When it comes to ammunition, there are a huge number of companies in the mix. With that, the quality varies a lot from manufacturer to manufacturer. I decided to head up to Northern New Hampshire and visit David Stark, the owner of Discreet Ballistics.

To take a 30,000 foot view of the MiniFix, and subsequently The Fix, it looks by all accounts almost like a bolt action dropped into a chassis.  This couldn’t be farther from the truth.  The rifle (and in this case pistol) was designed and built from the ground up, from scratch.  The approach being to make a lightweight, accurate and ergonomic bolt action.  They decidedly achieved this with the design.

SIG Sauer’s new Suppressed Upper Receiver was designed for SOCOM, and we got to shoot it at SHOW Show. It’s chambered in 300 BLK, and its integrated suppressor is welded to the barrel and since it’s 16″ overall it only requires one stamp to own it.

New at the NRA 2017 Annual Meeting is the DoubleStar ARC 300, which stands for “Always Ready Carbine.” The 300 BLK carbine is based on the 5.56mm Always Ready Carbine and features an extremely light weight of 6.7 pounds.
