The metal surfaces on this scarce first issue Police Positive retain about 98-99% original blue, the loss is due to extremely light muzzle wear, a tiny bit of sharp edge wear on some areas of the frame and a few spots of minor fading on the cylinder, likely where it lay on its side. The bright-polished sides of the hammer are mostly brilliant with some remnants of some very light oxidation staining, the right side showing some minor scratches at the spur. The checkered walnut grips with silver Rampant Colt medallions rate excellent to as-new and fit precisely and are un-numbered. The arm very much appears un-fired, there is no drag line at the firing pin bushing and no flash residue on the face of the cylinder, the forcing cone and breech of barrel still in-the-white. Really a very lovely short-barrel example that needs an original box to be right at home again. An excellent Police Positive Special overall in a scarce chambering.
