Listed for sale is a Springfield Trapdoor Cadet.  Model 1884. 

Rifle is Cadet Model in 45-70.  Metal not rusted. Stock in good condition.  Stock has NOT been Busted, Broken, Shortened, Sanded, Refinished or Carved on.  SWP 1888 Cartouche clearly visible.  Circle P and I Think the stock inspection initials also visible.  Good rifling.  Looks to be small spots of what could be pitting in a few places near bore end.  May be, may not be.  Could be lead fouling.  I have fired 500 gr lead loads through this rifle.  It shoots fine.  All parts correct for a cadet rifle from 1888.  Serial number dates to 1885. No cadets made in 85.  Read Al Frasca's book on the trapdoor Rifle.  He discusses use of earlier receivers in later manufactured rifles. Cadets we're a good example of this. Al is the world's expert on these rifles.
