When John Olin wanted to have title to the strongest side by side shotgun in the world, he went to work and got it done. The Model 21 is an American icon and its reputation is well deserved. A strikingly handsome gun with the finest steels, gunners in the know have utilized the Winchester Model 21 in the field and at the club to shoot thousands of rounds without failure. IF YOU LIKE HEAVY LOADS FOR PHEASANTS OR OTHER TOUGH GAME, THIS IS THE GUN. Most double gun enthusiasts are well aware of the reputation earned by the Winchester Model 21; a gun of far superior strength and mechanical genius that was under the micro management of John Olin himself. With only 32,000 produced (compared to 250,000 Parkers!), any high condition Model 21 is a valuable, investment quality firearm sure to appreciate as you enjoy its use. They made 5 times more 12 gauge guns than 16 gauge guns, and almost 3 times as many 20 gauge guns than 16's. From 1930 to 1943 they only made 1034 16 gauge guns in all grades, most of them Standard Grades or Skeet Grades. In the next 3 decades they only made a few hundred more, maybe 1500 total production in 16ga. Most realize the superior ballistics of the 16ga. for upland birds compared to the 20ga. and readily choose the 16. This fine Model 21 Skeet, sn11890 built in 1937, is a very special gun in that it is factory documented to have shipped with a nicely figured English style stock, and remains in all factory original condition with no restoration. It has been carried and hunted and shows some handling marks on the wood, but no cracks or gouges (if you want the wood restored to factory new, including recut checkering, add $450 for a full restoration done to perfection in our shop within 4-6 weeks of purchase) and the metal shows only the slightest wear. The lettering stamps are crisp, the wood to metal fit superb, the bores are mirror new, and the barrels are tight on breech face and hinge pin like a new gun with the lever way right of center. Mechanically excellent in every way, the gun is ready to break clays and down birds for another 80 years with no problems. The Winchester Model 21 Skeet is always going to be a very desirable Winchester and makes a great investment for your hard-earned money while you enjoy its use. Thanks for looking!
