe respect for him, if they’d just said he was a soldier. But, he was just some our of touch idiot, that a sargent had to babysit. And when will these morons learn to stay out of politics? It never ends well, no matter their stance. Whatever though. Levis fit like shit in me. And are expensive as Hell. No need to boycott, when I don’t like their product in the first place.

  • Melanie March 7, 2019, 7:18 am

I will boycot any and all companies that openly support ANY government policy. Especially gun control and full term abortions. Politics have no buisness in your place of business. Period!

  • Kevin D Detterline March 7, 2019, 7:17 am

Done with buying anything from your company!!! Hack !!

  • Melissa March 7, 2019, 7:12 am

Do what you want with the business and I will take my business elsewhere. NO MIRE LEVIS FOR THIS HOUSE!!! Plenty of other options.

  • Orval cook March 7, 2019, 7:01 am

Please provide a list of all Levi Strauss products. I do not even want to by accident purchase anything that would support you or your company ever again.

  • Mike March 7, 2019, 7:00 am

Poof, and just like that they’ve lost another customer!

    • Joyce Tye March 7, 2019, 8:16 am

      No more Levi’s for me!

  • Deb March 7, 2019, 6:49 am

Dang, I love Levis. I’ll have to learn to love something else.

  • Chuck Davis March 7, 2019, 6:29 am

Just shows how stupid people really are thinking guns are the problem. GUNS DON”T KILL PEOPLE, PEOPLE KILL PEOPLE! Haven’t bought Levi’s for a long time and now definitely will not buy them!

  • Bob March 7, 2019, 6:29 am

Been wearing Levi’s since High School. I am 52 now. I will never purchase another Levi’s product again. I prefer dangerous freedom over safe slavery everytime.

  • Karen Hayworth March 7, 2019, 6:27 am

Why the hell is he worried about guns in America. Levi Strauss moved their company out of this country so they could become richer by paying “sweat wages” to people instead of a decent wage. Then they ship their product to America and get paid mega bucks for their product. Why did you all keep buying their jeans when they took them out of this country. He makes it sound like he is giving the employees a big bonus for his sick thinking when actually they are getting a pittance from the company. It’s time to put this company out of business.

    • Sherry March 7, 2019, 9:17 am

Like your comment. And besides, anti gun people are the very ones who wish to make America unsafe, by assuring that the criminals are the ones who will always, but always have guns of any type they wish, just like they always have, and always will. Only the good people ever abide by rules, and that is something you cannot tell me that they already do not know for fact.

  • Cindy March 7, 2019, 6:15 am

Done buying Levi Brands for my hubby and I. Bet alot of Ranchers will do the same

    • Melanie March 7, 2019, 7:19 am

      Same here. Boycot them all!

  • Wilson March 7, 2019, 6:05 am

Well that’s a good way to go out of business…… Fuck you Levi’s!!!

  • Charlie March 7, 2019, 5:45 am

Amazing how peer pressure can erase 100+ years of company history. To put forth gun control laws the honest person has to admit gun control laws don’t work. Every, and I mean EVERY, mass shooting in America over the last 10 years were done with weapons legally purchased. Look it up if you doubt me, it’s all public records. What did occur was EXTREME POLITICAL CORRECTNESS. Mentally disturbed individuals who couldn’t be refused care requested by parent, Sandy Hook. Actions not taken by fellow officers against a radical outspoken Muslim, Ft. Hood. Neighbors not wanting to be labeled Islamiphobic, San Bernardino. Known to law enforcement as a mentally unstable individual and still allowed to legally purchase weapons, Pulse Nightclub. Combined law enforcement from FBI to school safety officer knowledge, community mental health officials, school board and administrators with multiple incidents of mental health issues failure to protect children, Parkland. And I could keep listing all the way back to Gifford, whose husband is extremely anti2A. Those honest, intellectually or morally, individuals who read this will give it some credence and research. Those that possess neither will dismiss it. Which person are you?

  • Shane Swift March 7, 2019, 5:39 am

What a joke! Proud to say I wear carhartt. America’s working man brand.

    • Ang March 7, 2019, 9:16 am

Carhartt has a horrific story as well…

      • Adam March 7, 2019, 1:01 pm

        Which is?

  • K Mitchell March 7, 2019, 5:36 am

Hello, every other brand of denim. You just lost a family of 5, and I’m pretty sure the majority of the rest of my family as far as customers. Can’t wait to hear about your products at Dick’s Sporting Goods soon.

  • Bruce March 7, 2019, 5:35 am

I have worn virtually nothing but Levi button fly shrink to fit Indigo since I was 12 years old. I ware them so continuously that I buy 1 to 2 pair a year.

When Levi came out with an anti gun stance about a year ago, I set aside my button Flys and bought L.L. Bean, zipper, no shrink and have worn nothing else since. For the last 50 years I have bought Levis. Rough expenditure of $9,000. Misplaced loyalty! Never again!

  • Tracy March 7, 2019, 5:19 am

Oh man! That really sucks. Can you say boycott?

  • CJH March 7, 2019, 4:57 am

Looks like our household has purchased our LAST pair of Levi’s. That’s the end of a 43 year run. Stupid move dude.

  • DJay March 7, 2019, 4:33 am

Just another reason why Wrangler butts drive me nuts!

  • Sherry March 7, 2019, 4:07 am

Wal-Mart still sells guns and Ammo.

  • Rick March 7, 2019, 4:05 am

Wranglers for me always hated Levi’s and I am a law abiding ccw holder and carry every day…I also train 2-3 times a week…remember criminals do not follow the law. The old west was won by firearms do fuck Levi’s and the ceo

  • Igor Izhchenkov March 7, 2019, 4:04 am

Why do these Communist Faggots always have that ‘ dick up the ass’ look on their face?

  • Don Larson March 7, 2019, 2:59 am

Levi won’t like when they end up like Dicks Sporting Goods. When will you learn that taking away guns from law abiding citizens, leaves only the criminals with guns. I am done with Levi’s.

  • Grant M. March 7, 2019, 2:08 am

Yet Bergh is guarded by security is armed to the teeth, and with some of those same “scary guns” like the AR-15 and M-4. I went to an event that he was at in Cali a few weeks ago and the number of armed personnel in his neighborhood led me to believe that his security detail would likely rival the firepower of the Secret Service if it came right down to it. Oh well, I guess that’s the “guns for me but not for thee” mentality for you, Bergh is the living embodiment of it.

  • Wayne Krauss March 7, 2019, 1:49 am

No more Levi’s products in my household. Done.

  • Daniel March 7, 2019, 1:46 am

Seriously disappointed! Threw my Levi’s out after reading this. 59 years old and always wore levi’s. Never again. Wranglers needs to get ready for a great fiscal year.

  • Jim Jacokes March 7, 2019, 1:41 am

I’ve worn Levi’s for 40 years. No more. Your CEO just lost my business.

  • Kaylynn March 7, 2019, 12:59 am

My three sons and all of the rest of my family will never buy Levi’s again!!

  • David W Johnson March 7, 2019, 12:41 am

REALLY? Are you that dumb #chipbergh ? What gives you the right to tell me I do not have a right to defend myself and my family against the evil that roam the streets of our nation? Yes! There are evil people out there on the streets of the United States of America who would rather kill us than walk past us.
Now we have people coming to America from countries listed as terrorist countries and we cannot tell if they are friends or foes. There are so many people on this wonderful planet that hate us because we live in the best and most wonderful country on the face of the planet, yet you want to take our best form of defense away.
I recently read an article from a top ranking Chinese leader that said “the only reason China will not attack America on their own soil is because we have an official army of just under two million, and the United States of America has an ‘unofficial’ army of over seventy million with so many citizen gun owners.”
China has the largest army in the world and we could not defeat them on their soil. If we lose our right to own guns, they will have the power to defeat us on ours. You keep fighting for gun control and you will have to learn to speak Chinese.

    Do not be stupid!!!

  • Richard Sparkman March 7, 2019, 12:40 am

70,000,000 gun owners now use Levi clothing for target practice. Shame such a United States product at one time will be filing bankruptcy because they have a Libtard CEO. There going to need more than luck to survive. Watch there stocks.. should be comical.

  • Terrence Dobson March 7, 2019, 12:21 am

That sucks! I’ve worn Levis almost my entire life. I guess I’ll start wearing wranglers again.

  • Jason coco March 6, 2019, 11:56 pm

They are overpriced anyways I’ll buy cheap jeans and take my savings and buy more guns

  • Bill March 6, 2019, 11:49 pm

Another moron that doesn’t realize that all the gun laws and restrictions in the world will NOT keep guns out of the hands of criminals and will only serve to hurt law abiding gun owners.

  • Jay March 6, 2019, 11:48 pm

What the fudge if he was being carjacked and someone saves him with a gun might change a little no Levi’s for self

  • Ginger Senn March 6, 2019, 11:46 pm

Wonder how many of his relatives that started the company are rolling over in their graves at his stupidity.

  • Patricia Touchton March 6, 2019, 11:31 pm

Damn. Guess I’ve bought my last pair of Levi’s. Too bad; I really like them. But not that much, I guess.

  • Mike March 6, 2019, 11:29 pm

Levis are for crap anyway, I haven’t worn them since I started buying my own clothes in high school, and been in Carhartts since I got into trade work 22 years ago.

  • Theresa March 6, 2019, 11:19 pm

I don’t care what they did in the past. More importantly is the here and now. No more levi’s For this house.

    • Sara March 6, 2019, 11:44 pm

No more dicks or Levi’s at this house!

  • Charles March 6, 2019, 11:13 pm

Well dumb ass , if it weren’t for guns you would never of had your Levi comp. So fuck you.

  • Frank March 6, 2019, 11:10 pm

Makes it an easy decision for me of who’s Jeans I will no longer buy, and I have bought quite a lot over the years.

  • C.mccon March 6, 2019, 10:56 pm

Best part of this article are the ads for Glock and Sig as I read through. That is the America I love. “Guns are evil”…have you tried a Glock?

    • Ashley March 7, 2019, 1:52 pm

That was the best part of the article!

  • Corey March 6, 2019, 10:51 pm

    Real men wear Wranglers.

  • Henry March 6, 2019, 10:50 pm

Hum I wonder where he stands on legalizing drugs open borders the marriage issues broken families and single parent families where does he stand on the communism that’s racing across our country now Where does he stand on tearing down our national monuments
Yeah that’s pretty much what I thought ham and all the social media’s. That became global giants off of capitalism and now wants to slap us with communism

  • Dlc March 6, 2019, 10:45 pm

When Socialism comes a knock’n he will no longer be the owner, he will only be the Facilitator of good’ol Levi Strauss! It’s best to stick to the Constitution of the United States as it is written.

  • Cole Rinehart March 6, 2019, 10:45 pm

You instead focus efforts on the pharmaceutical company’s who kill 4x more people than someone with a gun. Gun control only hurts law abiding citizens who have never killed anyone

  • Cole Rinehart March 6, 2019, 10:43 pm

I think ill quit buying and start boycotting Levi Strauss. 2nd Amendment people was put #2 for the people , so that tyranny and oppression isn’t brought unto the people .! Its not the guns ! Guns don’t kill . people kill.!!

  • Rick Crook March 6, 2019, 10:41 pm

History will prove you wrong, Nazi’s disarmed the European countries then euthanized the groups of people that were not an asset to them, Venezuela disarmed it’s citizens and look where they are now. All socialists governments operate this way. Guess I’ll have to burn all the Levi products I have, what a shame.

  • Adam March 6, 2019, 10:39 pm

That’s OK I like Carhart jeans better anyway.

    • GLV March 7, 2019, 4:52 am

Also try Duluth Pants=— benn wearing the firehose pants for work they are great.. They also offer Jeans.. I will be buying something other than Levi’s…

  • Joe March 6, 2019, 10:39 pm

Just received a pair as a gift. I’ll be asking for a gift receipt now.

  • Robert March 6, 2019, 10:38 pm

Good way to put your company out of business used to wear only your jeans I’ll be going elsewhere idiot

  • Steven Thomas March 6, 2019, 10:27 pm

I live four blocks from Dicks Sporting Goods. They have not received a penny from me since they opened their Anti-2nd, Anti-American mouth.

YOU will not get a penny from me either. What in the world is wrong with you people. Sell pants. Shut your political mouth.

  • ShieShie March 6, 2019, 10:27 pm

I guess we just have to make sure we boycott these companies so they will know how socialism works. Since they will be in the poor house without us capitalist gun owners!

  • Scott March 6, 2019, 10:21 pm

    Good thing I wear wranglers.

  • Frank Ritchie March 6, 2019, 10:15 pm

I guess I will never buy another pair of Levi’s, Wrangler is good

  • John March 6, 2019, 10:13 pm

So hears my thoughts. People that are Pro gun don’t ware Levi’s. And anti gun have to ware Levi’s. This will let me know what people I will protect if I’m ever in a situation of an active shooter. Just saying

  • Jerry Cate March 6, 2019, 10:01 pm

    Well I use buy levis!!!

  • Gary Jordan March 6, 2019, 9:59 pm

When are they going to realize that guns don’t kil people people kill people and if you take the guns from honest Americans then only the dishonest will have their ileagle guns and then what do you think going to happen every citizen of America has a right to defend theirselfs and don’t forget that

    • Sherry March 7, 2019, 4:06 am

I am widow and I have my Firearm for protection.Haven’t you heard of these home invasions picking up.
Why don’t you people work on closing these Gangs with our President to get them out of here close down Compton Calif. to start.

  • Sue March 6, 2019, 9:56 pm

Boy cott Levi Jean’s. What you are doing is wrong..guns dont kill..people do..

  • George Garrison March 6, 2019, 9:40 pm

Been buying 501s and 505s for 45 years. Guess I’m looking for a new brand of jeans!!!!

  • Mark Bollinger March 6, 2019, 9:37 pm

I have bought my last pair of Levi’s. I guess the CEO should have kept his company non political. Carhartt , and Wrangler can now have my business.

  • Annette S March 6, 2019, 9:32 pm

Dang it, no more Levis. Very disappointing and Now to find a jean that fits my husbands but and thighs. And the phrase “Gun violence”…. guns aren’t violent people! Idiocy.

  • Iron Horse March 6, 2019, 9:28 pm

I’ve been buying Wranglers and Dickies (not ‘Dicks’) for a couple of years now. Any company that decides to jump on the political bandwagon to participate in the ‘infringement’ process of any of our Bill of Rights no longer receives any of my patronage. The ceo of levis has just shot the company’s respectability in the foot – and it’s gonna sting for a long time. BTW, all the socialist liberals are easy to spot … they all wear those stupid levis skinny jeans – lol

  • Ricky March 6, 2019, 9:24 pm

Thank you Levis, Dicks and Walmart for making a stance even when the politicians are to gutless to. Its sad that we have to leave the moral decisions of our country up to businesses. #makeamericasafeagain

    • Chris March 7, 2019, 12:27 am

Any idea why they call criminals criminals? BECAUSE THEY DON’T FOLLOW THE LAW, STUPID!

    • Joe March 7, 2019, 2:50 am

      Soy Boy lol

  • Cheryl March 6, 2019, 9:11 pm

Levis helped win the West along with the Colts 45.
    Let’s not forget that.

    • Connie McKenzie March 6, 2019, 10:06 pm

Well this ain’t the same Levi company Cheryl! Let’s remember that!!

    • Connie McKenzie March 6, 2019, 10:10 pm

Well this ain’t the same company anymore Cheryl, let’s don’t forget that!!!!

    • Steve O'Loughlin March 6, 2019, 10:22 pm

Sam Colt and the .45 pistol ” won the west” Levi’s Strauss was a 49’er who was robbed of most of his stake. He made clothes for miners The rest is history.

  • Tim Carsey March 6, 2019, 9:08 pm

I will never buy there shit jeans and never shop at dicks

  • Mark Schnell March 6, 2019, 9:08 pm

    Real men wear Wranglers…
Fruits and nuts wear Levi’s…the ‘San Francisco jeans’…h

    • Ryan March 6, 2019, 9:13 pm

Ummm…Wrangler has donated millions to oppose the “stand your ground” laws. Looks like it’s Costco jeans for you.

      • David Rosier March 6, 2019, 10:55 pm

You have proof of that? Maybe a link to some article?

    • Robb March 6, 2019, 11:00 pm

Carhartt jeans are way better than Levi too, and cheap! Levi used to make good jeans, but now they are mainly over-priced skinny pants for soy boys who are into that kind of fashion.

  • Matt Trummer March 6, 2019, 9:06 pm

Since I was a teanager I have worn this brand. Now I will burn all of them. What a disgrace you are to a great company, I hope your sale plumet so they fire your opinionated ass.

    • Naomi Aldort March 6, 2019, 10:24 pm

Why, Matt. You prefer that people who are not responsible with guns, should have them???

      • 191145 March 7, 2019, 10:03 am

Naomi, you offer a straw argument because you know nothing about buying or owning firearms. I challenge you. Go to a FFL dealer and have them walk you through the process of purchasing a firearm. Untill you do this, keep quiet.

      • Pat March 7, 2019, 12:11 pm

NAOMI, Thank you!! Finally, someone who understands that it isn’t the gun, but the gun owner! All people should know and understand guns. Listen, we have training for driving cars but look at the deaths of people by car accidents. The left is not brandishing cars!
It is the people who are in need of counciling and mental health help. Put God back in our lives! The NRA has never killed anyone. No Levi’s at my house ever again!

      • Pat March 7, 2019, 8:39 pm

Hello criminals are not law abiding citizens they get guns from the black market not gun stores. So tell me again how taking guns from law abiding citizens is going to keep people safe?

  • Mark Shepard March 6, 2019, 8:58 pm

Hope he’s ready for all the gun owners who will boycott his products

  • Charles Haling March 6, 2019, 8:56 pm

If your not for America take your Jean company to Sri Lanka asshole@

  • Anthony Garbers March 6, 2019, 8:55 pm

Guess what I’m not buying anymore. Was wearing these and Lucky brand. I know what I’m buying going fwd. Not Levi’s.

  • doug March 6, 2019, 8:49 pm

they are all madee outside of the US anyway, so how is incentivizing his employees gonna work out?

  • Bob Cameron March 6, 2019, 8:41 pm

Haven’t shopped at Dicks Sporting Goods since they went anti guns and won’t be buying anything from Levi Strauss ever again.

  • Don March 6, 2019, 8:31 pm

No more Levi’s. I have officially become a Carhartt jean customer.

  • MTJ March 6, 2019, 8:24 pm

Anti-American! Forget the Constitution that’s ok. I don’t wear their crappy product anyway!

  • David Olijar March 6, 2019, 8:17 pm

How about having your employees volunteer at mental health facilitys? Make a difference where it can count.

  • Brenda March 6, 2019, 8:05 pm

Only Wranglers for this family from now on. Will never purchase a Levi Strauss product again.

  • MTJ March 6, 2019, 8:04 pm

Anti American right here. No more of this product for me or my family!

  • Doug March 6, 2019, 7:48 pm

Bye bye levis. Hello Wrangler! Amen.

  • Frank C DeRosa March 6, 2019, 7:45 pm

Well good for him. I hope he learns the same lesson as Dick’s. I actually like wranglers more anyway. Levi’s have left the rugged outdoors man and become Yuppi wear anyway. As much as they charge for their jeans it’s no wonder he can do stupid things with his money.

  • Gregory Russell March 6, 2019, 7:39 pm

‘Bravely took a stance’?! Who writes this bs?! The business of business is to serve consumers. Consumers don’t want the opinions, or political positions. This crusade of Levi Strauss Corporation is misguided. This is clearly a Constitutional matter. This corporation is NOT qualified to speak on behalf of the US Constitution, American opinion, or State and Federal laws. Levi’s has lost my consumer support, for being a liberal pawn.

  • Mike March 6, 2019, 7:26 pm

    Agree. 100 %

  • Jim March 6, 2019, 7:07 pm

    Hey Bergh,
I don’t care if you were in the military or not. You are about as unpatriotic as they come. First, your “all American” company takes it’s manufacturing out of the US, now you want good people to give up their guns for the big takeover. Good luck on selling you jeans, I won’t buy them.

    • Bergdahl was in the military too March 6, 2019, 9:44 pm

Bergdahl was in the military too, doesn’t always say your a patriot. I too took the oath when I joined the Census Bureau.

  • Rick March 6, 2019, 6:55 pm

Ur a worthless piece of shit!!! Lmao

  • Susan March 6, 2019, 6:44 pm

    This CEO is an idiot!

  • Chris mills March 6, 2019, 6:41 pm

I quit buying Levi’s over 20 years ago when they decided to be so pro gay and attack the boy scouts of America.

  • northsouth1967 March 6, 2019, 6:35 pm

Forget levi’s. I won’t buy them again. Calvin Klein and Wrangler are far superior jeans anyway. They have been for years.

  • Ronald Weddle March 6, 2019, 6:34 pm

I will NEVER buy another product from this company that is attacking MY rights and freedom.

  • Robert wilson March 6, 2019, 6:31 pm

I do not shop at dicks and will not buy anything from Levi

  • Susie March 6, 2019, 6:29 pm

What a Stupid move Levi’s Strauss! No more money spent on you!

  • Michael Houseman March 6, 2019, 6:24 pm

I won’t be buying any Levi Strauss apparel anymore. I will not support someone who is anti-Constitutional. I would recommend that anyone company that decides against the American people feel the full effect of that choice.

  • Drew Arlotta March 6, 2019, 6:10 pm

This is why I only buy Wrangler!!

  • Kirin March 6, 2019, 6:06 pm

He would be better served worrying about how the quality of their jeans has plummeted over the years. Thin, cheap, low-quality “denim” that falls apart after only a few washes. I’ll never buy another pair of Levi’s again. There are dozens of better jean companies out there that aren’t trying to infringe on the rights of anyone.

  • ronald moreck March 6, 2019, 5:59 pm

Buy Texas jeans USA made , quality and great price

  • Harold Tucker March 6, 2019, 5:59 pm

Wrangler jeans are much better anyway

  • Jason March 6, 2019, 5:58 pm

Really sad. I haven’t bought Levi’s since they cut off the original general store that sold their Jean’s because of low volume back in the 80s. That showed me a complete lack of loyalty. This has gone way too far now. I suggest placing business cards that simply say “Boycott LEVI’S” on the various store displays. Be sure to inform shooters at the range about this as well.

  • Peter Navarro March 6, 2019, 5:45 pm

Criminals will always have guns just like they always have drugs that have been illegal for centuries yet the criminals have no problem getting them, all day long. Taking guns away from people who do not commit crimes will not change anything.

  • Peter Navarro March 6, 2019, 5:44 pm

Criminals will always have guns just like they always have drugs that have been illegal for centuries yet the criminals have no problem getting them, all day long. Taking guns away from people who do not commit crimes will not change anything.

  • Lindsey Skeens March 6, 2019, 5:39 pm

I have bought my last pair of Levis and my family all 54 of us will spend our money else where . A company trying to strip us of constitutional rights. Very dad indeed

  • Harry beck March 6, 2019, 5:38 pm

    Finished with this company.

  • Lindakay March 6, 2019, 5:36 pm

No more Levi for my family. We rodeo and are the west. Protecting our family and possessions is our right. Sad that you have to bribe your employees. Shame on you😡

  • Mark Petersen March 6, 2019, 5:32 pm

I will never buy Levi’s, I buy Wrangler jeans !!

  • Sharon March 6, 2019, 5:22 pm

I have worn Levi brand for years because they fit so well. They can take it to the bank that they won’t be getting another penny from me as long as this loonie tunes is in charge. .”Naming his brand among the “pioneers of the American West” and the “great symbols of American freedom,” Bergh outlines three ways he’s hoping to restrict the constitutional rights of his fellow Americans.” He is correct in his statement that Levi Strauss is one of THE Brands that pioneered rugged wear, but he just took away his claim about it being a “symbol of American Freedom” by deciding to back those who wish to deny American’s their freedom. Mr. Berg, when you back the anti gun movement you are indeed backing those who wish to destroy our Constitution and our RIGHTS to keep and bear arms. You sir, are joining with the Anti Americans who wish to take this country down and reduce her to nation of slavery. I will not be a party to that and I will no longer be paying your company for any merchandise.

  • Lee Lowther March 6, 2019, 5:21 pm

Don’t these people realize that all they will do is keep guns out of the hands of legal and responsible gun owers the criminals will still have guns and continue to use guns in crimes and now it will be against unarmed and defenseless people

  • Jim Robertson March 6, 2019, 5:19 pm

From my standpoint my friend you are 250% wrong on this issue. Proudly wearing your product from before you were born now disgusts me. I understand to reach your status of CEO you must have some intelligence. Apparently I was wrong. Can you think of the words I would like to use to describe you. Give it some thought. We will have our guns and I’m glad that infuriates you

  • T J Mulhern March 6, 2019, 5:15 pm

The first thing that needs to be done is to have all criminals and their families give up their guns.
Second, that ALL police and government employees give up their guns.
Then after all of that has been done and has been documented and checked then and only then can they ask me for my gun.
But you know cops will not give up their guns because that is how they protect themselves. This also goes along with government employees.
Think about this, and this will never change, all this country will be doing if they make all of the innocent people give up their guns is to weaken a nation. And who is going to protect all of us…… no one.

  • john March 6, 2019, 5:06 pm

Anything and everything in my closet and my wife’s that says levi’s On it will promptly be removed to the garbage bin or burning barrel when I get home tonight will never own another levi’s Product ever

  • TK March 6, 2019, 4:52 pm

Finally, Bergh hopes to incentivize his employees to join him in his righteous crusade. Levi Strauss will double its usual employee donation match to anti-gun organizations and pay employees for sixty working hours per year (5 hours per month) to volunteer for the same organizations.

“We’re encouraging our employees to use their time to make an impact,” he said.

SOUNDS LIKE THEY’RE ALSO BRIBING AND BRAINWASHING THEIR EMPLOYEES FOR ANOTHER ANTI-GUN AGENDA TO ME.

  • Michael Weber PhD March 6, 2019, 4:45 pm

No more Levis for me, nor will I continue to buy them for children’s groups. I can findd just as good and cheaper. Levis may see what happens when the Dicks sporting customers revolted, heir stocks fell as did their sales

  • Stan March 6, 2019, 4:34 pm

Why isn’t he spending anything on the “car” violence epidemic? Car deaths in America DWARF gun deaths, and yet there is no anti-car lobby, is there? No one is calling for the elimination of “high speed” death machines, capable of traveling over 100 mph and killing a dozen or more in a single incident. Not a peep! Apparently it’s not lives we’re really trying to save here, it’s control of people’s lives we’re after.

  • TJ March 6, 2019, 4:31 pm

I haven’t bought Levi’s in about 10 years due to their liberal stance. I have about 8 pair left from over 10 years ago, but I will continue to buy anything other than Levi’s…

  • John Maldaner March 6, 2019, 4:29 pm

Levi, you are NOT raking a stand against violence through the use of guns. You are taking a stand against law-abiding patriots, the very people who (used to) buy your products. Attempting to marginalize good Americans is a poor marketing choice and not an effective approach to reducing crime. My hope is that your company rots in the marketplace along with Dick’s. Good riddance, fools.

  • Up yours March 6, 2019, 3:56 pm

I’m not going to be so nice.
So your a socialist globalist pig. Great, just remember I don’t need you (dumb ass) you need me (us the people). So you want to get rid of OUR second Amendment.well I now want to get rid of you. See I don’t need you or your jeans.
Carhartt make’s a great pair of jeans and from now on that will be my brand. I’m going to tell my son and all his friends. I’m going to ask them to spread this around his high school witch now enrolles 1600 students.
What’s wrong with you ? Did the crooks and drug lords in Congress offer you a deal that you would be one of the companies permitted to make clothes under socialist communist rule. What a stupid dumb ass you are. Hope your paying unemployment benefits for your employees. They are going to need them. Good by dumb ass

  • Rudy March 6, 2019, 3:31 pm

This will not end well for anyone. Not thinking this through. This will promote a civil war. Blood will be on many hands.

    • Eric G. Mitchell March 6, 2019, 4:50 pm

Speaking of companies that helped with the western expansion, Smith & Wesson, Colt, Winchester, Henry…

    • Jason March 6, 2019, 5:27 pm

      …. as it should.

    • Lucia March 6, 2019, 7:27 pm

I am so sick of for profit organizations telling me what my rights are! Levi Strauss is whirling in his grave. Taking our guns will only make matters so much worse! A civil war is brewing and these organizations are part of the problem!

  • Warren Barney March 6, 2019, 3:25 pm

Wrangler jeans ONLY, no more Levi’s!

  • Jim Yowell March 6, 2019, 3:24 pm

    Government Response To Gun Violence

A few things I dont like when it comes to the typical government response are…

    1) It always worries me when the “conversation” starts with “what should the government do,” instead of WHERE IN THE CONSTITUTION DOES THE GOVERNMENT GET THE *AUTHORITY* TO DO WHAT THEY ARE ABOUT TO DO!

    2) The willingness to compromise!  There is ONE thing you must be willing to do when you talk about “compromise.”  GIVE SOMETHING UP!

So, what part of the the 2nd Ammendment, or ANY of the Constitution should we be “willing to give up?!”

The 2nd Ammendment DID NOT “give us the right to  keep and bear arms!”  It says that it will PROTECT the right we already HAVE!

It says “the right of the PEOPLE to keep and bear arms SHALL *NOT* BE INFRINGED!

It doesn’t say “shall not be infringed…  Except for what type of weapon, how many rounds it carries, how fast it can fire, if it scares other people, what it looks like, or any other INFRINGEMENT the government  decides it wants to impose!

No, I not saying people with serious mental health issues, or violent criminals should be able to “legally” OR illegally obtain weapons!

And last, but not least, I’m concerned that even “conservative” congressmen let liberals and the MSM tell lie after lie after lie about the ACTUAL statistics of gun violence in this country, the amount of times weapons are actually used to either save a life or even just prevent a crime, and the fact that the term “assault rifle” is a made up term used to purposefully scare and deceive people and get them to give up some of their 2nd Ammendment rights!

Conservatives are SUPPOSED TO BE BETTER THAN THAT!

    • Gary Radford March 6, 2019, 7:12 pm

I was a fan of the brand Levi….But as of Levi’s stance on gun regulation I will no longer buy Levi’s.

  • Jim Yowell March 6, 2019, 3:19 pm

    Pure Truth About Gun Control

There are 30,000 gun related deaths per year by firearms, and this number is not disputed. The U.S. population is 324,059,091 as of June 22, 2016. Do the math: 0.000000925% of the population dies from gun related actions each year. Statistically speaking, this is insignificant! What is never told, however, is a breakdown of those 30,000 deaths, to put them in perspective as compared to other causes of death:

    • 65% of those deaths are by suicide, which would never be prevented by gun laws.

    • 15% are by law enforcement in the line of duty and justified.

    • 17% are through criminal activity, gang and drug related or mentally ill persons – better known as gun violence.

    • 3% are accidental discharge deaths.

So technically, “gun violence” is not 30,000 annually, but drops to 5,100. Still too many? Now lets look at how those deaths spanned across the nation.

    • 480 homicides (9.4%) were in Chicago

    • 344 homicides (6.7%) were in Baltimore

    • 333 homicides (6.5%) were in Detroit

    • 119 homicides (2.3%) were in Washington D.C. (a 54% increase over prior years)

So basically, 25% of all gun crime happens in just 4 cities. All 4 of those cities have strict gun laws, so it is not the lack of law that is the root cause.

This basically leaves 3,825 for the entire rest of the nation, or about 75 deaths per state. That is an average because some States have much higher rates than others. For example, California had 1,169 and Alabama had 1.

Now, who has the strictest gun laws by far? California, of course, but understand, it is not guns causing this. It is a crime rate spawned by the number of criminal persons residing in those cities and states. So if all cities and states are not created equal, then there must be something other than the tool causing the gun deaths.

Are 5,100 deaths per year horrific? How about in comparison to other deaths? All death is sad and especially so when it is in the commission of a crime but that is the nature of crime. Robbery, death, rape, assault are all done by criminals. It is ludicrous to think that criminals will obey laws. That is why they are called criminals.

But what about other deaths each year?

    • 40,000+ die from a drug overdose–THERE IS NO EXCUSE FOR THAT!

    • 36,000 people die per year from the flu, far exceeding the criminal gun deaths.

    • 34,000 people die per year in traffic fatalities(exceeding gun deaths even if you include suicide).

    Now it gets good:

    • 200,000+ people die each year (and growing) from preventable medical errors. You are safer walking in the worst areas of Chicago than you are when you are in a hospital!

    • 710,000 people die per year from heart disease. It’s time to stop the double cheeseburgers! So what is the point? If the liberal loons and the anti-gun movement focused their attention on heart disease, even a 10% decrease in cardiac deaths would save twice the number of lives annually of all gun-related deaths (including suicide, law enforcement, etc.). A 10% reduction in medical errors would be 66% of the total number of gun deaths or 4 times the number of criminal homicides ……………. Simple, easily preventable 10% reductions! So you have to ask yourself, in the grand scheme of things, why the focus on guns? It’s pretty simple:

Taking away guns gives control to governments. The founders of this nation knew that regardless of the form of government, those in power may become corrupt and seek to rule as the British did by trying to disarm the populace of the colonies. It is not difficult to understand that a disarmed populace is a controlled populace.

Thus, the second amendment was proudly and boldly included in the U.S. Constitution. It must be preserved at all costs. So the next time someone tries to tell you that gun control is about saving lives, look at these facts and remember these words from Noah Webster: “Before a standing army can rule, the citizens must be disarmed. Do not let the Democrats disarm America. That is their goal. It is not suppressors, or AR15s or lives. It is all about Democrat Control.

    • Ron Hollinger March 6, 2019, 6:11 pm

Watch the new commercials? That alone is enough to never buy these thin crap jeans made by liberal rats and their gun snatching views.

    • T Speed March 6, 2019, 8:29 pm

If your statistics are correct(and I hope they are for the sake of the argument) I can not see how anybody would be able to dispute this. Guns are NOT the problem. Now….how do we get everyone on the same page? Huge endeavor!

  • Steve March 6, 2019, 3:17 pm

Never again will I buy any Levi’s.

    • David Vortman March 6, 2019, 4:17 pm

I will stop buying your jeans if you are that stupid to have no way to protect yourself or family!

    • Helen Gardner March 6, 2019, 5:24 pm

      Guns have saved lives also

  • Ronald Wallace March 6, 2019, 3:16 pm

Will not buy any of their goods

  • Jessie Nester March 6, 2019, 3:10 pm

Well it looks like I just became a Wrangler type of guy. LOL Levi’s are too expensive anyway. He will be surprised how many loyal customers he lost with that decision that he politically made. Sorry not sorry

    • Richard Vickery March 6, 2019, 7:56 pm

I will never buy another thing from from these people. They are out of business as far as I’m concerned

  • carola press March 6, 2019, 3:07 pm

I no longer shop with Dicks and I will never shop with Levi again! Taking guns will not stop violence. You need to support our country and your constitution! Patriots won’t have it and we will keep our guns period!

    Carola Press

  • William Rill March 6, 2019, 2:23 pm

I haven’t bought a thing from Dick since they took their stand, bought my last pair of levi’s .

  • James Sawyer March 6, 2019, 2:17 pm

Yes, you have wealth and power and the ability to do things. However you know absolutely nothing about the complex issue you are involving yourself and your company in. You are virtue signaling from a place of ignorance and possibly arrogance. A dangerous combination.

  • Gordon Tillman March 6, 2019, 2:08 pm

Use to wear them back when I was younger then I got older and they really cost to much so I went to cheaper better feeling jeans as long as they fit and didn’t break the bank . But you I want never buy nothing else in my life with Levi’s name on it and everyone I no I will pass the word not to buy Levi’s products. Candy ass CEOs should be fired for stuff like this.

  • Bye bye Levis... March 6, 2019, 2:06 pm

Another company shot in the foot by a liberal who wants to take our rights from us. We’ll see how that works for ya. Have you talked to Dicks lately?

  • James March 6, 2019, 2:05 pm

Nobody buys their crap anymore!!! They have been out since the early 90’s!!!!!

  • Clarence March 6, 2019, 1:57 pm

I grow up on Levies now my family won’t by again and I have a large family and I’m spending the the story here we come carharrts

  • Danny March 6, 2019, 1:46 pm

You just committed economic suicide sir by playing around with our constitutional right to own a gun. Been good knowing y’all!

    • Randy Hensley March 6, 2019, 3:03 pm

I hope Levi’s ceo realizes what he’s just done and shits his pants.
      Dumass

  • Debbie March 6, 2019, 1:37 pm

I won’t buy Levi’s for anyone ever again. Maybe he should use some of his influence and get people better mental health. Get these kids help who are attracted to all the violent games and you-tune videos!! It’s a persons brain- thoughts- emotions that make them kill someone! The gun doesn’t jump up out of its place and say “ hey I think we should go kill someone today!”

  • Marty Swartz March 6, 2019, 1:31 pm

I haven’t worn Levi jeans for almost 50 yrs. They got very political when Nicaragua had problems and I didn’t agree with what they were doing, so I quit wearing them. I see no reason to start wearing them again with this CEO and his anti gun , he says it isn’t anti, but when you see all the small print it is. I am now 74 and I wear Wranglers and will continue to do so. Levi was my pant of choice until the 70s and when I stopped I went home and tossed all of them. This company has no idea what it wants to be when it grows up

    • Myles March 6, 2019, 2:43 pm

      Wranglers are the best agreed

  • Doris Allen March 6, 2019, 1:26 pm

Well, I don’t guess you will be needing any of the money you get from denim wearers. Wait and see how that works for ya….

  • Pam March 6, 2019, 1:16 pm

Guess I won’t be buying anything from their brand ever again

  • Chas March 6, 2019, 1:07 pm

Levis don’t have enough belt loops to properly support a tactical belt anyhow.

  • Chester March 6, 2019, 12:59 pm

I bought one pair of Levi’s right before this was announced and now I make it my duty to wear my firearms with them

    • Teresa March 6, 2019, 1:43 pm

I say we all start posting pictures of our holsters right next to the label on the jeans on social media. #armedandready #packin

  • Tracy Mosier March 6, 2019, 12:57 pm

Levi has lost my business!! What a shame too!!

    • stan mashek March 6, 2019, 1:31 pm

I WILL NOT BUY ANY LEVI PRODUCTS AND WILL TELL ALL MY FRIENDS TO NOT BUY ANY LEVI JEANS. A BIG MISTAKE THIS CEO HAS MADE. LOOK AT DICKS SPORTING GOODS THERE BUSINESS HAS DROPPED BIG TIME H HOPE THEY GO OUT OF BUSINESS.

  • Hugh Gallarneau March 6, 2019, 12:30 pm

I will never buy Levi jeans again. What type of a idiot who’s company name made me think about the west and people on horseback riding carrying a Colt and Winchester makes such a stupid decision?

  • Ricky Davis March 6, 2019, 12:07 pm

Well you just lost my business, and anyone else’s business that I come in contact with and convince to do so !

  • Scotty March 6, 2019, 12:06 pm

Naming his brand among the “pioneers of the American West” and the “great symbols of American freedom” ….this IDIOT thinks the company is a symbol of America freedom by taking away our gun rights?? This MORON can take a flying leap!! The Board of Directors should remove this asshole for essentially alienating half of their customers. Does he NOT know how many hunters and farmers wear their jeans? Well, that number will be greatly reduced now.

  • Will Brown March 6, 2019, 12:05 pm

    no more Levi’s for me…
    I wear wranglers…
Levi’s are made in Brazil not in the US…
    Wranglers made in Mexico.

  • John March 6, 2019, 11:49 am

Haven’t bought them in years…getting to costly….and now will never go back.

    • Kat March 6, 2019, 12:34 pm

      Ditto

  • Chuck Strong March 6, 2019, 11:45 am

Another company I will never do business with.

  • Curtinkc March 6, 2019, 11:00 am

Add Levis to my list of crap I will never buy again, not that i would anyway since 99% of your nunk is made kkn China and Japan, anyway. Way to be apart of the attack on our Constitutional rights, Levis. Go eat a bag of dicks!

  • Linda Milker March 6, 2019, 10:58 am

We have bought and worn Levi’s for 60 years!!! Well now the next pair , you can bet your a— on will be Wrangler!!!! I hope you loose your a— from this idiotic anti gun stunt!!!

  • Chris Cliff March 6, 2019, 10:52 am

It boggles my mind that a CEO would sabotage a brand like this. Why would you alienate such a massive portion of your consumer base.

Hopefully the stock tanks and he gets booted out. This rampaging virtue signaling is bad for business. I for one will never but a Levi’s product again.

    • Dick Collis March 6, 2019, 12:57 pm

Wranglers will certainly see their sales grow after this stupid move. What an idiot!

  • Carla nelson March 6, 2019, 10:35 am

I can’t believe all this foolishness in our county, state and our wonderful country. Everyone’s joining activist groups that have no end. This anti -gun group, including Levi Strauss, has a pathetic outlook about our country. Profit is his only goal not improving our country! Giving the companies money to his chosen activist groups is terrifying. Lord please help these young mislead minds!

  • Ray March 6, 2019, 10:28 am

He is lying when he says he doesn’t want to take the second amendment away . The guy could find a bullet in his head he and others keep messing around with ourrights

  • Everett March 6, 2019, 10:23 am

🎵bye bye to my pair of Levi’s, drove my Chevy to the levy and that’s where I burned my Levi’s 🎶

    • David March 6, 2019, 1:40 pm

And this is just another reason why to but Wrangler 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸

  • Bob Tatanish March 6, 2019, 10:21 am

Maybe all gun owner should stop banking with banks that support this effort. Banks under stand the bottom line numbers. Never buying Levi Strauss again that my choice, you make yours….

  • Misty March 6, 2019, 10:07 am

Gonna wind up being another Venezuela!

  • Tom March 6, 2019, 9:53 am

Sorry Levi!!!! I will be wearing Wranglers from this day forward!!! 7 pair of your 501’s gonna be burned in 20 minutes!!!!! GFY!!!!

    • arkytekt March 6, 2019, 12:42 pm

      “GFY!” Love it!

  • Serena March 6, 2019, 9:51 am

What a shame! No more Levi’s in my house! Shame on you Levi’s for allowing an employee to do this!!!! Take back your company from these people who want to take Americans rights!!!

  • Gary Anthony March 6, 2019, 9:40 am

Hope you go broke. Are you going to revolutionize the thug industry ? No just go after the good gun owners

  • Paul March 6, 2019, 9:33 am

Libtards are void of any common sense even though real life stories and statistics prove their ideology wrong ,
The Bible even says in the last days a strong delusion will come to humanity so that people hate the truth and will believe the lie
    #boycottLevi’s

    • Karl March 6, 2019, 11:03 am

The bible also says in the end days people will be slanderers without self control and that they will call what’s bad good and what’s good bad yup u definitely see that with the left

  • Barry March 6, 2019, 9:30 am

If Levi’s wanted to do something good for every consumer they have or would ever have they could get behind a prolife agenda. Then they would have more asses to cover and have a lot more business. What they have chosen to promote on the political side will cost them dearly starting with me and mine.

  • Kerri March 6, 2019, 9:29 am

I will NEVER buy Levi brand again. Everytime there is an issue with gun violence the first thing people yell about is gun control. What they fail to see is gun control will not fix the problem considering most gun incidents are not commited by legal gun owners but by people who should not have them anyway and were obtained by people who got them illegally. Shut up and sit down. Gather your Facts pal because all you are doing is killing another business for bad facts. Grow up.

  • Bradley Johnson March 6, 2019, 9:25 am

Do these stupid idiots really not understand that if we give up our gun rights these foreign countries that hate us will probably invade us because of right now they know with our military and the armed civilians they would not have a chance if they invaded us. I will not buy anymore Levi’s. Everyone boycott this stupid idiot and his company.

  • Grover March 6, 2019, 9:04 am

So long Levi. I’m changing brands.

  • Jeff March 6, 2019, 8:36 am

All done with Levi’s. Plenty of other choices out there and I’ll choose them.
Didn’t he come from P&G? Another knucklehead elite, probably with armed security.

  • Mike March 6, 2019, 4:09 am

Dangit solong Levi’s just lost another customer be against the Americans way of life get out of our country.

  • Nick March 6, 2019, 2:59 am

Damn…Levis used to be my favorite jeans….oh well…sorry Levis…im out.

  • Mona Moorman March 6, 2019, 1:53 am

The bad guys will always have guns. All this does is keepblaw abiding citizens from protecting themselves.

  • James March 6, 2019, 1:32 am

Levi’s lost all standing with me in the early 80’s when they closed almost all manufacturing from Mississippi and Alabama to Mexico. They shouldn’t even be allowed an opinion.

  • Stephen hukari March 6, 2019, 1:11 am

More people are killed by hammers than “assault weapons”. You’re a douche bag. Never gonna buy Levi’s again.

  • Shane March 5, 2019, 11:30 pm

I don’t know if this guy doesn’t know it but his opinion don’t matter and his Levi’s, I wouldn’t be caught dead on pair , haven’t owned a pair sincw childhood, and I don’t think I’m alone. He better worry and focus more on his company than trying to push an agenda.

    • John March 6, 2019, 8:14 am

I am with you. Everyone is about restraint for the law abiding people. What about taking them from criminals? Screw Levi

  • Alexander March 5, 2019, 9:23 pm

Although Levi’s jeans fit me well, I have stopped buying their products almost two years ago. Permanently.

  • RON March 5, 2019, 7:46 pm

Where have you people been?!?! I read about Levis being anti gun in 1992. Maybe if more people paid attention before things got out of hand we wouldn’t be constantly defending our rights. I boycotted Levi 27 years ago!

  • Steve March 5, 2019, 5:57 pm

Have worn Levi’s since I was Old enough to buy my own about 45 years. Simply put I will not purchase another product manufactured by Levi’s. Have passed the word to everyone I know. All have said they will do the same.

  • Jim Banks March 1, 2019, 11:29 pm

    I’m burning my Levis tomorrow

  • KENNETH W BARRETT March 1, 2019, 12:43 pm

I am 76 years young and have been wearing Levis since I can remember. But not anymore . The ceo is an idiot if he thinks what he is doing will make a difference.

  • Mike OHare March 1, 2019, 9:10 am

I think AAFES should stop carrying Levi’s, since Levi’s is against guns they are obviously also against American service members and their families.

  • Robert Paul October 30, 2018, 6:03 pm

DOUBLE F\’ing WOW, I have worn Levi\’s 501\’s ever since I could afford to buy my own clothes and YES, I have seen their Quality go way down in the years as to fabric. But, I never imagined this. I will wear out what I have and NEVER AGAIN BUY ANY LEVI MERCHANDISE. I hunt and enjoy my wildlife and there are just too many options out there for jeans to buy anything and I mean A_N_Y_T_H_I_N_G ever again that is Levi or any subsidiary of the Levi company, which means KEEP UP THE POSTING and let us know what other names of subsidiary companies are under the Levi Corp. umbrella that we can avoid too.

    • Gary March 1, 2019, 9:26 am

I too have been a lifelong Levi’s user of their jeans, BUT NO MORE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Like you said there are too many other choices out there that are just as good or better. Now off to unsubscribe from their email sales and order some American Eagle jeans to try.

  • Robert Paul October 30, 2018, 5:21 pm

  • Mike October 6, 2018, 9:28 pm

I haven’t purchased any of their products for at least a decade. Many of my family members are in the trucking industry and when Levi pulled their products from Truck stops because they “Do not want to be associated” with truck drivers (You know the folks that haul everything you own) I decided to spend my money elsewhere.
    The heck with these fools.

Anybody that says they are “pro 2nd amendment but” is the person that is the enemy.

  • Eric Stevenson September 13, 2018, 5:05 pm

Wow, I really don’t know what to say here. I find my self in a position that I question the very fabric of our ever evolving society. We have people of wealth and power pushing an agenda of gun control that pails in compression to drug and alcohol abuse in this country and aside from automobiles is the largest killer in the country if not the world. But we need to get ride of all guns and then we will be safe, a dream world is just that, a dream. I just heard on the radio this morning that the FDA is now going to force the cigarette companies producing Vape products to come up with a plans to prevent people too young to buy the products from in fact betting them. Hasn’t the government been trying to do this for years? Now we have spent BILLIONS on the D.A.R.E. program over the last twenty plus years only to now allow states to legalize POT. What are these states doing to prevent the youth and children from getting and doing this drug that is still as of right now federally illegal? We are so upside down right now we are on a collision course with disaster and complete societal failure and they want our guns to make sure we cannot stop it. I guess like Dick’s they can afford to lose customers like us. Levi’s You just lost a customer for life.

  • Wayne Godfrey September 13, 2018, 11:37 am

I really don’t have a position in this dog fight. I don’t own any Levi’s, can’t afford Levi’s, and the quality is not as good as they used to be. Seems like all these big conglomerates have a big desire to cut there own profits and livelyhood to push a political agenda. I guess it is there right.w

  • KC September 12, 2018, 1:58 am

I’ve worn Levi jeans since 7th grade (1965). Looks like I won’t be buying any more.

  • Edward September 11, 2018, 10:08 am

Damn….all the ladies say I look great in Levi’s…now I will never buy another pair of their pants, or anything else with the Levi’s label

  • Wayne Howard September 10, 2018, 4:26 pm

Levi just lost another long time user of their products.

  • JoshO September 10, 2018, 1:59 pm

Levi’s have been hiptster garbage for a decade at least. They don’t make real denim anymore anyway, just pants out of thin almost chambray material like a shirt. They last a week of actual wear, if you’re lucky.

Real men and women weren’t wearing Levis anymore. Who cares what this limousine liberal has to say.

  • Bobs your uncle September 10, 2018, 10:21 am

Green Peice is after Levi for pollution in the third world, and yet Levi gives a million dollars for Bloombergs anti gun agenda.

  • Michael September 10, 2018, 3:44 am

He IS brave to take a stance, even if I don’t agree with him. Too many people grumble and do nothing. On all sides of any issue. I personally feel every American citizen and permanent resident alien over the age of 16 should have mandatory firearms training. PARTICULARLY anti gun advocates. I have no way to push my position forward but that’s a whole different story.

  • Gene Herod September 9, 2018, 5:14 pm

    Good bye Levi

  • Scotty Gunn September 9, 2018, 2:46 pm

    Dear Levis,
I now buy Carhart jeans. Wranger shirts. No more of your products in our home. What makes you think as head of a company to get on a political bandwagon? What do your shareholder’s think? Do you even care about them?

  • Dr Steve Nelson September 8, 2018, 10:06 pm

I will no longer purchase leg and shirt gear for my teams who labor for environmental actions here in Florida. Wrangler has agreed to supply my needs of over 100k per year. Will miss you Levi. Decide if you will ever give a shit about freedom. That was your heritage, now lost.

  • OutdoorsGuy September 8, 2018, 8:37 pm

Hey there Mr. Levis, I would be happy to send you some of my 80 mg. Ibuprofen if you need it. It works fine on my lower back pain, I am sure it will dull the pain in your feet also.

What pain?? Whoa, for a guy who just shot himself in BOTH feet in one fell swoop, you sure are acting mighty brave about the accident.

I give you maybe 6 months and you will be standing right behind your buddy at Dick’s waiting for your Government handout check. Such a fitting end for guys like you who think they can rule the world by simply thinking they can. I can always tell who the chronic game players are when they step up to the firing line with nothing but a paintball gun for their personal defense weapon. [unless your libtard friends try to outlaw those also] That will be exactly what you will deserve after this circus is finally put to bed.

  • Coaster September 8, 2018, 7:02 pm

Let me tell you what I’ll do with my decades old Levi’s. I’ll shred all of them and forcefully stuff them down the throat of every liberal POS I run into until you PsOS learn, that “We the People” will fight to our dying days to stop you and the BS you’re infected with! Does “From My Cold Dead Hands” ring a bell? Get ready excrement!

  • Levi September 8, 2018, 3:50 pm

Exactly why I wear Wrangler or nothing at all.

  • Mike Watkins September 8, 2018, 2:45 pm

I’m way ahead of ya’ll. I quit wearing Levi’s years ago. When they said the Boy Scouts organization couldn’t have any more Levi’s community charity funds because the Scouts would not allow gays to be Scoutmasters. Don’t know about the rest of you, but I thought (and still think) that my 12 year-old son on an overnight camp out with a gay man is a bad idea. Guess now the Scouts have gone over to the dark side though. Too bad.

I’m sure our dollars aren’t going to matter to Levi’s. Plenty of progs still buying the Levi’s crap.

I really wish there was something more emphatic we could do to the asshats who are destroying our Nation. Such as the “entertainment” and media bastages pushing their progressive crap without end.

    Maybe someday…

  • Luis Bonilla September 8, 2018, 8:18 am

I like to know where was the generosity from these companies , when people needed help , with employment and medical plans that cover every aspect of health care ? And where were they when the drug epidemic in the USA ? Why no support ? How about the support for the homeless families and single men and women ? How about the hungry people in America ? How about the educational system ,college is very expensive and some are hard to get into because of social standing and race . why not free education to those who wish for learning , make so that if they take an exam to get in . Not some dumb ass essay or how many outside activities they had . Pay for that make it free for them ..!! Pay up for full medical benefits to all employees . Happy and healthy employees work better .

Don’t make it dog and pony show for customers .
How is your yacht and mansion and all your fancy car’s ?

  • Donald Hall Sr September 8, 2018, 7:28 am

    Dear Chip,
I put my Levis in the same pile as my Nikes and stood by and listened to them scream in agony as they burned down to the sweat shop crap that they are.
Hello Wrangler, Lee, BCC and NewBalance. Goodbye Levi and Dicks.
I never thought I would see the day when companies would deliberately destroy their customer base by thinking that they can take a stand that would be so unpopular with so many.

  • david hobbs September 8, 2018, 6:26 am

I don’t have any thing that says levy on it have not froze to death and nothing hangs out

    • Scott himes March 6, 2019, 7:28 pm

      Bye Levi’s burn.

  • Mark September 8, 2018, 3:50 am

So it’s Official, I have put levi on my “you suck list” and never ever buy another ridiculously overpriced Levi product again !

They are definitely overpriced and the quality has been going down for a long time. Stupid liberal CEO.

  • archangel September 8, 2018, 2:25 am

Levi Strauss has “never been afraid to take an unpopular stand to support a greater good,”????

    What greater good?

Never going to buy another pair of Levi’s, or anything else from that company, ever!

  • Eric Holder September 8, 2018, 2:13 am

    I only wear suits anyway.

  • Mark Wynn September 8, 2018, 12:24 am

When Levi and Wrangler stopped making my favorite jeans in the USA, I found USA-made Ely jeans. Great cut and quality. Real (not designer jeans) at real jeans prices.

  • Andrew N. September 8, 2018, 12:10 am

I will BRAVELY take a stand against Levi Strauss and no longer purchase any of their brand. Another company on my personal boycotts, which includes, but is not limited to Dick’s, The NFL, Nike (for obvious reasons), Bank of America, and CitiBank. There are more, but I don’t want to bore you. I also will not pay to see certain actors in movies, nor buy certain musician’s songs / albums. I don’t care if you are a Liberal, I really don’t. But when you use your platform to attack our way of life / Rights, you won’t see any money from me. I hope Levi’s heads the same direction as Dick’s, who seems to be suffering from a bad case of ED. (Economic Downturn)

    • William September 12, 2018, 10:48 am

Amen brother. Stupid liberal Levis CEO.

  • Area 52 September 7, 2018, 11:02 pm

If he’s paying them to “volunteer” it ain’t volunteering.

    • rockinRD76 September 17, 2018, 2:44 pm

Absolutely, this libtard allegedly educated dunce of a CEO should know that what he is doing “for his employees” is bribing them to follow his libtard agenda. Please, somebody stop the world, I wanna get off!!

  • Jake September 7, 2018, 9:24 pm

That cocksore General Michael Hayden is one of the people involved in the attempted coup to overturn the election. He is a domestic enemy in my opinion. This guy, former army officer or not will definitely be on the other end of our rifles should the nut jobs keep up with their attempts to subvert the elected President and the Constitution. Levis are now Deep State pants. Just my two cents. Just more upset now that Woolrich Elite Tacticals are no longer available.

  • Michael Hayes September 7, 2018, 9:04 pm

Another stupid rich idiot, he thinks to know so much but knows so little. And worst tries to shove it down other peoples throats.

  • Robert September 7, 2018, 8:53 pm

No more Levi jeans for me and my family. I will not do business with a company that refuses to acknowledge my rights guaranteed by the Constitution! !! Go pound sand Levis and Nike

  • Bob Rovak September 7, 2018, 8:27 pm

Levies! They are cheap, overpriced jeans, made in some other country. So do not talk American!!! I was around when they were made in America. Do not walk in here like you are some icon…. Not anymore……

  • Hondo September 7, 2018, 8:03 pm

Levi Strauss moved their manufacturing to a foreign country which makes them a foreign company so their 2nd Amendment stance means nothing to me.

They want to cater to the SJW types fine but they won’t see a dime from me, this inferior product they produce may be fine for limp wristed soy boys but I prefer AMERICAN MADE PRODUCTS and that isn’t Levi’s.

  • Aardvark September 7, 2018, 7:39 pm

“Bergh assures his readers he doesn’t want to repeal the Second Amendment or suggest that gun owners aren’t responsible. He’s a former Army officer, after all, and he took an oath to support and defend the Constitution.”

No, he just wants to eliminate the 2nd Amendment and leave American citizens defenseless. Typical hypocrite globalist.

  • Charles Hutson September 7, 2018, 7:38 pm

Hallow wrangler. Amassing how stupid and disconnected these elitist who live in there gated communities think. These are the same clowns who misread the November elections. History has a way of repeating itself.

  • Jim Cargill September 7, 2018, 7:25 pm

Being a former Army officer does not qualify him in any way for any thing, so that comment does not belong in the context it was made. I would love for him to explain how his grants, and actual “purchase” of influence does not fly in the face of 2A. Who is attempting to exclude from firearm ownership? That would be a very good question, and one which demands a qualified answer.

  • glennsixtyone September 7, 2018, 7:19 pm

Who gives a damn about Levi Strauss’s crappy clothes anymore..?,,, they not even made in America anymore. Wrangler’s Riggs trousers and shorts are 10 X better for utility work,,, and Levi’s clothes are f-ing ugly otherwise.

  • Chad September 7, 2018, 6:45 pm

Another company along with Nike that I won’t ever buy there products again there’s plenty of pro 2nd and pro American owned veterans companies out there to buy from!!!!!!!!

  • Morris Jaskula September 7, 2018, 6:38 pm

UUUUUUUM–lets see–didnt Levie cast themselves as the pants that help settle the West–ya right but so did Winchester.
So what the hell is wrong with that bunch of morons.
I have watched my last NFL game, purchased my last pair of Levies maybe 25 years ago and will boycott both of them forever. Also any company that panders to PETA, the gay coalition, the DUMB-O-CRAT party , the greenies , just to name a few.
All that pathetic bunch of whiney asses want to do is kill the Constitution and Bill of Rights–
WE DON’T NEED MORE GUN LAWS BUT WE NEED TO PROSECUTE THOSE THAT ILLEGALLY OWN GUNS AND USE THEM IN A CRIME—NOT LAW ABIDING CITIZENS WHO OWN GUNS AND USE THEM IN THE CORRECT AND SAFE MANNER.
I HAVE BEEN A GUN OWNER SINCE I WAS 16 AND IL BE 70 IN DECEMBER AND BELIEVE IT OR NOT I HAVE NEVER KILLED ANYONE AND I CONCEAL CARRY AND I HOPE WITH ALL MY BEING THAT I NEVER HAVE TO UNHOLSTER MY SIDE ARM FOR ANY REASON OTHER THAN SHOOTING PRACTICE AND CLEANING.
-PISS ON THEM ALL–THEY LOOK BETTER UNDER WATER!!!!

    • Roger Mitchell September 8, 2018, 5:02 pm

MORRIS, I COULDN’T SAY IT ANY BETTER. DICK’S,LEVI’S AND THE REST OF ANTI GUNNERS CAN GO POUND SAND. BESIDES WE ARE TERRORISTS,WE OWN GUNS,EX MILITARY AND BELONG TO N.R.A. ALSO THOSE MORONS THAT SAID THAT GUN OWNERS WANT MORE GUN CONTROL ARE BLOWING SMOKE(BEING POLITE). ANY READERS REFER TO MORRIS’S COMMENTS ABOVE.

  • Charles R Freeman September 7, 2018, 6:18 pm

There’s a good jean company in North Carolina, Texas Jeans, That’s where I buy mine.

  • Oldanddontcare September 7, 2018, 5:48 pm

One of the great things about being in my early 50’s is that I am already getting curmudgeonly. That means that letting go of Nike shoes and Levis clothing is no big deal. Does Sears still make Toughskins? 🙂 Time to look into it. I understand that there’s a demographic “lull” coming that means that there will be a time of fewer young people. As such, all these companies that seem to be willing to flip the bird to those of us who are older and have more traditional values are going to get what’s coming to them when they decide it’s OK to cater to the young and foolish SJW’s at the expense of the rest of us.

It’s past time to quit calling them liberals. The derogatory connotation is lost on the current generation. These people are control freaks and we need to start using that term. Everyone has had someone in their life who was a control freak and people can relate to the annoyance of being told how to live their life. The latest is just Levis jeans telling us that gun owners are inherently bad people and should give up their freedoms even though as a group, they are more law abiding than average.

    Paul

  • Karl Vanhooten September 7, 2018, 5:16 pm

Glad I have another reason not to wear jeans. Since discovering KÜHL®, 5.11, etc. pants, I wouldn’t be caught dead in denim. Nobody I know who hikes, backpacks, hunts, or shoots wears jeans or any cotton fiber – maybe except for cold/wet weather hunters who prefer wool for its wet warmth.

  • joefoam September 7, 2018, 4:54 pm

I hope this works as well as Dicks dumb decision which has cost them a lot of cash and customers. Explain that to the stockholders SJW. Same vote of confidence for Nike for their ridiculous move to canonize CK.

  • Frank September 7, 2018, 4:09 pm

    Boycott and VOTE!

  • Frank September 7, 2018, 4:02 pm

Another American legend turned commie. Never buy Levis again,

  • Eric September 7, 2018, 3:39 pm

Does the CEO of Levi’s realize that most of the original SEAL team members wore levis during the Vietnam conflict.

  • john September 7, 2018, 3:09 pm

We should take a play out of the liberals play book and with companies like Walmart and others that sell guns bring in an 18 year old and sue them when they refuse to sell them a gun , and places like Levi’s just boycott. Maybe protest in front of their stores with signs and bring their policies to light.

  • Martingard September 7, 2018, 3:07 pm

Hmmm, a long time ago I quit buying Levis because they were being made in Mexico. This is right after they moved their location from Henderson, NV to Mexico. Throughout the years I haven’t missed them a bit. I started wearing knee length shorts a few years back and couldn’t find a good fit. I saw their 505 shorts and purchased a pair. The fit was perfect as the legs were not as wide. Came time to replace the ones I have so I ordered two more pair. They arrived yesterday and again the fit was perfect. Well, they’re being returned on Monday after having read this little piece of 2nd Amendment bashing by Levis’ CEO. I hope this bites him so badly on the butt he won’t be able to ever sit down again. Stand with me and lets make Hogg the only male on Earth to wear any kind of Levi clothing. If I can’t find something else that fits me as well, I’ll just wear something that doesn’t. I just don’t need to further fatten the likes of this anti-American pos.

  • ArvadaDude September 7, 2018, 3:03 pm

Levi’s just lost my business 100% forever. No gifts no purchases of any of their products.

  • Bryant September 7, 2018, 2:56 pm

I refuse to buy anything from Nike, now Levi.

  • Boss September 7, 2018, 2:35 pm
  • Bill L Sims September 7, 2018, 2:31 pm

Looks like time to boycott Levi’s. If he wants to support that position that is his right. But while he is the CEO he is not the owner but a employee of the stockholder’s. But I will not purchase products that use there employee’s to push their social projects, nor should I have to pay a higher price for the product nor take a lower dividend. What has jeans got to due with gun control? It may be that this mass shooter’s are wearing his jeans, or may be the jeans made them do it!

  • David Welsh September 7, 2018, 2:11 pm

Products from treasonous companies don’t belong in stores. These slime don’t belong in America. Elitists don’t determine who should have guns. Monsters like Hitler and Stalin, who disarmed their citizens would applaud this effort. No more of their denim crap for me and my family. And shame on them for supporting social issues that mock God and His design.

  • DocMcG September 7, 2018, 2:11 pm

“pioneers of the American West” and the “great symbols of American freedom,”

Funny… He must have forgotten about the other brands that fit these moniker that kept pioneering individuals alive and fed while they wore Levis. Remington, Colt, Winchester, Browning…

  • craig September 7, 2018, 2:10 pm

I too will never buy their products. I would back the idea of forcing all Liberals/ Democrats out of our country. They are actually more of a threat to our way of life than Illegal aliens. Not that i want them here either.

  • Rangemaster11B September 7, 2018, 1:06 pm

I was sorry to learn while reading these comments that Wrangler has not been made in the USA since 2005. I also stopped buying Levi’s in the 90’s when they promoted homosexuality in the Boy Scouts. I agree with the comment about tariffs or even embargo on foreign textiles. I’ll have to start looking into other brands.

This virtue signalling is nothing new from Levi Strauss. It sounds like they will be directly subsidizing Hogg boy in Floridia.

  • Brian September 7, 2018, 12:28 pm

This SOB needs to move to Mexico where he relocated his factories. They have gun laws there he would love. But of course the cartels who really run the country would ignore his views on guns and demand a heavy tribute to leave his worthless ass and his families alive.

  • John Sagers September 7, 2018, 12:24 pm

Chip Bergh, Levi CEO, is a twisted, pathetic, piece of trash like all Liberal Democrats. Glad that I read this news story because I was going to purchase several pairs of Levi jeans this weekend for an up coming trip. Forget it! I will now purchase Wrangler as I do not support worthless Liberal Democrats, their ideals, their visions, nor their companies. GUNS DO NOT KILL PEOPLE, PEOPLE KILL PEOPLE! We as U.S. Citizens have the 2nd amendment right to bear arms to protect us from our own Government. Yes, to protect ourselves from the very sick minded Liberals that want to take those rights away. Not ever going to happen!
You Liberal Democrat scum, do not speak to me about “GUN CONTROL” until you stop the every day slaughter and “MURDER OF BABIES WITH YOUR ABORTION”.

  • George Murphy September 7, 2018, 12:20 pm

Just another company to boycott. Vote with your checkbook. Check your investments and be sure that you are not holding any stocks of ANY company who does not support your 2A rights. Period!!!

  • Erik Mayernik September 7, 2018, 12:10 pm

Levi is a failing company. My opinion is this is an attempt to try to get some free advertising, while at the same time hoping to appeal to the Anti-Second Amendment people to spend money on his product. What he needs to realize is that there are many, many options in the market for good quality jeans at a cheaper price, that more than half the country who support the Second Amendment won’t pay an inflated price for a product to support an opposing opinion on an important political subject matter. Personally, I have worn Levi’s all my life, I’m 59 years old, I have two pairs of Levi that will be trashed and I will never support them again. I hope that he takes note that he has just destroyed 59 years of business good will with one customer. More importantly. I wonder if his forefathers who worked hard to establish the product line would approve? I highly doubt that, since they helped build the west just like Colt!

  • Rodney September 7, 2018, 12:01 pm

I will never buy another pair of Levis ever again. Anyone reading this, go to Costco and you can get a great pair of jeans for under $14.00 that are much better made than any pair of any over-priced Levis.

  • mike September 7, 2018, 11:54 am

LoL—Dick’s, Nike, Levi’s——all of the companies in retail that are dying are ALL OF A SUDDEN becoming SJW in a LAME, FEEBLE effort to get back lost revenue and help themselves to become relevant. You DUMB-ASS CEO’s are as STUPID as the PARASITIC POLITICAL “ELITE” class in this country. You believe your own BULLSHIT marketing departments just as “They” believe their own lying, cheating Polls. Here’s the “RED” Pill, YOU ARE ALL NOTHING BUT PRODUCT MANUFACTURERS. AND, WE CAN GET OUR “Product” ELSEWHERE. As for YOU CHIPPER, ALL YOU’VE DONE IS MAKE THE BONFIRE IN THE STREET BIGGER by adding YOUR CRAP to the pile. LEVI’S are NOT what they used to be anyway, LEE Riders and Wranglers are10X better. Good luck with your STUPIDITY and I hope to see you in Bankruptcy Court!

  • Nancy September 7, 2018, 11:44 am

Don’t these people realize that taking firearms out of the hands of law abiding people puts them at risk for home invasions and all sorts of crime against the people they love and care for?
Don’t they realize that taking firearms out of the hands of law abiding people only limits the law abiding people….not the criminals. Ban firearms and criminals will still obtain a firearm. How stupid can you be?

  • R. Hilburn September 7, 2018, 11:33 am

This is nothing new for Levi’s. I read about their anti gun stance more than a decade ago. I have not bought anything made by Levi’s since.

  • Johnei September 7, 2018, 11:32 am

Levis is a privately held company by the decendents of Levi Strauss. If they support the CEO he has the right to do it. If not they should fire him for wasting company money.

The real problem is these idiots believe that stopping gun violence somehow equates to gun control. It does not. They really have nothing to do with each other. Gun control prevents law abiding citizens from getting guns to protect themselves. Stopping gun violence involves catching and punishing criminals who use guns. Making the punishments so harsh and actually imposing the punishements. To do this we need to get rid of the Insane left liberal judges who think criminals should not be punished. We should never see the repeat offenders that we see every day as they should never get out of jail.

    • Martingard September 7, 2018, 3:12 pm

      Spot on!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Big John September 7, 2018, 11:30 am

Earlier this week I burned my NIKE’s, today I burned my LEVI’s…winter is coming quick, I hope the Hane’s CEO doesn’t do anything foolish or it’s gonna get a might uncomfortable around here till April or May!

  • Allan September 7, 2018, 11:29 am

No rational thinking human wants gun violence!………Guns are not the problem ….no more so then cars or kitchen knives. The problem lies with mental health and the plethora of violent video games and movies designed to entice the youth of the world and the sick trend that permeates social media in today’s world. There will always be guns. And there will always be other jean manufacturers.

    • Aj September 7, 2018, 6:38 pm

Don’t blame games and tv. I spent much of my Saturday mornings watching Bugs and Elmer, Tom and Jerry, GI Joe and Cobra destroy each other time and time again. Watched horror movies and gangster movies like Scarface, and never once thought about shooting someone or taking a bat to someone’s head because I got made fun of at school or got cut off in traffic. You know why? Because my parents taught me right from wrong and never gave up on me even when I made mistakes. Parents of the last couple generations have completely checked out before the end of their duty shift.

  • Rafael Aguirre September 7, 2018, 11:16 am

  • Stewart M Bestwick September 7, 2018, 11:13 am

Mr. Chip Bergh, as an American citizen and business CEO, has every right to say what\’s on his mind and what his opinion is! Though it is a singular point of view it is his, whether the mainstream public differ with him is their right as well. Nobody wants the crazies to continue their destruction and killing, we all need to work to get that problem solved, but it should be remembered that ALL Americans have a point of view and belief, so are pro 2A some are against it, fact is that the 2A is part of our US Constitution and even more importantly our history. I am pro 2A but strongly against the violence and targeting of innocent schools and our citizens.

I think that people that can afford to live in gated communities and can put up with all the crap that homeowners groups put on you , Then you can afford to make A H statements like these idiots. Problem is you can\’t remain locked in that bubble forever ! Truth of the matter is if you actually live in the REAL WORLD with us human beings that actually take up arms to fight for our freedoms and rights . Firearm ownership is guaranteed by our Constitution , true it has been under assault by the politicians that would love to take our guns so they could have complete control over us and turn us from the land of the free to the land of the enslaved. Per wikipedia, for what that’s worth, Wrangler closed its US manufacturing in 2005.

Here’s an article about Jean companies that actually still produce in the US. Almost all of them from the left coast, the one on the west side of the country.
    http://www.thegoodtrade.com/features/american-made-denim

  • Rex September 7, 2018, 10:58 am

Wranglers. I haven’t worn Levis in decades.

    • Boz September 7, 2018, 11:29 am

      Exactly correct Brother!

  • Kevin September 7, 2018, 10:57 am

Hey Donald….Check this out: Time for a BIG import tax on foreign textiles. Or better yet maybe an EMBARGO. Desertion should come with a price.

  • Rick Litton September 7, 2018, 10:52 am

Well I don’t need Levi Strauss products in my house. Maybe he will pay us not to buy them.

  • JRD September 7, 2018, 10:47 am

It always amuses me when these CEO’s of the large corporations try to impose their personal agenda’s onto the US consumer. I always fight back by not purchasing their products. These CEO’s are overpaid and live in security gated communities. They’re living in a dream world untouched by the reality the normal citizens live in. The 2A is not going away ever! There have been civil wars over less. What we have going on in this country is a Socialist Coup against our Constitutional Republic.

  • Bill September 7, 2018, 10:43 am

I will no longer buy any Levi’s goods. I will no longer shop at Dick’s Sporting Goods. I also stopped watching the NFL. If there are any other un-American companies using their products to further the socialist agenda, please list them so that I may stop using them as well. I think the NRA published a list like this some time ago, it is time again. If you cherish your individual freedoms, stop buying the one-world, socialist movement products.

    • Martingard September 7, 2018, 3:19 pm

      Yes!!!!!

  • RGE September 7, 2018, 10:41 am

Oh I love this one. Paying shills to join anti-gun organizations, and sponsoring anti-gun policies because, heck they’re a company and have money to spend. OK well here’s the thing. I guess I’ll stop buying your clothes and even better, I’ll just go burn them. Oh I guess he forgot that the denim business was built on guns, roughnecks, cowboys, sheriffs, hard rock miners and the like. Almost all of them at the beginning were gun owners. Their goods can now join the now-discarded Nike athletic wear and other sh*t I bought over the years and be consigned to ashes.

  • Gun Man September 7, 2018, 10:36 am

Levis are now part of the garbage heap. I have switched to Wranglers. BTW the relaxed fit Wranglers are also much more comfortable. Should have taken Bret Farr’s advice years ago.

  • JD September 7, 2018, 10:31 am

As Levi Strauss & Co. is a San Francisco based company, I think to them, not taking the political stands they have would be more controversial.

On another subject, walked into a Dick’s yesterday to see what firearms companies are still doing business with them. Disappointed, I found Ruger, Remington, Marlin, Beretta, and Savage still on their racks. 😥

    • Martingard September 7, 2018, 3:22 pm

  • George H. September 7, 2018, 10:30 am

    Anagram of Levi : Evil.

Right about that George H, it is such a modern tragedy but it wouldn’t be as cyclically problematic if the news media would just discipline themselves to not launch into their 24×7 coverage for days on end at each occurrence of these incidents, AND, they should never release the name of the shooter or video of the incident. Yes the issue is news worthy, but by this time it is clear to see that there needs to be limitation of media coverage less they inspire the next killer… this is a modern problem and it not going away with these modern behaviors.

Just another socialist fool that one day is going to regret this decision. What gun violence? the so called violence your being spoon fed in order to disarm the american people? School shootings as an example are listed in the hundreds, when in reality, there are but a few actual shootings that take place. It would be nice, if regardless of the issue, that people would do some real research to learn the facts about the issue they are speaking out against.

But as are most libtards, blind to that fact as long as they have a venue to attack law abiding citizens. I haven’t worn levis in years (did when I was young). They are subpar and rarely fit properly. But guess what. Many, many conservatives will continue to buy from these type of businesses. If “EVERY” conservative would boycott these companies, they would soon be bankrupt!

Time to quote various authors on this subject!

    Hoplophobia
Hoplophobia is a political neologism coined by retired American military officer Jeff Cooper as a pejorative to describe an “irrational aversion to weapons.” It is also used to describe the “fear of firearms” or the “fear of armed citizens.” HOPLOPHOBIA. (1966) From the Greek___(weapon) plus __ (terror).

An unreasoning, obsessive neurotic fear of weapons as such, usually accompanied by an irrational feeling that weapons possess a will or consciousness for evil, apart from the will of their user. Not equivalent to normal apprehension in the presence of an armed enemy. Hoplon also means instrument, tool or tackle, but it is the root of hoplite (man-at-arms, gendarme) and thus principally signifies “weapon” in English derivations.
Col. Jeff Cooper, widely acclaimed as “The Father of the Modern Technique of Shooting,” introduced the two-handed grip at eye level, when it was standard for people to shoot one-handed, and often from the hip. Far less known, Cooper was a historian with a Master’s Degree in History from the University of Calif. at Riverside and he held a B.A. from Stanford in Political Science.
Hoplophobia, n. Irrational, morbid fear of guns (c. 1966, coined by Col. Jeff Cooper, from the Greek hoplites, weapon; see his book Principles of Personal Defense). May cause sweating, faintness, discomfort, rapid pulse, nausea, sleeplessness, nondescript fears, more, at mere thought of guns. Presence of working firearms may cause panic attack. Hoplophobe, hoplophobic.
Hoplophobes are common and should never be involved in setting gun policies. Point out hoplophobic behavior when noticed, it is dangerous, sufferers deserve pity, and should seek treatment. When confronted about their condition, hoplophobes typically go into denial, a common characteristic of the affliction. Sometimes helped by training, or by coaching at a range, a process known to psychiatry as “desensitization,” a useful methodology in treating many phobias.
Hoplophobic behavior is often obvious from self-evident irrational responses to real-life situations and is frequently seen in the news media and public debate. When a criminal commits a crime using a gun, hoplophobes often seek to disarm, or make lists of, innocent people who didn’t do anything, a common, classic and irrational response.
The idea of creating an enormously expensive government-run 90-million-name database of legitimate gun owners — which would not include armed criminals — is a prime example of an irrational hoplophobic response to the issue of crime. How writing your name in such a list would help stop crime is never even addressed. (See, “The Only Question About Gun Registration”)
An effort is underway nationally to have Hoplophobia recognized in the DSM, the official directory of mental ailments. Resistance from elements in the medical profession suggest this may be quite difficult, but that does not reduce the importance of recognizing a widespread, virulent, detrimental mental condition commonly found in the populace. The actual number of undiagnosed hoplophobes is unknown but believed to be in the tens of millions.
Read Dr. Sarah Thompson’s brilliant essay on the medical nature of this affliction, the article that got the ball rolling on serious medical study of a condition affecting millions of Americans.
Read Dr. Bruce Eimers’s insightful short description of the problem.
Hoplophobes are dangerous. They should not be involved in setting public policy.
Hoplophobes are victims. They are sick and need help.
Hoplophobes deserve sympathy. It’s not their fault they are afflicted.
Hoplophobes should seek treatment. Help shoot for a cure.

People who are terrified of and hate guns — hoplophobes — don’t care about anything rational, and we waste our time on such arguments. They want guns to go away. They don’t trust guns. They don’t trust people who have guns, and especially people who like guns. The only exception is “official” people with guns, meaning, they’re from the government, a source of relief.
They will seize on anything else, because Hoplophobia is an irrational fear. Conveniently for them, the language of the report itself says that the limits of this individual right have not been clearly defined.

To a Hoplophobes, that means your right to arms can be legally limited to a single gun, with a single round, that does not operate, and is locked away, with government holding the key. And even that leaves them nervous.

What we really need is research and medical-treatment programs for the poor, unfortunate people who are terrified of guns, won’t go near guns, who would not defend themselves or their families if they had to, and who, very plainly, hate guns.

    Hate is a terrible thing.

It must be confronted vigorously, righteously, and in a forthright manner. Logic and law do not confront hate or help lessen it. We must learn not to tolerate gun hate, anywhere we find it.

Hoplophobic behavior in government, schools, and all facets of public life must be recognized for what it is, exposed, and rooted out or treated. Seemingly utopian pacifists are free to profess their love of a weapon-free world, but they must start by disarming the evil, criminal and tyrannical. Disarming the public is a vent for their twisted fear and hatred, a grotesque affront to freedom, and unacceptable. Disarming an innocent person is an act of violence.

Guns save lives. Guns stop crime. Guns are why America is still free. The history of freedom is inextricably tied to the development of weapons (an interesting study, by the way, if you have the time to examine it). Good people need guns. Efforts to end that are immoral and unjust, and when done by government, is a direct failure to “preserve, protect and defend the Constitution.” That’s a violation of the oath of office, which should lead to removal from office and possibly even criminal charges.

The people we elect or hire for public service should be screened for latent or overt gun hatred, and disqualified if such hatred is found, before it can do any more harm to our nation and its values.
It is well past the time when the DSM (Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders), the catalog of recognized mental infirmities, includes “Hoplophobia,” in all its forms, and serious medical research is conducted to identify and treat this pernicious condition that threatens us all. The doctors among you should begin raising this issue. If you’re not a doctor but have one or two, ask them about it.
The opponents of gun rights come in four fundamental categories:

Utopian Idealists – Dreamers willing to ignore human nature (anger, hostility, temper, greed, lust, hunger, poverty, want, megalomania, social pathologies, etc.) in the vain hope for a world where no one ever needs to defend themselves or others; Result: misguided efforts to disarm the public since no one should ever be capable of exerting lethal force for any reason. Fairly rare.

Routine Bigots – Ignorant gun haters who, generally, have never actually seen a real gun much less fired one, and hate what they don’t know; strong corollaries with race haters; Result: Vigorous anti-rights profile if left alone, however they often resolve their blind hatred when education removes the ignorance — frequent anecdotes of such folks “converting” after their first time at a range. Quite common.

Hoplophobes — Unfortunate souls afflicted with a phobic terror of firearms, deserving of pity, and in need of medical attention; Result: Though they should never be involved in setting policy on self-defense, national security, or Second Amendment rights, they often insinuate themselves into such positions, their need for treatment goes unattended, and they cause grievous social harm. Easily mistaken for plain bigots. Too common.

Power Mongers – Like some at the U.N or many anti-gun-rights politicians, they know full well that an armed public interferes with their plans, and they insidiously use lies about the gun issue, and “disarmament (of you but not them) as a road to peace” as a power base and source of support; Result: truly evil, tyrants’ who ultimately suppress human rights, contribute to global genocides, live an elite lifestyle, care not for their fellow citizens. Rare but extremely dangerous.

    Example of the Sickness:

“My own view on gun control is simple: I hate guns and I cannot imagine why anybody would want to own one. If I had my way, guns for sport would be registered, and all other guns would be banned.”
–Deborah Prothrow-Stith, Harvard School of Public Health

The right of decent private citizens to personally possess, transport, and responsibly use arms without government interference is the ultimate freedom and the main pillar supporting all other liberties. Few cultures have allowed their general population access to weapons, the tools of power, to the same degree as the United States. Instead, most societies have restricted the keeping and bearing of arms to a select few power brokers and their agents, often resulting in oppression on a grand scale.
Despite a massive amount of historical evidence to the contrary, there is a substantial body of Americans, many occupying positions of influence, who contend that the abrogation of the Second Amendment is the quickest path to domestic tranquility. Since this is as absurd as advocating blood-letting as a cure for anemia, it would seem advisable to question the motives and mentalities of the gun control advocates themselves.
In my observation, weapon prohibitionists can be broken down into seven major categories. Even though their motives may vary they all pose a mortal threat to liberty.

    ELITISTS
Many of those in favor of oppressive firearms legislation are best classed as elitists. Elitists frequently identify with a peer group based on wealth, power, rank, social status, occupation, education, ethnic group, etc. and perceive themselves and their peers as inherently superior to and more responsible than the “common people”, thus more deserving of certain rights. Since elitists practically consider those outside their class or caste as members of another species, that most anti-elitist list of laws, the Bill of Rights is viewed by them as anathema. Naturally, the Second Amendment is their first target as it serves as the supporting structure for other nine amendments.

    AUTHORITARIANS
Another type of individual who favors the restriction of private gun ownership is the authoritarian. Authoritarian personalities are characterized by their belief in unquestioning obedience to an authority figure or group and a disdain for individual freedom of action, expression, and judgement. Those with authoritarian personalities function well in symbiosis with elitists occupying positions of power. Because authoritarians repress their desires for autonomy they harbor a deep resentment toward free and independent thinkers. Of course, authoritarians do not want firearms in the hands of the general population as this constitutes a major obstacle to fulfilling their pathological and obsessive desire to control people.

    CRIMINALS
It goes without saying that career criminals would like to see the public disarmed for obvious reasons. A well-armed population makes crimes such as assault, robbery, and burglary hazardous for the perpetrator and this is bad for “business.” Also, even non-violent or “white collar” criminals live in constant fear of retribution from the public that they financially bleed and would therefore prefer that the public be disarmed. Evidence supporting this hypothesis can be gathered by studying the Second Amendment voting records of those legislators who have been convicted of willful misconduct.

    THE FEARFUL
Cowards are easily or excessively frightened by things and situations that are recognized as dangerous, difficult, or painful. It therefore stands to reason that the mere thought of guns and the circumstances in which they are employed causes them abnormal amounts of stress. Rather than admit their weakness to themselves or others, some fearful types jump on the anti-gun bandwagon and purport moral superiority to those “barbaric” enough to employ lethal force against armed assailants by claiming various humanitarian and pragmatic motives for allowing evil to remain unchecked. Many of these individuals harbor an envy induced resentment toward anyone with the means, skill, and will to successfully stand up to criminal aggression.
The desire to assert oneself exists in nearly everyone, wimps included, so cowards seek out tame enemies against whom they can ply their pitiful brand of machismo. Instead of the sociopaths who commit acts of wanton aggression with guns, guns themselves and responsible gun owners are the main targets of their attacks. After all, real criminals are dangerous, so cowards prefer doing battle with inanimate objects that do not have a will of their own and decent law-abiding people whose high level of integrity and self-discipline prevent them from physically lashing out against mere verbal assailants, however obnoxious they may be.

    IDEOLOGICAL CHAMELEONS
Ideological chameleons follow the simple social strategy of avoiding controversy and confrontation by espousing the beliefs of the people in their immediate vicinity or advocating the philosophy of those who scream the loudest in a debate. Quite a few supposedly pro Second Amendment public officials have shown themselves to be ideological chameleons when they supported restrictions on the private possession of military style semiautomatic rifles following recent atrocities in which such firearms were employed. Like their reptilian namesake, people who merely blend in with the ambient philosophical foliage seem to have little insight into the moral and social ramifications of their actions. Political and/or economic gain along with avoidance of confrontation are their only goals.

    SECURITY MONOPOLISTS
Security monopolists are those members and representatives of public and private security providing concerns who want the means of self-protection out of private hands so that they can command high fees for protecting the citizenry against the rising tide of crime. These profiteers stand to lose a great deal of capital if citizens can efficiently defend themselves. To the security monopolist, each criminal who enters and exits the revolving door of justice is a renewable source of revenue providing jobs for police, social workers, victim counsellors, judges, prison employees, security guards, burglar alarm installers, locksmiths, and others employed by the security monopolies or their satellite organizations. No wonder it is so common for an honest citizen to be more ruthlessly hounded by the authorities when he shoots a criminal in self-defense than a criminal who shoots honest citizens.

    THE DYSFUNCTIONALLY UNWORLDLY
Just as a limb will weaken and atrophy if not used, so will aspects of the mind fail to develop if nothing in one’s environment exists to challenge them. People who have led excessively sheltered lives tend to have a difficult time understanding certain cause and effect relationships and an even harder time appreciating just how cruel the world can be. These dysfunction ally unworldly types are truly perplexed at the very notion of firearms ownership regarding defense. To them, tyranny and crime are things that happen in other places far removed from their “civilized” universe. Also, they do not understand the value of private property and why some people would fight for theirs since they never had to work hard to acquire what they possess. While those suffering from dysfunctional unworldliness are most often people who have been born into considerable wealth, this condition is also common in members of the clergy, academicians, practioners of the arts, and others who have spent much of their lives cloistered in a safe and pampering environment. While many of these people may be quite talented and intelligent in some ways, their extreme naivety makes them easy prey for the tyrants who use them for the financial support and favorable advertisement of their regimes. The anti-gun movement is well represented and financed by the dysfunction ally unworldly.
The price of liberty is eternal vigilance, and it behooves all vigilant lovers of liberty to know and be able to recognize the various types of arms prohibitionists and understand their differing but equally dangerous motives. Acquiring knowledge of one’s foes is the first step toward defeating them. We must never forget that a threat to private firearms ownership is a threat to all freedoms.
The inalienable and fundamental right to keep and bear arms which is enumerated by (but predates) the Second Amendment to the U.S. Constitution is not about hunting, gun collecting, or target shooting. Its purpose is to ensure that every responsible American personally possesses the means to defend the Republic from all forms of tyranny, within and without. It is what permits the other nine Amendments in the Bill of Rights to be more than mere hollow phrases on a piece of paper. Its free exercise is the antithesis of serfdom and the only meaningful form of holocaust insurance known to man.
We must never insult and degrade the spirits of our Founding Fathers by permitting the Second Amendment, the pillar of freedom, to be destroyed by the cold flame of legislative ink.

I haven’t bought a pair of Levi jeans in years. Guns are not the problem. Society is the problem. The progressive liberals have spread their ideology in our schools and society in general. There are no consequences for the actions for the people who hurt and kill others. The judicial system has been neutered when it comes to the sentencing they can hand out. Every time we have a mass shooting the media plays it time after time on tv and immortalizes the shooters name. Then the media says we need to find out why the shooter did this. Unfortunately the country already knows what causes most of the shootings. Maybe we should be concerned about the root cause of the problem. For example violent movies, video games, bullying, radical ideaology into terrorism just to name a few. We have created a society where people have been desensitized to violence and have no regard for humanity. Myself I will never give up my ar 15 I use to protect my family from people like this. Levi Strauss will never get business from my family.

It’s becoming a disease that the country will be forced to eradicate.

  • Howard Cannon September 7, 2018, 5:58 am

Levi doesn’t support me and my RIGHTS, I don’t support them and their PRODUCTS!

  • Chuck September 7, 2018, 5:58 am

One more reason why I wear Wrangler Jeans!

  • Retnavet September 7, 2018, 5:56 am

Saying more gun laws are needed because criminals commit crimes with them is like castrating ones self because you think your neighbors have too many children

  • Mike September 7, 2018, 5:41 am

Always did like that little “Buddy Lee” fella. No more Levi’s for me. Let’s start our anti Levi’s campaign now

  • Vash454 September 7, 2018, 5:33 am

Duluth Trading makes high quality jeans that last a LONG time ( mine are going on two years)- at about $70 – much less during their regular sales.

Support companies that don’t shove their politics down your throat.

  • Dr. Strangelove September 7, 2018, 5:28 am

I’d boycott Levi, but I switched to Carhartt many years ago. It’s a much better value and made in Mexico.

    • Kalkavekkian September 7, 2018, 9:08 am

I think Bergh’s comparison of his company supporting the case for supporting Civil Rights Laws to the Second Amendment restrictions is like comparing Apples to Oranges. First of all supporting the Civil Rights Laws thanks to the Republican Party was affirmed into laws that minorities should have had according to the original words in the constitution. The only reason it wasn’t was because of Southern Congressmen, who later formed the Democratic Party, didn’t want it affirmed because they didn’t want to keep their slave trade.

Bergh’s and the General’s ignorance of the founding fathers intention when they included the Second Amendment is really not all that surprising. First of all just because somebody was a senior officer in the military doesn’t mean they are supporters of the Second Amendment or even the First Amendment. I have seen many senior officers in the military who openly support even restricting even their own troops from owning firearms, which is really doesn’t make sense. These officers on one hand are willing to give their troops some of the most destructive weapons on earth when they are at war, but not when they are at home to defend themselves or their own families. Hence, we have terrorist like Major Nidal Malik Hasan able to kill unarmed US soldiers while they were on there own base.

The founding father’s included to the Second Amendment to control attempts from a government tyrannical government and the right to defend themselves. These people who want to restrict our rights don’t think a tyrannical government couldn’t happen forget the “Battle of Athens, Tennessee” became a battleground. The local crooked Sheriff, who ran the town, was oppressing the local citizenship by brute force. The returning GIs from the war tried to vote the Sheriff out of office and during the elections the Sheriffs deputies arrested one of the ex GI’s when was observing attempts by the deputies in stuffing the ballot boxes and the final straw was when the deputies refuse to let a local Black Farmer from casting his ballot and when the opposition group insisted the accepted his ballot he dropped the ballot and one of the deputies shot him in the back. Then these ex GI’s raided the local National Guard Armory and cornered the Sheriff and his deputies in the Jail with the ballot boxes and put an end to at least their current corrupt government official. People like Bergh’s and even the General are really out of touch with the general populace and they don’t feel the oppression from all the restrictions that local, state, and finally the federal government regulations and laws that keep getting added every year just makes us less free. Bergh’s business was formed by people who believed in the foundations on which this country was formed especially the right to defend themselves.

Bergh’s needs to be reminded that large corporations like Carnegie, Morgan, Chase, Rockefeller and Ford where companies that abused and even killed their workers during the times when these companies were growing. They held the power of government and the guns to keep their employees in line. If Bergh was so concerned about people what about all the people he laid off from the American Plants to take advantage of making his jeans in countries where working conditions are generally at the very best poor. He built those factories in countries where there are virtually no labor or environmental laws which are killing the locals, which in the end are really no big deal for the the Bergh or the Nike’s of the world. Oh they might make inspections of plant’s like Nike, but when the inspectors are gone there is nothing to stop them from going back to being oppressive. These company are not going to move their plants that cost millions because they have some minor thing such as labor mistreatment.

These same people like Bergh’s and even military officers who believe you really have no right to own a weapon. I know Bergh’s and even the General say they aren’t against the Second Amendment, but the groups they are supporting are actually advocating just that.

Thank God I’ve have always been a Wrangler man (and always will be now) !!!

  • Vince September 7, 2018, 3:35 am

Wonder how much-armed protection Chip has? CEO of a multi-billion dollar company! There are CEOs with way less clout who have armed protective service details. I found it so ironic, Chip fails to mention that. Makes you have to ask the question..

I boycotted Levi’s for quite a few years because of their anti gun stance. I gave in last year as things have died down…Now they are back into the forefront once again. They need a few lessons about gun violence, and gun control. It had been quiet for a good while, so now they are risking business once again. Besides, their prices are too high anyway.

  • bbbs53 September 7, 2018, 3:24 am

Hey Chump, a lot of us are switching to Key jeans, you all are going to learn the same lesson Dicks is learning!

  • Bobs your uncle September 6, 2018, 12:18 am

The fashion/clothing industry is under attack from environmental groups big and small for pollution caused by the manufacture of their products, in the third world, the brand LEVI is a major target, why they would target another industry rather than spend time and resources cleaning up their messes isn’t all that much of a mystery, it’s probably cheaper and makes the statement we’er the good guys because we hate guns.

  • Sepp W September 5, 2018, 5:41 pm

“Finally, Bergh hopes to incentivize his employees to join him in his righteous crusade. Levi Strauss will double its usual employee donation match to anti-gun organizations and pay employees for sixty working hours per year (5 hours per month) to volunteer for the same organizations.”

I imagine that contribution will be on the marginal side. I seem to recall Levi jeans are all made off shore nowadays. Can’t be talking execs because I assume those are salaried employees and the article references “paid for 60 hours. . . .”

  • Pat Wickersham September 5, 2018, 2:04 pm

The option of doing nothing, is better than doing stupid, just to claim it’s something..

  • Bobs your uncle September 5, 2018, 10:19 am

Yes, its all about guns, but don’t look at the ecological disasters caused by the fashion industry, (blue rivers) we need more gun laws, that will fix everything. Don’t look here, look over there, pathetic.
