Accuracy is crucial in a self-defense situation, of course, but the odds are small that you’ll ever need a firearm for self-defense. Hunting, on the other hand, combines the frequency of competition with the ethical import of life and death.

The Kestrel 5700 with 4DOF (for short), is compact and robust. Developing and eventually truing your ballistic data is going to start at the zero range. Getting a solid zero for the rifle is essential.  I prefer a 100 yard zero for my precision rifles because at that short of a range the environment is going to have a negligible effect on the bullet.
