Listed for sale is a Springfield Armory M1 Garand. Rifle manufactured in Feb 1945. Barrel wear LESS than a thousandth of an inch. Virtually Unfired. Breech measures two thousandths which even newly manufactured barrels were made with that much. Believe this to possibly be an "As Built" rifle. Everything dates to Feb 1945 or 1945 use. Example. Trigger Housing is a 16SA only used from late Jan to early March 1945. UNCUT 9SA Recoil Rod, Complete cleaning kit in stock ALL WWII items including a Nylon brush. ALL parts date to WWII TO 1945. All parts marked with heat lots or actual stampings known to be marked during the war. SLING made by SMC dated 1945. Has a WWII Bandolier of ammo. Complete WWII Bandolier with ammo dated 1945. Has cardboard wrapping on each SA Clip. Also includes a canvas sack containing all metal parts to install the grenade launcher. It was NEVER INSTALLED, but comes with the rifle. Rifle has a story behind it that if true, and I say again IF TRUE would lead me to believe this actually IS an as built rifle. Rifle Has NFR Cartouche, crossed cannon, circle P on handle. Cartouches visible without too much difficulty. Has normal dings and dents of a rifle issued to a personnelman.
HAS NOT BEEN sanded, refinished, repaired, busted, broken or Carved on anywhere. Original Park was Grey, which, after coated in cosmoline turned Dark Green in color. No Rebuild Markings. Springfield started making their own stocks partially in early 45. Full production of inhouse stocks started around May. This stock is an inhouse manufactured stock. No small cross cannon on flat end of handle.
