This is a locally owned 870 Wingmaster, manufactured in January of 1977 from its B O date code, and in the exclusive possession of its only retail owner for the past 33 years. The only non-original furniture are the high visibility fluorescent green bead and Limb Saver recoil pad, both added in the early 1980s before Steel Shot got instituted. For the past 25 years or so, it has been in use in the bean, sorghum, and sunflower fields of Western Henderson County during dove season, hence the operation whitening to its magazine tube. We classify it as Very Good, since it has moderate contact evidence on its surfaces. We rate it at about 80 percent finishwise, but photos should suffice for prospective owners to judge finish grade for themselves. It is excellent mechanically; bore, chamber, and mechanism are all bright, clean, and excellent. Barrel is 30 inch Full Choke, plain barrel, and the muzzle interior diameter mikes at .705. Thickness at the muzzle measures .082, plenty thick. Length of pull is full original 14 inches, 13 inches at the end of the walnut. Note the chrome plated shell carrier that has only moderate streaking and no visible peeling. Note also the excellent burl and fiddleback figure to the buttstock.
