If you are looking for a superb Model of 1950 revolver for your collection, your search is over. This lovely gun retains about 99% plus original blue finish. The service trigger and hammer retain beautiful case-hardened colors. The diamond checkered walnut factory Magna grips with silver S&W medallions rate excellent. This fine gun features a Patridge front sight, black blade micro adjustable rear sight, plus excellent timing, and lockup, and all the appropriate parts including the grips are correctly numbered to the gun. An interesting aspect of this fine collectible is it includes a factory two-piece gold box in excellent condition that is labeled for a Model of 1926 44 Hand Ejector but correctly numbered to this gun. Third Model production ceased in 1949 and the factory obviously used boxes on hand for this 1950-manufactured gun. The box has light sporadic edge wear and few handling marks. It also includes a blue finished steel factory cleaning rod, slightly used bore mop, a “Helpful Hints” pamphlet and a screwdriver. The screwdriver is the blue finished, all steel “turn screw” with knurled handle, and remains in excellent condition. A truly fantastic example of an early five-screw pre-Model 24 revolver.
